My Hero Academia: Thunder God

Chapter 241: Chapter 240: Kaminari's Tangle

Regarding Kaminari Denki's question, All For One did not answer immediately. Instead, he looked at the brilliant golden electricity crackling around Kaminari with a hint of admiration.

"This move of yours... is called 'High Voltage Mode,' isn't it? It triples your movement speed, firing speed, and reaction speed. It also gives you the ability to stay airborne temporarily by leveraging your extreme speed—essentially allowing flight."

"At the same time, each of your punches and kicks carries approximately 100,000 volts of electricity, making you a formidable force both offensively and defensively."

All For One had spent considerable time researching Kaminari, especially his Quirk, as it was critical to understanding the young hero's capabilities.

The outcome of this research, however, had been surprising. All For One had ultimately abandoned the idea of stealing Kaminari's Quirk. The reason was simple: Kaminari's "Electrification" Quirk, in and of itself, was not particularly outstanding.

In fact, All For One compared Kaminari's Quirk to several other lightning-based Quirks, and the results were clear. Kaminari's ability had several significant flaws compared to others.

For example, Kaminari's "Electrification" required manual charging to store electricity. Meanwhile, another Quirk called "Electric Energy" allowed the user to absorb charged particles from the air passively.

In terms of control, Kaminari initially had no way of directing his electricity, unlike another Quirk called "Thunder Control," which allowed the user to freely manipulate external currents. Although "Thunder Control" initially required the use of a small generator, its potential suggested that with proper training, the user might eventually control charged particles in the atmosphere, or even summon lightning from storm clouds.

Compared to such capabilities, Kaminari's Quirk seemed unremarkable. His current strength clearly wasn't due to the Quirk itself but rather his genius-level creativity and rigorous practice. Even if All For One were to steal Kaminari's Quirk, it wouldn't replicate his abilities.

This realization was one of the reasons All For One valued Kaminari so much.

"Although you seem to know me very well, I have to say, there are thousands of people in Japan who've analyzed me in detail. So, this isn't particularly impressive," Kaminari said with feigned nonchalance, masking his tension with a hint of teasing.

His statement wasn't entirely untrue. As his reputation had grown, many people had started analyzing his abilities. Fans had even created detailed character profiles, breaking down his skills and performances across different scenarios.

"However," All For One interrupted, "what they don't know is the other side of your soul and that's what I'm here to help you uncover."

"The other side? Help me?" Kaminari raised his eyebrows in mock surprise. "Well, before we go any further, care to explain who you are and why you're here?"

All For One hesitated briefly before deciding to continue. However, instead of addressing Kaminari's question directly, he suggested a change in venue.

"I can reveal my identity and the truth about this world to you, but before we discuss further, can we relocate to somewhere less... exposed?"

Kaminari's expression didn't change, but his tone carried a hint of sarcasm. "You haven't even told me who you are or what you want. Do you really think I'd just follow you somewhere without knowing anything? Do I look like a three-year-old to you?"

All For One paused, considering Kaminari's point, before nodding slightly. "Fair enough. Let's talk here."

It wasn't that he couldn't force Kaminari to comply—he easily could. But Kaminari wasn't just a pawn or a disposable tool; he was someone All For One hoped to win over willingly. Furthermore, All Might was currently far away in Shizuoka Prefecture, giving him plenty of time. The Heroes in Saitama City were insignificant in comparison, and even if they arrived, they posed no real threat to him.

"My story begins with the first generation of this so-called 'new world,'" All For One began.

Over the next twenty minutes, he recounted his history with One For All, detailing the brutal struggles and the origins of their conflict. As Kaminari listened, he pieced together some of the missing parts of this world's narrative.

However, Kaminari's focus wasn't on the epic battle between All For One and One For All. Instead, his thoughts drifted to two specific individuals: All Might and Midoriya Izuku.

Sure, the rivalry between the forces of justice and darkness sounded grand, but as someone who had watched countless stories with similar plots, Kaminari found it a bit clichéd. Heroic narratives like this were far from unique.

"All Might is the eighth wielder of One For All, and All For One is a Quirk that can be passed down," Kaminari thought. "All Might was severely injured in his battle with All For One and had to find a successor. Then along comes Midoriya Izuku with his terrifying explosive potential..."

As Kaminari connected the dots, his eyes lit up with sudden clarity. He realized something that even All For One might not know yet.

"All Might passed One For All to Midoriya Izuku!"

"No wonder!" Kaminari muttered to himself. "That's why Midoriya always felt... off. This kid is the quintessential shonen manga protagonist!"

Even as All For One continued narrating, Kaminari's thoughts raced. The setting, the characters, the themes—they all began to align in his mind.

"A society built around superpowers, an academy setting, the inheritance of justice and darkness, themes of friendship, hard work, and triumph..."

At that moment, Kaminari began to suspect that he had somehow landed in another manga world, a world he hadn't read about yet.

"And if this really is a 'Jump' world," Kaminari speculated, "then according to the genre's logic, the dark forces will inevitably lose in the end!"

Kaminari's gaze shifted to All For One, his expression growing more complicated. Based on what he'd heard, this man was undoubtedly the story's ultimate villain, a figure destined to clash with All Might.

"If All Might passes his power to Midoriya, the narrative will shift to focus on the next generation. That means both All Might and All For One are destined to step aside, either due to injuries or outright death. The story will then center on Midoriya and a younger, up-and-coming villain."

"And that new villain will likely be powerful, charismatic, and—" Kaminari paused, glancing at himself. "...wait, could that be me?"

The idea hit him like a lightning bolt. Kaminari's appearance, personality, and abilities all seemed to fit the archetype of a next-generation antagonist.

"But if that's true," Kaminari thought, "why would All For One be seeking me out now? My existence here started as a baby... If I really was meant to be the next villain, shouldn't my appearance have been altered by the plot?"

Kaminari's gaze returned to All For One, who had just finished speaking. For a moment, the two stared at each other in silence, each trying to discern the other's thoughts.

"Oh my god," Kaminari thought, feeling utterly perplexed. "What the hell is going on here?!"
