The Green Goblin looked at Alex Ray, who suddenly appeared in front of him, a flicker of surprise flashing in his eyes.
His original plan was to blow up Peter Parker and Harry Osborn, but now that there was one more person, it didn't make much difference to him.
After all, whether he killed two people or three, his purpose was the same.
However, just as the Green Goblin was about to detonate the bomb, he suddenly realized something was wrong.
The bomb that was supposed to fly toward Peter abruptly changed direction and flew straight at him. Shocked, he wondered what was happening.
The pumpkin bomb changed direction because Alex used magnetic control.
"Boom!!" The deafening explosion rattled the air. Peter instinctively hugged Harry tightly, bracing for the shockwave.
But surprisingly, he didn't feel any impact. Confused, he turned his head and saw Alex using magnetism to manipulate the surrounding steel into a solid wall that blocked the explosion's force.
Peter looked at Alex with envy. "So, Alex has powers too?" he exclaimed. He had always thought Alex was an ordinary guy but hadn't expected such formidable abilities.
Alex didn't respond to Peter's words.
With a teasing glint in his eyes, he watched Peter clutch Harry closely.
Alex thought the two were truly devoted to each other. No wonder Peter had been so fierce protecting Harry in the past. Harry still stuck by Peter, helping him through his troubles.
Peter noticed Alex's expression and felt a little embarrassed.
He realized he might have been too blunt. After all, Alex's companions all had powers, so he himself should have some strength too.
They never expected Alex was quietly teasing them in his heart.
Harry's eyes shone with envy and frustration as he looked at Alex. Though he didn't know him well, Harry could sense the powerful aura radiating from Alex.
Harry began reflecting on himself—why he didn't have powers, why he couldn't change his fate like Peter.
He longed for powers so he wouldn't be tortured by the Green Goblin and so Peter wouldn't get hurt because of him.
He imagined that if he had powers, maybe he could rewrite his destiny, maybe even save his father and stop him from falling in front of him.
A sharp pang struck Harry's heart.
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to calm himself.
He knew reality was cruel—he couldn't change the past, but he couldn't give up on the future.
Alex watched them hold onto each other for a long moment and couldn't help but point at them: "How long are you two going to hug each other?"
Peter and Harry were snapped out of their trance. Realizing they were still clinging to each other tightly, an awkward blush spread across their faces. They exchanged glances and quickly separated as if they had thought the same thing.
Alex smiled quietly, saying nothing further.
He waved his hand, and an invisible magnetic force gently moved the steel wall aside.
Seeing Alex manipulate steel so effortlessly, Peter and Harry showed expressions of envy. Peter suddenly disliked his spider abilities, thinking compared to Alex's, his own powers were weak.
When Alex removed the steel wall, the ruined aftermath of the explosion came into view—and the Green Goblin lay on the ground, his fate uncertain.
Alex didn't approach but used magnetism to slowly lift the Green Goblin so he could inspect him clearly.
Then, looking at the dying Green Goblin, he calmly asked, "I heard you prepared other surprises for Peter. Care to tell me what they are?"
Though seriously injured, the Green Goblin managed a sinister smile and said with difficulty, "Of course, it'll be fun—you'll see soon enough."
Peter's expression instantly turned anxious, a flash of panic in his eyes. "Did you capture Mary too?"
His words revealed deep concern; it was obvious he was extremely worried about Mary Jane's safety.
Peter's doubts were not baseless.
He recalled everything that happened today—it was impossible for Harry to have sent a text while tied up, so Mary's situation might be just as bad.
After all, Mary wasn't someone who would text him lightly.
Faced with Peter's questioning, the seriously wounded Green Goblin didn't answer directly but let out a chilling laugh.
The laughter was full of sarcasm and mockery, as if belittling their ignorance and helplessness.
Though the Green Goblin didn't answer, Peter and Harry read the meaning behind his smile and laughter.
Their mood instantly darkened, fear and worry flooding their hearts.
Alex didn't let the Green Goblin off. He pressed on, "Do you know others who have traveled from parallel universes like you?"
His tone was cautious and serious.
The Green Goblin was stunned by the question, then laughed again—this time even more wildly and unrestrained.
Seeing no intention to answer, Alex stopped asking. Instead, he pinched the Green Goblin, and life quietly slipped from the villain's body.
Before dying, the Green Goblin's original personality seemed to surface.
He raised his head weakly and said slowly to Harry, "Kid… I'm sorry."
The words were filled with guilt and regret, like a final farewell.
Peter and Harry were overcome with mixed emotions as they watched the Green Goblin's lifeless body go still.
Peter was desperate. The wounds on his body still ached, but his worry far outweighed his pain.
He struggled to get up and search for Mary, but Alex held him back.
"Peter, in your current state, you'd only be throwing your life away," Alex said firmly, his eyes full of concern and determination.
"Leave the rest to me. I'll bring Mary back safely. Trust me."
Peter's face flushed at the mention of Mary. "My Mary…"
He murmured softly, voice filled with endless worry and longing.
Alex said no more. He turned and flew into the sky, beginning his search for Mary.
Suddenly, screens and televisions all across New York City lit up. Passersby stopped to watch.
Alex glanced at the giant screen and saw two figures in strange costumes: Vulture and Venom Spider-Man.
Venom Spider-Man—Eddie Brock—spoke slowly, his voice echoing through the city: "Hello everyone, I am your future superhero star, Venom. Today, I want to play a game with Peter—or rather, Spider-Man."
As he finished, the screen showed a woman hanging from a bridge.
Her body swayed in the air, looking as if she could fall any moment.
The Vulture stood beside her, pride and provocation in his eyes.
"You have choose, would you save this lady…" Vulture said proudly to the camera.
Before he finished, Venom spoke again from another camera angle, "Or would you save them?"
The camera panned to a room in the TV station building where all the staff were tied up in one place, their faces etched with fear and helplessness.
