On the other side of the city, Wilson Fisk and his wife Vanessa had just wrapped up a pleasant shopping trip and were driving home.

The city's neon lights flickered across the dark skyline, and the trees lining the street swayed gently in the night breeze. Everything felt warm, peaceful—serene.

But that calm didn't last.

Out of nowhere, a massive truck barreled into view like a beast gone rogue, charging at them at full speed with no sign of braking.

Kingpin immediately sensed something was off. Without hesitation, he activated his powers—his body crystallizing into gleaming diamond—and threw himself over Vanessa like a living shield.

With a deafening crash, the truck smashed into their car. The impact was catastrophic, killing the driver instantly. But Kingpin's diamond form absorbed the collision completely unscathed.

The vehicle erupted into flames and smoke.

From the wreckage, a man in black tactical gear and a black mask leapt out of the truck. It was the Winter Soldier.

He stared coldly at the mangled car, his face devoid of emotion.

To him, missions like this were routine.

He hadn't been briefed that Kingpin had superhuman abilities. According to intel, both Wilson Fisk and Vanessa were ordinary civilians. No one could've survived that hit—or so he thought. He tapped his earpiece and made a call.

"Target is dead. Mission accomplished."

On the other end, Brock Rumlow (Crossbones) exploded in rage. "I said capture him alive! Alive! I didn't authorize a goddamn kill!"

The Winter Soldier cut the call without a word. In his world, missions only had one ending—death. Capture was never in his playbook.

Besides, he'd taken out another target with a vehicle before—decades ago. That one had been named Stark. The memory flickered briefly in his mind. He shook his head, turned his back to the burning wreckage, and began walking away as the flames grew higher.

But this wasn't like thirty years ago.

A thunderous blast erupted behind him, shaking the air. His eardrums rang.

He turned around instinctively—and froze.

From the fire, a figure emerged, bathed in blinding light, his diamondized body shimmering in the chaos. He cradled an unconscious Vanessa in his arms, his face twisted with sorrow and fury.

Wilson Fisk—Kingpin—gently laid Vanessa down and whispered something soft to her.

Then he looked up, eyes burning, and locked onto the Winter Soldier.

"You think just because I retired I'm an easy target?" he roared. "Every damn one of you thinks you can come after me and my family?"

His voice boomed like thunder, shaking the street.

Kingpin was livid—and yet somewhere beneath that fury, thankful. If Alex Ray hadn't given him the Gleam Gleam Fruit, he'd be dead. If Alex had given him a different power, maybe he could've survived—but Vanessa? She might not have been so lucky.

He'd grown soft since retiring. That ends now.

Vanessa nearly died before his eyes. That thought alone filled him with rage.

For the first time in years, the Winter Soldier's expression faltered. His eyes widened in disbelief.

The intel said Kingpin was a normal man.

Nowhere had it mentioned a diamond-skinned juggernaut.

Elsewhere, in a concealed Hydra surveillance room, Director Alexander Pierce watched the entire scene through the live feed from the Winter Soldier's body cam.

His face went pale. He slammed his fist on the table, furious.

"What the hell is going on?! Since when is Kingpin a superpowered threat?! What's the point of our intelligence division?!"

The agents around him lowered their heads in silence. One unfortunate soul spoke up, "Sir, according to all previous intel, Wilson Fisk was… just an ordinary civilian—"

Pierce didn't let him finish.

He pulled out a pistol and shot the man dead.

Smoke curled from the muzzle. The room fell into a deeper silence.

Pierce scanned the rest of the agents, his voice like ice. "I don't want excuses. I want results. If something like this happens again, you'll all join him."

Then, his tone hardened. "Tell the Winter Soldier to abort immediately."

Across the room, no one dared move—until Crossbones spoke, pointing at the screen.

"It might already be too late."

Kingpin was already charging. His diamond body tore across the asphalt like a wrecking ball.

He slammed into the Winter Soldier with terrifying speed and force. The impact made the assassin feel like his organs were going to burst.

He flew backward like a ragdoll.

In the control room, the agents could only watch helplessly. If the Winter Soldier lost this fight, the mission was over—and failure wasn't something Pierce forgave.

They held their breath, already anticipating the punishment awaiting them.

On the battlefield, the Winter Soldier lay sprawled on the ground, trying to move. Pain lanced through his body.

Kingpin's strength, amplified by his diamond form, was monstrous. Every bone in the assassin's body screamed in agony.

He had prepared for the possibility of failure. Even death.

But not like this.

Not today.

He stared up at the massive man approaching him, each step pounding into his chest like a countdown to execution.

Kingpin didn't slow down. He grabbed the Winter Soldier by the throat and lifted him effortlessly into the air.

A grim smile curled his lips. This would end now.

The Winter Soldier struggled. His cybernetic arm clawed at Kingpin's grip, but he couldn't break free.

In the Hydra control room, Director Pierce clenched his fists. The sight disturbed him more than he liked to admit.

He turned to Crossbones. "Call him. Now. Don't reveal who we are. Just buy time."

As ruthless as he was, Pierce didn't want to lose the Winter Soldier. Super soldiers were too valuable—resources you didn't just throw away.

Crossbones hesitated, then muttered under his breath. "You want mercy now? Dream on."

But he obeyed, pulling out his phone and dialing.

Meanwhile, Kingpin had no intention of asking questions. He wasn't interested in who ordered the hit.

He just wanted the assassin dead.

Suddenly, the phone in the Winter Soldier's pocket rang.

Kingpin narrowed his eyes, grabbed the device, and answered without breaking his grip.

A familiar voice came through—Crossbones.

"Would you believe me if I said this was all just a misunderstanding? We can offer compensation. Please… let him go."
