Marvel : The God Of Punishment System

Chapter 128: Chapter 128: The Ultimate Space Mystery Magician

After digging into it, Jason quickly figured out what this reward meant.

This prize was similar to the solar power he'd received before - both were some kind of "Divinity." But there was a key difference. Last time it had been raw strength or energy, but this time it was magic.

For his previous reward, the system had automatically designated the sun as his power source. This time was different - the system would grant him magical power, but HE got to choose the source! How strong his abilities would be depended mainly on what he selected as his power source!

For instance, if he wanted fire magic, and chose a small campfire as his source versus the actual sun, the difference in power would obviously be millions of times greater!

Jason could barely contain his excitement. The potential of this ability was insanely high!

So what should he pick as his magical source? Ideally something with a single powerful attribute that already possessed tremendous power on its own.

The ocean? Mountains? The sun again?

They were all powerful, but something seemed missing. The possibilities didn't feel wide open enough.

His eyes narrowed as a thought struck him - what if he defined his source as Hell itself? Or maybe the Dark Dimension?

If that worked, couldn't he potentially unify all of Hell and become its supreme lord? Or with the Dark Dimension, he could challenge Dormammu and take over half of his realm!

Unfortunately, after communicating with the system, he discovered these options wouldn't work. The system required something more concrete than conceptual as a power source. Moreover, this source had to be something visible or tangible.

Otherwise, he could've just defined his source as the Living Tribunal or the One-Above-All and been totally overpowered!

As he pondered, a lightning bolt of inspiration struck. He smacked his forehead and pulled out a familiar pair of gloves.

The mechanical gloves with two Infinity Stones embedded in them.

After checking with the system, he confirmed he could indeed use the gems - or rather the primordial cosmic forces they represented - as his power source.

But he needed to choose just one.

Mind Stone or Space Stone?

Jason frowned, weighing his options carefully.

If he chose the Mind Stone, he'd probably transform into a mind-controlling god that would make Professor X look like an amateur. Earth would hold no secrets from him, and he could dominate the entire planet in seconds.

But...

Jason shook his head dismissively.

It's just one planet. What's the point of controlling it?

In the Marvel Universe, while Earth attracted many heroes and served as ground zero for major events, the truly ultimate powers existed far beyond Earth's atmosphere.

Choosing mind power would cost him the chance to leave Earth and face the larger universe. He'd be nothing more than a local big shot.

Jason confirmed his decision to the system: choose the Space Stone as his power source!

In an instant, the world transformed before his eyes.

The space around him seemed to deconstruct into layers!

He suddenly understood that the entire world was composed of hundreds of different sub-spaces. Some were material space, others time space, soul space, and more...

These complex spaces stacked together in intricate patterns to form normal three-dimensional reality.

With just a thought, he could now peel away sections of sub-space at will, causing entire areas to collapse!

He even perceived his own Absolute Zero Dimension across many layers of space! His stockpile of items existed in an extremely specialized space - a multi-layered pocket dimension with distorted time.

Beyond all this, Jason also sensed the existence of dimensional barriers!

Earth, Hell, Heaven, and other dimensions were all separated by these cosmic walls. Normally, penetrating these barriers required complex spells, magic circles, or brute force to tear them open.

Now, facing these previously impenetrable barriers, Jason felt the same familiarity a master butcher feels when cutting through a side of beef. With minimal effort, he could follow the natural lines and textures to pass through them effortlessly!

He had unlocked the mysteries of space itself!

His mastery in this area already far surpassed the current Supreme Sorceress, the Ancient One!

Rising from the throne, he strode to the open area outside the palace. Thousands of troops prepared for the expedition stood ready, awaiting Jason's command to march against their enemies!

Looking over the assembled army, Jason flexed his newfound power. Invisible barriers instantly materialized throughout the space.

In a heartbeat, everyone present was locked inside invisible "cells"!

Most didn't realize anything had happened since they were standing still. Only Mephisto, who had been about to step forward, smacked his nose against something solid and yelped in pain.

Confused, he felt around himself and discovered four invisible walls had appeared around him without any warning!

In all his millennia as Lord of Hell, he'd never experienced anything like this!

He turned toward Jason, finding him watching with an amused half-smile.

Mephisto felt ice crawl up his spine. This guy did this? When did he get such abilities?

It's official. I'm never escaping from his grasp now!

After a moment's thought, Jason dismissed the containment cells. Then he turned his gaze toward the distance.

With his enhanced spatial perception, he clearly sensed a massive portal in that direction!

With a casual wave, he summoned Mephisto forward.

"Which Hell Lord's territory is that way?" Jason asked, pointing.

Mephisto looked confused. "Which direction?"

"Where the huge teleportation array is."

A look of recognition crossed Mephisto's face. "Ah, you mean Lucifer's territory. That teleportation array must be the Hell-Heaven transfer gate they built after invading Heaven. But..."

Mephisto frowned deeply. "They've already built it? That's happening faster than I anticipated!"

His expression grew serious. "If that's the case, I don't recommend attacking the other two lords. The fact they constructed the teleportation array so quickly means Heaven's strength isn't what it used to be. They must have gained significant advantage to build it this rapidly!"

Jason's expression remained neutral. "Tell me your plan for attacking Heaven. What made you so confident? How did you dare storm directly into Heaven?"

Mephisto shrugged. "Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't dream of it. But we received confirmed intelligence."

"What intelligence?"

"God isn't home!" Mephisto revealed. "Apparently the big guy left Heaven about a hundred years ago. He divided his divine power among several deputies - collectively called proxy gods - and then vanished. Faced with such a golden opportunity, we couldn't resist."

"So you all just charged into Heaven like that? Weren't you worried they'd trap you inside and pick you off?"

"Of course not. These proxy gods are like squabbling children - they have conflicts with each other. We've had undercover agents in Heaven who figured everything out long ago. The fact Lucifer and his crew built the teleportation array so quickly proves Heaven is even weaker than we thought!"

Jason's mind raced with possibilities. "How many portals have you prepared?"

"Just one."

"So if I close the door from this side, they can't come back, right?"

Mephisto's eyes widened in shock. "What are you planning to do?"
