Chapter 25: Gesse Nukadia
[Before you start reading, could you give me some power stones and comment please??...]
Millishion is the capital of the Holy Country of Millis.
Approaching it from the sacred sword path offers travelers a spectacular view of the city in its entirety.
First, your eyes will be drawn to the Great Lake, a brilliant blue body of water, fed by the Nicolaus River, which flows from the Blue Wyrm Mountains.
At the center of the lake, the great White Palace appears to float upon its waters.
Further along the banks of the Nicolaus, you will see two other distinctive landmarks: the city's radiant golden cathedral and the shining silver headquarters of the Adventurers' Guild.
The city surrounding these remarkable buildings is laid out as neatly as the squares on a sheet of graph paper.
At its outer edges, you will notice seven imposing towers, with vast green plains stretching out beyond them.
This is a place not only rich in majesty, but also in perfect harmony with nature. No other city in the world is as beautiful.

....
Seeing the city with your own eyes was something totally different than seeing it in person, like seeing a photo or a video to seeing a place with your own eyes.
I can definitely say that this is the most beautiful city I have ever seen in my two lives.
My group and I saw the city from a couple of kilometers ago and every time we got closer the view became more and more beautiful, even the delicate Lilia was surprised by the sight, but other than that I frowned.
The city was beautiful on the outside but inside it hid one of the worst things that could happen to the world "religion".
The damn Millis are worse than the Jews controlling everything.
If these bastards find out that I killed Couleon they will most likely follow me even to Asura, just thinking about this gives me chills.
"Okay... Roxy, I'll ask you as a favor if you, Flauta and Lilia look for an inn. We'll be staying in the city for just a week, so something comfortable but not too expensive," I declared.
Apparently he was the unproclaimed leader of this traveling group as well as its most powerful warrior.
We would enter through the adventurer's area and head to the guild and then settle in the inn. There we would wait for Lilia to regain more strength, she would start training Roxy and try to learn those new spells.
"Understood, what will you do then?" Roxy murmured.
I raised an eyebrow and then sighed.
"I'll try to do some quests to rank up. I don't know what you'll do, Roxy, but Flauta and Lilia will stay at the inn so the girl can rest," I said.
"Okay, then let's continue," she said.
The arrival to the city had been much later than we had planned obviously because of Lilia, her current condition did not allow her to walk more than a hundred meters before exhausting herself so in most cases I or Flute carried her in our arms.
honestly it is truly chilling to see the girl in that state of extreme malnutrition, in comparison Cooney was fat.
the entrance of adventurers was as its name suggested, an entrance to the city destined for adventurers, there was not the possibility of there being too many high level jobs, but with a pair it would be fine.
we entered the city among the crowd of people standing in line, now I discovered that the entrance of demons in the city is very restricted so I asked Roxy to pretend to be my sister, her human appearance helped a lot ignoring her pouts of discontent.
as we entered the city and after passing between the stalls and shops it was time to separate.
Roxy and the others would go look for an inn and we would meet at the guild I was heading to.
Unlike the other cities, the Millis guild is really big, about four floors high.
Also, when I entered I was surprised by the number of young people there, unlike the other guilds, there were quite a few children here who were around 10 to 15 years old, so I didn't feel so out of place.
Without wasting time I headed to the request counter to look for a job but halfway there I was caught by the discussion of some guys.
"Come on buddy!! I'm serious! I'm not very good at fighting but I'm good at mapping, disabling traps and cooking! I'll be a great addition to your group!" A monkey-faced boy was arguing with a group of adults.
The boy was between 15 and 17 years old and was dressed in brown pants, sandals and a vest.
"Get lost kid! My answer is no, our magician can already do that, and you are only a C rank, we can't accept you!" a muscular man said and so he left the guild with his group.
"Tch...damn assholes, you don't know what you're missing..." the monkey-faced boy muttered to himself and then his gaze landed on me.
"And what are you looking at, brat!" he said with disdain and I just sighed and went to the request board.
The monkey-faced guy, seeing my reaction, raised an eyebrow and approached me.
"Huh?...I don't like that look kid! Who do you think you are?!" He shouted and I quickly unsheathed my sword, with a slight movement a five centimeter cut appeared on his cheek leaving him pale.
"Mess with someone your own size" I muttered disdainfully and returned my attention to the request board.
I searched for a few moments and only one job caught my attention.
"Goblins from the northern forest need to be hunted, their numbers have been increasing quite a bit these past few days and their extermination is needed"
Reward: 5 Millis silver coins.
"Hmm a good goblin is a dead goblin"
I took the request and headed to the receptionist, it was a D-rank job and with four more of these I would go up in rank.
The receptionist was a chick with huge breasts, excuse the redundancy, and she remained impassive when I approached her.
She agreed to let me take the job and the condition was to collect around 50 pairs of Goblin ears, apparently those bastards are a plague.
I left the guild without any problem, but now I had to go to the forest that was a couple of hours away from Millis, but it wasn't much of a problem, if I ran a little I would arrive in less than an hour.
Or so I thought...
"Hey kid!" a voice called behind me, I turned around and it was the monkey-faced boy who was running towards me.
I put my hand on the hilt of my normal sword and the boy stopped dead and raised his hands in surrender.
"Hey, hey! Calm down! Wow, you have talent with the sword you know?" he said.
"What do you want?..." I muttered while staring at him and he just sighed.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay? I acted like an idiot, but I can't find any work" he muttered.
I raised an eyebrow at this while looking at him.
"What do you mean by that? You're a C-rank adventurer, how come you can't find a job?" I muttered.
