Marvel: The Sorcerer in America

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: What are you doing?

With incredible speed, Lance pulled the rope and dragged the fallen demon bird, then with all his strength, he clenched his fist and delivered a powerful blow to the head of the monstrous bird.

Bang!!

The head of the demon bird was embedded in the floor, creating a large hole there.

This demon bird turned out to be their leader, and its death made the others extremely furious. In such a state, they seemed to lose their sanity, filled only with blind rage and a drive for revenge.

Their anger was so intense that they leaped forward recklessly, creating a loud sound like a horn that shook the air, and dust flew around the ceiling of the room.

"Hehe."

Lance's eyes glinted with cynicism. Instead of retreating, Lance stepped forward, toward the rampaging demon birds. The golden light emanating from Lance's body began to spread, condensing and transforming into a giant figure three meters tall. The figure wore a golden helmet, golden armor, and a pale yellow cloak, resembling an ancient general.

Lance's hand, which held the "rope," had transformed into a large sword resembling a scythe with two blades on the back. The sword looked like an ancient weapon used to pierce armor and combat heavy cavalry. The handle of the sword was as thick as an adult's arm, and the blade was filled with sharp, gleaming serrations.

This golden general stepped forward with authority and immediately attacked the remaining three demon birds. As the serrated sword moved, the light radiating from the cold weapon exploded loudly, splitting the air and creating terrifying destruction.

*Laughing!!*

The Spring and Autumn sword, shining yellow, sliced through the air with incredible speed, cleaving the chests of the two monster birds. The slash left a bright red line in the air, as if it were splitting the dark night.

The bodies of the two strange birds were perfectly split apart. The terrifying force of the slash shattered all the bones within them, as if a tremendous explosion had occurred inside their bodies. The broken bones pierced through the flesh, while the bone marrow and blood mixed, gushing out like a wicked fountain. In an instant, both creatures fell to the ground like two lifeless clumps of mud.

After easily cleaving them, the cold sword light continued to glide relentlessly, cutting through the air until it reached the end of the factory building. The dilapidated yet sturdy concrete wall at the end was struck by an extraordinary force, creating a deep crescent-shaped gap. The light shot into the darkness, shimmering under the dim moonlight, until it gradually faded about ten meters from the scene.

The *Golden Light Incantation* was truly remarkable. Normally, this spell could only transform energy into two large fists when used by a *Taoist Master Hall*. However, Lance had pushed its limits, creating something that could even be called a mimicry of *Susano'o*'s power.

"Truly amazing!"

"It's like a laser cut!"

The two female police detectives could only swallow hard, frozen in place by the sight they had just witnessed.

The last strange bird, still remaining, screeched in a high-pitched tone before leaping to attack Lance. However, with a light step, Lance gracefully dodged. In a half-turn movement, both of Lance's hands made a roaring sound as he struck hard with the back of his sword.

*Bang!!*

The strange bird was thrown into the air, its body crashing against the wall with a loud thud. A distance of more than ten meters was not enough to dampen the impact of the blow. The bird's spine was shattered, causing excruciating pain. The creature could only lie on the ground, whimpering pitifully, no longer able to threaten anyone.

Lance stood still for a moment, his eyes then gazing at the now completely paralyzed strange bird. Lance's finger twitched, but he ultimately let it be, choosing to relax.

"Wow!"

The Golden Armored General, along with the crystal-clear Spring and Autumn sword, slowly disintegrated. They transformed into shimmering strands of stardust, like shards of ice crushed by great power. The particles floated, carried by the cold night wind, and vanished into the darkness of the silent hall.

At the same time that the Golden Armored General disappeared, the protective shield surrounding the two female police detectives also vanished, as if it had never existed.

Sidney, assisted by Nancy, walked closer while suppressing pain in her legs. Despite this, Sidney managed to grumble in protest: "Don't tell me... you deliberately let one of those monsters live for research."

Lance remained silent, his eyes calmly gazing at them. Meanwhile, Sidney and Nancy began to realize something: every piece of flesh and blood from the slain monsters dissolved so quickly that it was faster than ice melting under the scorching sun. The bodies that had just been so terrifying now disappeared without a trace, leaving an odd emptiness.

Lance finally turned to Sidney, a faint grin adorning his face. Without providing an explanation, Lance quickly moved his fingers. Two glowing blue talismans shot out from Lance's hands, each gently attaching to the eyes of the two female detectives.

"Hey! What are you doing?!"

Nancy exclaimed in surprise, reflexively pulling Sidney back a step. However, it wasn't long before Nancy's body began to tremble violently.

Nancy's pupils began to tremble, indicating that something strange was happening. Sidney also froze in place, her body stiff, even afraid to breathe too loudly.

What they saw changed everything.

As the talisman attached, their view, which had previously been nothing but darkness, began to shift. The thick night now appeared brighter, as if covered by a thin layer of dark film that had been lifted. However, this clarity brought forth a far more horrifying sight.

On the ground, in the sky, in the corners of the room... even on their own bodies, something more terrifying than the strange birds before began to emerge.

There were long-legged goldfish floating in the air with slow movements, strange mushrooms singing while swaying as if dancing on the ground, and frogs with two rows of thin legs crouching in the corner, staring with glowing eyes.
