Marvel Transmigration: I Possessed Iron Man

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Hidden Desires

Women with that slender face, explosive figure, and tall, elegant build — they were exactly Aetheris's type.

Though Aetheris didn't spare Mary Jane a second glance, she, on the other hand, locked onto him like a radar tracking its target as if he were a wish-granting dragon straight out of legend.

"And this is…?" Mary Jane approached, visibly nervous.

Standing before her was a man dressed in luxurious attire, exuding a presence that clearly marked him as a member of the elite. Beside him stood a stunning, elegant woman.

People like this — the upper crust were everything Mary Jane aspired to.

She wanted to be a superstar, to break into high society.

That's why an ordinary guy like Peter Parker never caught her eye. It wasn't until Peter gained his Spider-Man powers that Mary Jane began to look at him differently, the subtle spark of flirtation appearing in her eyes.

The movies always tried to convince audiences that Mary Jane didn't recognize Spider-Man in costume. But seriously, who were they fooling?

What is this, Superman logic? Put on a pair of glasses and suddenly no one knows who you are?

Your voice, your height, your build, your mannerisms — all exactly the same.

And you think just because you slipped into a skin-tight suit and mask, the girl you like won't recognize you?

Wrong. Completely wrong.

Even if you turned to dust, your goddess would still recognize you, you eternal backup.

That's why Mary Jane knew it was Peter from the moment Spider-Man first saved her. Peter just chose to lie to himself, clinging to the fantasy that it was his kindness and pure heart that finally won over the girl, snatching her away from Harry Osborn — the rich, handsome heir.

What a joke.

Even in TV dramas, unless you're some superpowered, handsome alien, the girl never dumps the wealthy second lead for the nice guy.

It's never about your so-called precious qualities. Those don't earn you any points.

The only thing that truly moves a goddess… is possessing something far more valuable than money — rare, extraordinary talent.

And that talent must offer the thrilling possibility of smashing through society's barriers.

"Heh, let me introduce you. This is the Executive CEO of Stark Industries — Mr. Tony Stark," Peter Parker announced proudly.

"It's really you? Mr. Stark?" Mary Jane completely ignored Spider-Man, leaving him quietly nursing his broken heart.

"I thought you looked familiar just now. So, you are…?" Mary Jane cast a suspicious glance at Spider-Man.

She had never heard of Peter Parker having such wealthy connections.

"Just a twist of fate. I'm a good friend of Peter's now. Isn't that right, Peter?" Aetheris draped an arm casually over Spider-Man's shoulder.

"Yes, Mary Jane. Mr. Stark and I get along great. He even offered me a potential job at Stark Industries after graduation!" Peter bragged.

That actually made Aetheris raise an eyebrow. He didn't expect the kind, naive, simple Spider-Man to brag so shamelessly.

"Really? Then congratulations, Peter." Mary Jane looked genuinely envious.

But her eyes never left Aetheris's handsome, charming face — even though the beautiful woman beside him was already throwing daggers with her gaze.

Hmph. You think a look like that scares me? Mary Jane sneered inwardly. If you've got the guts to steal a man, let's see you follow through.

Truth be told, Mary Jane wasn't always this petty. She had dated the star quarterback in high school and caught the attention of both the superpowered Spider-Man and the ridiculously wealthy Harry Osborn.

That alone made her one of the top-tier women in the Marvel universe.

Tonight, Aetheris had gained a charm boost from the system. To any woman with even a sliver of beauty, he now radiated an irresistible allure — an invisible force pulling them in, making them want to get closer, to explore, to fall hopelessly under his spell.

"I'll head out first. I'll be in touch in a few days. See you," Aetheris bid farewell to Spider-Man and Mary Jane.

The roar of the Audi R8's engine echoed through the air, gradually fading into the distance.

Mary Jane watched the taillights with undisguised longing in her eyes.

"How on earth do you know a big shot like Stark?" Mary Jane asked, clearly intrigued.

"Uh…" Spider-Man, ever naive, immediately spilled everything to his beloved goddess without hesitation.

"Wow… Rich, handsome, incredibly talented, and he can fight? That's almost unfair!" Mary Jane practically wished she could turn back time.

If she had known she'd meet Tony Stark tonight, she never would've agreed to that date with the guy in the sports car.

"Just now—" Spider-Man suddenly remembered overhearing Mary Jane's argument earlier.

"You must have heard everything," Mary Jane sighed, sinking into self-pity as her current situation hit her.

"Every family argues sometimes. Happy families are all alike, but every unhappy family is miserable in its own unique way," Spider-Man offered like some accidental therapist. He couldn't bear seeing his goddess upset.

"Don't your aunt and uncle ever fight?"

"Oh, sometimes they shout pretty loud too." In his effort to win her over, Spider-Man didn't hesitate to throw his aunt and uncle under the bus.

"Listen, Mary Jane… that day with Flash"

"Oh, you scared us so much that day."

Flash, Mary Jane's football-star boyfriend, had foolishly provoked Peter Parker — newly empowered and ended up flying over ten meters with a single punch.

"He's lucky you didn't give him a black eye before graduation!" Mary Jane teased as she slowly walked over, her low-cut top revealing the explosive figure beneath her coat.

Spider-Man felt his nose heat up, as if something was about to start flowing.

"Are you really going to work for Stark Industries?" Mary Jane leaned in, her flawless skin and delicate pores now inches from Spider-Man's face.

A heady, intoxicating fragrance drifted from her, completely scrambling his senses.

"I-I-I…" Spider-Man stammered, utterly flustered by her proximity.

He had never been this close to his goddess before. His brain was shutting down.

"I'm not sure yet. What about you? What do you plan to do after graduation?" Peter quickly tried to redirect the conversation.

"I want to move to the city. I want to leave Queens behind. I can't wait to get out of here. I want to"

"Tell me," Peter encouraged gently.

"I want to be an actress. The kind who performs on stage," Mary Jane confessed, gazing into Spider-Man's eyes, leaving him flustered and unsure where to look.

"Really? That's amazing! You were always incredible in the school plays!" Peter Parker struggled to keep his eyes from drifting to more… distracting places.

"When you played Cinderella, I cried my eyes out!"
