Marvel’s Shadowed Knight

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Spider-Man's Greatest Fear

Although that was what she said, Jessica couldn't help but feel that the guy looked somewhat familiar.

The thing attached to his body seemed similar to something that had once been contained by S.H.I.E.L.D. for research.

"The place Prowler is heading to—is it Miles' home?" Bruce was the first to react. The place Prowler was heading to must hold significant meaning.

From Prowler's perspective, the relationship between the two of them was likely something he could exploit to the greatest extent.

What he wanted to do was turn little Black Spider's greatest fear into reality.

"Yes, he'll reach Miles' home in just a few minutes." Jessica's hands flew across the console, quickly summarizing Prowler's route.

"Do we need to notify Miles?"

Jessica's suggestion was immediately rejected by Bruce.

"What is Miles doing right now?" Bruce was already hovering above New York City.

"He's heading toward the bank. If you need me to stop him, I have some confidence in that." Jessica had already hacked into Miles' phone through the console.

With just a nod from Bruce, she could contact Miles.

"Let him go. Give me the location of Miles' house and his parents." Bruce directly dismissed Jessica's words.

At this moment, Bruce was perfectly clear-headed.

"But..." Jessica wanted to say something, but in the end, she obeyed Bruce and sent him the locations of Miles' house and his parents.

The only good news was that due to the bank incident, Miles' father had left home to handle the robbery scene.

At home, only Miles' mother remained.

"I got it. I'll handle it." Bruce piloted his Batwing, cutting through the sky, reaching the airspace above Miles' home in the shortest time possible.

Sometimes, flying is simply faster than running on the ground.

Before Prowler could even reach the neighborhood, Bruce was already waiting.

A spotlight illuminated Prowler's figure.

The sudden spotlight surprised all the nearby residents—they couldn't recall any reason why the NYPD would deploy a helicopter here today.

Moreover, there was no sound of helicopter blades.

Miles' mother wanted to know what was happening outside, but in America, the first rule of watching commotion is to ensure your own safety.

Naturally, Miles' mother stayed inside, nervously observing the situation outside while silently praying that no large-scale chaos would break out.

Hopefully, not like what happened in New York before.

However, Prowler squinted, raising his head toward the sky.

That was no police helicopter—clearly, it was a strangely designed aircraft.

If it were the old him, his first instinct would have been to flee at the sight of such an unusual aircraft.

No one could be sure if it was some S.H.I.E.L.D. operative coming directly.

But now, he wouldn't make that choice.

Especially after seeing his target appear—there was no way he would turn back.

He tightened the throttle, charging straight at his target.

Bruce showed no surprise at Prowler's decision.

He brought the Batwing to a hover and shot out from the cockpit.

Utilizing the momentum of his fall and the strength of his armored suit, Bruce directly intercepted Prowler head-on.

Bruce knocked Prowler off his motorcycle.

With an agile flip, Bruce steadied himself, landing lightly on the ground.

Looking at the dazed Prowler, Bruce couldn't help but admit—no wonder this guy could be Spider-Man's enemy.

With physical fitness like this, he could easily overwhelm the majority of people.

"Your plan has failed." Bruce's voice was low and hoarse.

However, the slowly recovering Prowler merely laughed.

He clutched his chest—the spot where Bruce had slammed into him from above.

"Hahaha, cough."

Although the Prowler wanted to laugh out loud, it was evident that he was still suffering from the impact he had taken earlier.

He was struggling to catch his breath.

"I really don't understand why you superheroes insist on meddling in other people's family affairs." The Prowler straightened up with a grin, but the eyes hidden behind his mask were not focused on the Bat standing before him.

Instead, he was scanning the area, looking for possible escape routes and potential hostages he could use to his advantage.

Unfortunately, after the night of chaos in New York, the city's residents had become highly adept at emergency evacuations.

The streets were completely deserted.

Left with no other choice, the Prowler turned his gaze toward Bruce.

He clearly remembered their first encounter—this guy had no sense of honor, calling in backup right in the middle of their fight.

"This time, without your little sidekick, let's see how you get out of this!" The Prowler, not spotting any trace of that familiar red suit nearby, felt a renewed sense of hope.

Extending his mechanical claws, he lunged at Bruce.

With the aid of his enhanced suit, the Prowler closed the distance in an instant, his claws slicing through the air, aiming straight for Bruce's throat.

But Bruce swiftly bent backward, dodging the attack, and countered with a powerful kick to the Prowler's chest.

The impact sent the Prowler flying backward, while Bruce used the momentum to execute a backflip, landing smoothly.

The Prowler hit the ground hard.

Even with his enhanced physique and reinforced suit, taking repeated hits to the same spot was starting to take its toll.

One thing was clear: the man in front of him wasn't as strong as Spider-Man.

If it had been Spider-Man, he would probably be lying flat on the ground by now.

That was good news.

But also bad news.

Because knowing that this man wasn't a superhuman meant that his real threats weren't super speed or super strength—it was whatever gadgets he might have up his sleeve.

This time, the Prowler decided to wait and observe.

Bruce, however, remained motionless, standing there like a silent statue.

The Prowler wasn't sure what he was planning.

Then, a loud roaring sound filled the air, and he understood.

That guy had been controlling the aircraft overhead the whole time.

Just as he was preparing to guard against whatever weapon might be launched from the air, Bruce made his move.

A grappling hook shot out, locking onto the Prowler's body before he could react.

The sound of the Batwing's engines had drowned out the noise of the launcher, making it almost impossible to hear.

By the time the Prowler realized what was happening, he was already bound.

Bruce fired another grappling hook at a nearby apartment building, pulling both himself and the Prowler off the street.

"Why did you kill the Tinkerer?"

Bruce's question made the Prowler freeze for a moment—before he burst into laughter.

"You came after me just because of that guy? Ahahaha!!"

Bruce grabbed him by the collar and yanked him closer. "Tell me!"

"Do you know what my nephew fears the most?" The Prowler responded with a question of his own, deliberately avoiding Bruce's demand.

"Something's wrong with Miles," Jessica's voice came through Bruce's comms.
