Peter returned home feeling relaxed and hopeful.

His phone buzzed with a text message. He glanced at it curiously—it was a date invitation from Mary Jane, his longtime crush, and another message from Harry Osborn inviting him over.

Peter didn't think twice about Harry's invitation.

Harry had always been a close friend. Their bond ran deep. They often hung out, played video games, and shared the ups and downs of life. Harry's place was practically Peter's second home. The door had always been open to him, and Peter had never imagined anything sinister behind such an invite.

But the message from Mary filled Peter with joy.

Since becoming Spider-Man, his life had taken a strange turn, but he never dared dream that Mary would be the one to ask him out. Yet here it was—an unexpected miracle on his screen.

Peter's heart raced, and a flush crept up his cheeks. Naive and inexperienced as he was, it never crossed his mind that this might be a trap.

He stared at both messages, torn.

He wanted to see Harry, but he also wanted to meet Mary right away.

Eventually, he decided on a compromise—he'd visit Harry first, then head out to meet Mary.

So he left home in a hurry and made his way to Harry's place.

When Peter arrived, though, he immediately sensed something was wrong.

The house was dark. Not a single light was on.

Confused, Peter approached and reached for the door—only to find it was already ajar.

A cold unease crept over him.

Carefully, he opened the door and stepped inside.

The silence was unsettling. Only the pale moonlight spilling through the windows lit the room, casting long shadows across the floor.

Peter called out to Harry a few times. No answer.

He moved through the house, noting the chaos—furniture overturned, drawers pulled out. The place looked ransacked.

His heart pounded faster. This was no casual hangout.

He gently pushed open Harry's bedroom door—and froze.

Harry was suspended from the ceiling, bound tightly with thick rope. His face was pale. He was clearly unconscious.

Panic and fury exploded in Peter's chest. He rushed forward, frantically searching for anything he could use to cut Harry down.

But just as he focused on freeing his friend, a sharp gust of cold wind blew from behind.

Peter spun around.

A figure emerged from the shadows—dressed in a dark green combat suit, grinning wickedly, moonlight glinting off a weapon in his hand.

Peter's stomach dropped. He had walked into an ambush.

But instead of backing down, he quickly dodged the first incoming strike.

"What the hell—who are you? Why did you hurt Harry?!" Peter shouted, anger and confusion mixing in his voice.

The man in green sneered. "Little Spider... just teaching my son a lesson. What's wrong with that?"

Peter's eyes widened in disbelief. "You're... Uncle Osborn?! No... wait—you know who I am. You're not from this world. You're from another universe!"

Peter hadn't been wearing his suit. His identity should've been safe. The only explanation was that this man—this version of Norman Osborn—came from a different reality.

But the Green Goblin didn't give him time to dwell on it.

"I'm not that pathetic Osborn," the Goblin snarled. "I'm the Green Goblin. And you, little spider, are my entertainment tonight."

With that, he lunged at Peter, fast and brutal, like a wild predator.

Peter met him head-on. The two clashed in a blur of fists and feet, dancing violently in the moonlight.

Peter weaved and dodged, trying to land his own hits while avoiding the Goblin's lethal blows. He needed to keep the fight away from Harry—and get him down.

Spotting an opening, Peter sprang forward, clenched his fists, and smashed them into the Goblin's chest.

The Goblin stumbled back.

Peter bolted toward Harry, quickly untying the ropes. Harry collapsed into Peter's arms, weak but alive, eyes flickering open with gratitude.

But the Goblin didn't flinch.

He stood watching them, smirking coldly. "And now you've got dead weight. Think you can still beat me like that?"

He leapt onto his glider and surged forward—so fast, Peter barely had time to react.

Peter's instincts screamed at him to run. But he couldn't leave Harry. Not now.

So he did the only thing he could: he shielded Harry, dodged when he could, and took the hits when he couldn't.

The Green Goblin's attacks came with surgical precision. His glider carved the air, each strike landing with brutal force.

Peter's body bore the punishment. Cuts and bruises opened with every hit.

But he never let go of Harry.

From the floor, Harry screamed, "Peter, get out of here! Don't worry about me! Just live—and take revenge later!"

His voice rang out, fierce and desperate.

Peter turned to him, eyes blazing. "Harry, I'm not leaving you. You're my best friend. I'm not watching you die!"

Harry stared at him, stunned.

He hadn't expected Peter's unwavering loyalty, his refusal to walk away even in the face of death.

Emotion filled Harry's gaze.

Peter clutched Harry's shoulder. "We face this together. Live or die—we do it side by side."

The Green Goblin watched them, amused.

He'd expected betrayal, fear, surrender. Instead, he saw loyalty, resolve, brotherhood.

It didn't impress him.

"You really want to die together, huh?" he sneered. "Fine. I had a bigger surprise planned, but if you're this eager to die... let me help."

From his glider, the Goblin hurled a volley of pumpkin bombs at them.

Peter and Harry locked eyes, despair rising.

They had no chance of outrunning the blast.

Peter wrapped himself around Harry, determined to shield him from the inevitable.

The night fell silent—except for the pounding of their hearts.

Then, just as the bombs reached them—

A voice rang out.

"Why don't you two just stay right there?"

The words cut through the darkness like a blade, halting time.

Peter and Harry looked up.

A young man emerged from the shadows, calm and confident, a teasing smile on his lips. He looked utterly unfazed by the bombs, the chaos, or the killer in the air.

It was Alex Ray.
