Marvel Transmigration: I Possessed Iron Man

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: A Visit to the Parkers

"I'm a fan of yours too. Can I get your autograph?"

"Of course."

Aetheris scribbled a line in his duty notebook: Go out with joy, return home in peace.

"Oh, that's such a philosophical line," Sheriff Oliver remarked with a broad smile.

"Just a little something," Aetheris replied modestly.

"Thank you for saving my life. I'd like to invite you to my home if that's alright?" Old Parker approached as the other officers escorted the blond man away.

"No problem. My girlfriend's still waiting in the car," Aetheris said.

"Fantastic! Mr. Big Shot is actually coming to my house!" All of Peter Parker's gloom from earlier vanished, replaced by the excitement of a teenager.

"Aunt May, I'm home!" Old Parker called as he pulled his wife into a tight embrace.

"What's gotten into you, Ben? You seem different tonight. Did that troublesome kid Peter act up again?" Aunt May asked with a gentle pat on his back.

"You might not believe it," Old Parker began, then recounted everything that had happened that night.

"Oh my goodness. Thank heaven for looking out for us."

Knock knock knock!

There was a knock at the door.

"Who could be visiting this late?" Aunt May wondered aloud.

"It's the man who saved my life!" Ben Parker said with a chuckle.

Upstairs, the young Spider-Man had already changed into fresh clothes. The moment he heard it was Stark at the door, he leapt down the stairs in one bound.

"Hold on, I'll get it!" he called, rushing to the door.

"This kid is always so reckless. He hasn't matured one bit," Aunt May said with a hint of reproach, though her voice was filled with affection.

"Mr. Stark, please come in!" Spider-Man greeted them as he opened the door, his eyes landing on the stunning couple outside.

"This is your girlfriend? She's beautiful!"

Nova wore a flowing white dress. Her graceful, shapely legs peeked through with every movement—fair, smooth, and slender—making Spider-Man too shy to stare for long.

Her long, jet-black hair cascaded down like a waterfall beside her delicate face, with faint dimples forming when she smiled.

Even Spider-Man, who only had eyes for his neighbor Mary Jane, had to admit that Nova's beauty stood out, even among Westerners.

As expected of my lifelong idol, Mr. Big Shot. His girlfriend is just as incredible.

"Welcome, welcome!" The Parker couple came to the door to greet them.

"We're honored to have you. Sorry we didn't come out sooner. Please forgive us," Old Parker said, trying his best to sound formal.

"Not at all. We're the ones intruding so late. It's truly our honor. We came in a rush and didn't bring much," Aetheris replied, nodding toward Nova.

"Aunt May, this is a diamond necklace I brought for you. I hope you like it."

"Oh my, this must've cost a fortune! I really can't accept this," Aunt May exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as soon as she saw the glittering necklace.

Heh—women! No matter the age, from toddlers to grandmothers, none can resist shiny things.

"It's nothing valuable, just a few hundred bucks," Nova said, reciting the line Aetheris had prepared for her.

Even Aunt May didn't buy that, let alone anyone else. A blind man could tell this diamond was worth far more than a few hundred bucks. The price tag was missing at least three zeros.

"You saved my life, and now you're spending money on gifts? I don't feel right about this," Ben Parker said sincerely. He'd always been the type to take the short end of the stick.

Peter Parker had clearly inherited that admirable quality—grateful, compassionate, and selfless.

"Our meeting was fate. Heaven arranged it," Aetheris said with a smile, waving his hand.

"This necklace might mean a lot to you, but to me—Mr. Big Shot—it's just a drop in the bucket."

"It's like if I had ten dollars and gave you a dime, I wouldn't even notice. But if you had ten dollars and gave me nine, that'd be a whole different story."

"If you had a million dollars, would you give me nine hundred thousand?" Peter asked playfully.

"I would!" Spider-Man answered quickly.

"And if you had a hundred thousand?"

"I would!"

"What about a hundred dollars, would you give me ninety?" Aetheris asked with a grin.

"No way!" Peter answered firmly.

"Why not?"

"Because I actually do have a hundred dollars!"

After a simple cup of coffee, midnight had arrived.

"It's getting late. We should be heading out," Aetheris said, rising to leave while gently holding Nova's hand.

"I really don't know how to thank you. If it weren't for your help, Peter and I would've regretted it for the rest of our lives," Aunt May said tearfully, her gratitude overflowing.

"Alright, from now on, we're friends. And isn't risking everything for a friend one of life's greatest virtues?"

"By the way, Peter, any plans now that you've graduated?" Aetheris asked with a smile.

"I'm not sure. Just taking things one step at a time," the young Spider-Man replied, still uncertain about his future.

Originally, Uncle Ben's death tonight would've plunged him into guilt and set him on the path of fighting crime and protecting lives.

But whether that path was right or wrong remained unclear.

After all, what he was doing was essentially a police officer's job, and it had already disrupted his own life.

"I'll be in touch in a few days!" Aetheris made a phone call gesture.

"See you!"

"Bye!"

Just as Aetheris turned to leave, a loud argument broke out at the neighboring house.

"Did she bring back the beer?"

"What?"

"I want beer!"

"Go get it yourself!"

"I paid for it!"

"Stop yelling!"

"Shut up!"

"You're as stupid as your mother! Get out of my sight!"

"You're drunk! Do you even realize that?"

"Where are you going? Where the hell are you going?"

"You still haven't washed the damn dishes! Get back here and wash them!"

"Why don't you wash them yourself?"

"Get your ass over here and wash the dishes!"

"You made the mess, you clean it. I'm going out!"

The door slammed shut, making the windows rattle.

"Mary Jane!" Peter Parker called out, spotting a young woman in a red trench coat stepping outside.

"Sorry, I have to go," Peter told Aetheris hurriedly.

"Of course," Aetheris replied, glancing at Mary Jane.

She had long, wine-red hair and a fair, curvy figure, exuding the charm of the classic girl-next-door.

To the inexperienced young Spider-Man, a woman like her was practically a nuclear bomb.

But she wasn't Aetheris's type.

In his past life, Aetheris had always seen her as the textbook "green tea" girl—changing boyfriends more often than changing outfits.

Her looks didn't appeal to him either.

Only women on the level of Betty Ross or the Scarlet Witch could truly stir his heart or maybe someone like Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, Thor's first love.
