Chapter 12: Chapter 12: The Turning Point Arrives

The courtyard was silent.

Su Yu held a glass of fruit juice, quietly sipping as he gazed at the moon.

In this world, he wasn't legally allowed to drink yet—not even beer.

Not that he particularly liked beer, but at this moment, he found himself missing the taste.

His thoughts drifted—

Certain dishes used beer or wine for cooking.

If a high schooler ate such a dish…

Would that technically count as drinking?

—Clatter.

An empty beer can rolled onto the ground.

Su Yu turned around, looking at the two women completely passed out from drinking.

Would it be fine to just leave them here?

Probably.

But as the only sober person present—if he just left them like this…

Once they woke up, they'd definitely make him suffer for it.

"…Sigh."

Su Yu sighed again, walking over to Hiratsuka Shizuka.

"Hiratsuka-sensei? Hiratsuka-sensei?"

"Yukinoshita Ojou-sama? Yukinoshita Ojou-sama?"

No response.

They were completely out cold.

"If you both come after me later for this, I won't feel guilty," Su Yu muttered.

He bent down and hoisted up Hiratsuka Shizuka, carrying her toward her room.

A few minutes later—

After settling Hiratsuka onto her bed, Su Yu returned to the courtyard.

Now, it was Yukinoshita Haruno's turn.

He looked at her for a moment before speaking softly.

"To be honest, I don't dislike you. I know you care about your sister in your own way.

Yukinoshita Yukino needs someone who can break through the walls she's built around herself.

I thought about being that person, but I don't think I can.

Or maybe… I just don't understand her well enough yet."

Su Yu took a deep breath.

"I know she needs friends.

I'll help her find them—to bring a little more friendship into her life."

"As for changing her… I could, but I don't want to."

Finishing his thoughts, Su Yu lifted Haruno up and carried her inside.

He didn't take her to Hiratsuka's room—instead, he placed her gently on the living room sofa.

Then, he turned and left.

After cleaning up the courtyard and carrying the dirty dishes into the kitchen, Su Yu washed everything.

Once everything was done, he glanced at Haruno—

Still asleep on the couch.

Without a word, he turned off the lights.

Then, he walked out the door, closing it softly behind him.

Just as the door clicked shut—

Haruno's eyes opened.

She slowly reached into her pocket, pulling out her phone.

With a smirk, she stopped a voice recording.

"…What an interesting boy."

Her eyes glowed with amusement, a playful smile tugging at her lips.

Upstairs

At the corner of the second floor, Su Yu stood, glancing toward Hiratsuka Shizuka's room.

"…Good night, Yukinoshita Ojou-sama."

He turned and left.

The Next Morning – The Walk to School

Su Yu walked alone.

Passing by a convenience store, he stepped inside to buy a bento and a drink.

Last night, after returning to his room, he had spent hours reading Yukinoshita Yukino's notes.

He had to admit—

Her handwriting was beautiful.

Her notes were also meticulously organized, making it easy to absorb the information.

At this pace, he figured he could fully master all her notes within a week.

Maybe even faster—

If he spent his afternoons in the Service Club, staying until after dark.

But if he was with Yukinoshita Yukino, he might get distracted.

So, studying in the Service Club during afternoons wasn't an option.

The best plan was to use lunchtime to quietly finish reading everything, then review and organize the notes himself.

But in the classroom, there was Yuigahama Yui…

"Romance really does affect grades."

Su Yu sighed inwardly.

If he spent too much time with Yuigahama, his free time would shrink—and eventually, his grades would suffer.

But if he stopped having lunch with her, her favorability would drop.

And that wasn't an option, either.

Lost in thought, Su Yu arrived at the school gates.

At that moment, a black car stopped nearby.

The door opened—

And Yukinoshita Yukino stepped out.

As soon as she got out, she immediately spotted Su Yu—

And walked straight toward him.

"You definitely stayed up late reading my notes," she remarked, her tone amused.

"If there's anything you don't understand, just ask me.

That's one of the perks of being a Service Club member."

Su Yu studied her expression.

"Right now, I don't have any questions," he admitted.

"Your notes are excellent—your handwriting is beautiful, just like you."

"Thank you for the compliment," Yukino said without an ounce of humility, her face calm.

"After all, I am beautiful."

Su Yu chuckled.

"Yesterday, I went on a date," he said casually.

"She made a good impression, but I need time to finish your notes.

So, I was wondering…

Can I introduce her to the Service Club?

That way, I can keep her occupied during lunch—and also increase the club's members."

Yukino raised an eyebrow.

"Miura Yumiko?"

"No," Su Yu replied.

"Her name is Yuigahama Yui."

For the first time—

Yukino visibly hesitated.

Then, she smiled knowingly.

"Miura Yumiko's difficulty level was too high?"

"Yes."

Su Yu admitted it outright.

"…Is this time real?" Yukino asked.

"Do you actually like her?"

"Does liking someone need a reason?"

"I think it does."

"She's gentle," Su Yu said simply. "And her shy reactions are adorable."

Yukino studied him for a moment—then nodded, satisfied.

"Fine.

Bring her to the Service Club at lunch."

"Yes, Club President Yukinoshita."

Su Yu watched as she turned and walked away.

Other students were staring.

After all—

Having a public conversation with Yukinoshita Yukino at the school gates?

That was enough to draw attention.

Su Yu didn't want that kind of attention.

So, he waited a few minutes before heading inside.

Arriving at Class

After changing into indoor shoes, Su Yu walked into his classroom.

The moment he stepped inside—

He immediately sensed that something felt off.

Miura Yumiko was slumped over her desk.

Yuigahama Yui and Ebina Hina sat beside her, looking worried.

Su Yu's eyes instinctively darted to Hayama Hayato.

Hayama also looked at him at that exact moment—

But said nothing.

Su Yu turned back toward Yui.

"What happened?" he asked.

Yui's expression was complicated.

"Hayama-kun said something to Yumiko this morning," Ebina Hina whispered.

"She's been like this ever since she arrived."

Su Yu immediately understood.

Hayama must have told her the truth.

And Yui already knew—she must have realized why Yumiko was so upset.

Which meant—

She had believed in Su Yu's judgment.
