Marvel Transmigration: I Possessed Iron Man

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Freezing Time, Burning Truths

How was he supposed to choose?

All three rewards were incredibly tempting. He knew exactly how deadly Tao's tongue strike was—it could pierce straight through a skull!

Then there was the Infinity Stone. Just as valuable. It could open wormholes, enable teleportation—an actual life-saving artifact.

"Hey! Stark, are you kneeling or not? My patience is wearing thin! This fiery beauty is about to die!" Osborn shouted, his face twisted in fury.

"Hmph. You really think someone like me, Tony Stark, would kneel that easily? She's just a secretary. And as the saying goes—when there's work, the secretary works. When there's not... well, she can be replaced," Aetheris said with feigned indifference.

Ding. The host has chosen to reject licking toes. Reward is being distributed.

Ding. Time Freeze Card has been issued. Host may retrieve it at any time.

"I don't buy it! Don't try to fool me. I've done my homework—this woman is definitely your lover! Otherwise, why would you go through so much trouble just to save her?" Norman Osborn snapped, suddenly switching to detective mode.

"From the time I kidnapped her to now, barely thirty minutes have passed. If she wasn't your beloved, would you really have reacted this fast?"

"So, there's only one truth—she's the most important person in your life!"

Clap, clap, clap. Aetheris couldn't help but applaud.

"Brilliant deduction. Honestly, Osborn, with a brain like that, why aren't you on a quiz show? What are you doing playing villain with me?"

"Pepper is just a regular employee at my company. But I treat my people like family. That's why Stark Industries thrives year after year—because I care!" Aetheris was so proud of his speech, he nearly clapped for himself.

"Utter BS! You think I'm buying that? Stark Industries lays off just as many people as my company does!" Norman Osborn was about to lose it.

"I've never seen someone so shameless!"

"Then tell me—how did you know Pepper is the most important woman in my life?" Aetheris suddenly asked.

"It was… someone told me," Norman Osborn stammered, nearly blurting out Victor's name.

"Heh. So it was Victor? That traitorous bastard. One beating and he folds. Pathetic!" Aetheris's eyes darkened with rage.

"Enough talk. Time Freeze!"

The moment the words left his mouth, everything around him fell silent. Even the damaged elevator came to a dead stop.

Sparks hung midair like fireflies caught in amber. It was an eerie, frozen world.

"What a shame it's a one-use card. If I had this power permanently, I wouldn't have to worry when that purple potato freak snaps his fingers." Aetheris frowned. But he wasn't willing to trade Pepper's safety for some hypothetical future threat.

Too many variables in the Marvel universe. One power wasn't enough to rewrite fate.

He lived in the moment. Especially when it came to protecting the woman in front of him.

Snatching the remote from Norman Osborn's hand, he was about to crush it, when an idea struck. Instead, he swapped Osborn's position with Pepper's.

"Paul, scan Pepper's body."

Ding. Scan complete. Miss Potts is stable and in good health.

"No way. Scan again. That maniac locked her in a tank filled with green gas. There's no way she's unharmed," Aetheris muttered, wondering if the machine was busted.

Ding. All physical indicators for Miss Potts are normal.

"Tsk. Machines are still machines. They're no Ultron-level AI, that's for sure."

After exactly one minute, the frozen world resumed motion.

But Pepper still hadn't woken up.

"What did you do to me?!" Norman Osborn shrieked in panic. He was now strapped to a cold metal frame.

He couldn't figure it out. Just seconds ago, he'd been in control—now he was the one bound and helpless. Had time betrayed him? Or had he simply aged overnight?

Or... was this some twisted dream?

But the cold metal beneath him made one thing clear: this was real.

"What do you think happens if I press this button?" Aetheris asked calmly, dragging a chair and taking a seat in front of Osborn.

"Stop joking! Let me down! I was just playing around!" Cold sweat poured down Norman's forehead. He knew exactly what that button did—it triggered a 100,000-volt current. Enough to fry someone alive.

"Joking? Are we even that close?" Aetheris's tone turned icy.

And without waiting for an answer, he pressed the button.

Bang!

Norman Osborn screamed wildly—but... nothing happened. No electricity.

"Huh? What the hell?" He opened his eyes and saw a fully armed Victor now standing where Aetheris had just been.

"Oh, look who showed up. Reinforcements?" Aetheris, now masked, turned around slowly, voice filled with scorn.

"Victor! I knew it was you, you backstabbing snake!"

"And a sneak attack, too? Disgraceful!" he spat.

"Damn you, Stark! You call me dishonorable? What about you?" Victor roared, his voice thick with emotion. "I've dedicated over thirty years of my life to Stark Industries. Maybe I didn't win glory, but I earned my place! And what do I get? Beaten to a pulp by a brat like you! What gives you the right?"

"You were just lucky to be born as Howard's son. That doesn't give you the right to treat everyone like garbage!"

"Oh, you're really laying it on thick now. Do you actually believe your own bull?" Aetheris sneered. He lived for these moments—tearing down Marvel villains word by word.

"You think I didn't know? That time I got kidnapped by armed militants in the Middle East—was that your doing? You wanted me dead just so you could take over Stark Industries!"

"So what if it was?" Victor shouted. "Stark Industries should've been mine! And you? You're just a spoiled playboy! All you do is drink, chase women, and waste money. You're not worthy of the chairman's seat! That position should've gone to me!"