The monkey face sighed and dropped his shoulders dramatically.
"You see... I've never been someone who stands out in things like fighting, you know? I've only been able to advance through sheer ingenuity to rank D and I only advanced to rank C by spontaneously joining other groups who used to take care of the heavy stuff...but now I can't" he muttered.
I raised an eyebrow at this as I analyzed his story, he honestly does come across as pathetic.
"Okay, but what do you need from me? I'm an E rank, you won't get anything by joining me" I muttered and started walking again.
The monkey face blinked in surprise at this and then followed me.
"That's strange! From your technique I can bet that you are at least advanced rank in the Sword God style and from your two swords you are also practicing the North God style right?, So why are you at such a low level with those skills?" He asked.
"...it's complicated, I'm not here for fun" I muttered
"Hmm, I see, we didn't introduce ourselves anyway, my name is Gesse, Gesse Nukadia and you?"
"Paul...Notos Greyrat"
"Notos Greyrat?...like the Greyrats of Asura in the central continent?...what is a noble with your skills doing in Millis and hunting goblins?" Gesse asked surprised.
"I told you it's complicated"
"Come on! We have time for you to tell me your story and in exchange I'll tell you mine, although I bet it won't be as interesting..."
I sighed at this but nodded, it's not like I was going to do anything else during this hour long walk.
...
"So you and all of Ars fell victim to a mana disaster that teleported you all to random places in the world and you're currently escorting two residents back to your home," Gesse muttered assimilating all the information.
"Yes, that's a summary of everything that happened" I muttered, we were already close to the forest and it was time to look for nobles.
"Heh, it must have been a shock to go from one day to the next living in the luxuries of your mansion to fighting every day for our daily bread, huh?"
"Yes... but one gets used to everything, except not eating" I muttered while unsheathing Sakka.
"Hey... that sword looks familiar, where did you get it?" Gesee muttered.
"The Dedoldia gave it to me when I left there. It's a sword forged by Julián Jalisco, to save you from having to explain," I said.
"Jah!...you're full of surprises huh?" He muttered in a mocking tone.
"Yeah...let's be serious, the goblins are here" I muttered and I could see how the bushes began to move.
"W-well Paul, I'll leave it to you" Gesse said standing behind me.
"Really? You're older than me but it seems like I'm looking out for you!" I said with disgust.
"Hey! I already told you I'm good at everything except fighting!" He complained and I sighed in exasperation.
Green creatures about a metre tall began to emerge from the bushes. They wore loincloths and carried knives, and had hostile expressions and sadistic smiles.
"They're as ugly as I imagined," I muttered, spitting on the ground.
"D-don't even say it! Those bastards rape women left and right!" Gesee said behind me.
"Well, let's finish this then," I said, and getting into a combat stance I lunged at them.
It was easier than I expected, the bastards couldn't react at all to my speed and with a simple cut they were dead.
In less than ten minutes he had already killed around a hundred goblins but more were coming out from the bushes.
"Tch! These bastards are a plague!" I said and threw a mid-range fireball at one of the groups that was running towards me.
I spent a whole hour slaughtering all these bastards until they stopped coming.
Honestly, I'm already tired of them, now I see why they are a serious threat.
When the Goblins stopped Gesee came out of some nearby bushes and whistling approached me.
"Wow that was...intense, you are definitely powerful Paul...plus you used magic without enchantment?, I've never seen anything like it!" He said while looking at me with excitement.
"Yes, it was a trick I developed back in my days at my mansion and now I'm putting it to good use" I muttered.
"heh, I believe it..."
"Okay, I did the heavy lifting, now if you really want to team up with me do me a favor and cut off these bastards' ears so we can collect the reward" I said as I passed my normal sword to Gesse.
"Consider it done!" He said and approached the corpses quickly.
...
We managed to get around 100 pairs of Goblin ears in this Hunt so between the two of us we returned to the guild with bags in our hands.
But since it was a "joint" work, the reward was shared between both of us even after I did most of the work.
"How about we make a group Paul!" Gesse said after collecting the reward.
"A group?...But I'm heading to Asura, you'd have to follow us in that case" I declared.
"bah, nevermind, we can get work done faster that way and it's not like I have a lot of business in this city after all" he said and I stared at him analyzing him.
"Come on! I know how to cook well! And I can also manage our finances and many other things!" He continued and I sighed again.
"Okay, but for now I'll go to my inn, tomorrow we'll meet here at noon okay?"
"Consider it done, but we should form the group already, don't you think?"
"Yes, that sounds good to me," I said, and so we approached the receptionist again.
Since Roxy was an A-rank, she couldn't join the party until we were at least B-rank so for now it would be a duo.
"Okay, everything is ready, now what will your group be called?" the receptionist asked.
"What do you think Paul? After all, you would be the leader" Gesee asked.
"...the black wolf's fangs?..." I muttered hesitantly.
"I like that name! Let's write it down, Miss!" Gesse said excitedly and the receptionist nodded.
After waiting for a few moments, the repecionista gave us both our updated plates.
Name: Paul Notos Greyrat
Age: 10
Race: Human
Profession: Magician Swordsman
Rank: E
Group: The Fangs of the Black Wolf
I looked at my adventurer badge and then looked at Gesee who had an excited expression.
"Well, see you tomorrow then mate!" He said.
"Yes, see you tomorrow... buddy," I murmured and with that we said goodbye in the middle of the street and I waited for Roxy to arrive so we could go to our inn.
It should be noted that it took her a couple of hours to arrive, so she came to me embarrassed, saying that she had forgotten to tell me after taking a mission to hunt goblins...
Those things really are a plague, huh?.
