Director Fury stood before Alex Ray, his expression a mix of determination and helplessness.

He took a deep breath, as if trying to swallow the humiliation and pain weighing on his heart.

His voice was low but firm: "Alex Ray, I can give you Bucky's body and the Cosmic Cube. But you have only three days. After that, if the Cosmic Cube isn't returned to S.H.I.E.L.D., I will have no choice but to order the complete destruction of Hell's Kitchen."

Fury knew threatening Alex was pointless; his only leverage was Hell's Kitchen itself.

Alex Ray remained unmoved upon hearing the three-day deadline from Nick Fury.

He understood it was Fury's last stubborn effort—three days was more than enough.

Tony Stark, standing nearby, breathed a sigh of relief at finally obtaining Bucky's body.

He had risked everything, even defying the government, just to bring some closure about his parents.

Now calm, Tony felt a twinge of fear and realized he had acted somewhat rashly.

He should have applied financial pressure on the government or leveraged public opinion to force S.H.I.E.L.D.'s hand.

He was glad that Jarvis, his newly developed AI, had alerted Alex Ray.

Tony decided to return and upgrade Jarvis further.

Nick Fury made a call, ordering his agents to bring the Cosmic Cube and Bucky's body.

Five minutes later, an agent entered carrying a silver safe, followed by several agents bearing a coffin.

Alex frowned at the sight of the coffin—it was just his luck.

Tony, however, stepped forward eagerly, lifting the coffin lid before the agents could set it down.

Inside was the murderer of his parents.

Tony fell silent for a moment, anger and sorrow burning in his eyes.

At the same time, Alex opened the silver safe.

Inside rested a transparent square cube, resembling an ordinary Rubik's Cube at first glance.

But Alex knew the true value of this Cosmic Cube.

In his mind, he mused, This is the Space Gem. It really does look like a simple Rubik's Cube.

No wonder it's called the Cosmic Cube.

There's no way this is a fake. It looks authentic—not some cheap knockoff from a cosmic black market.

He couldn't spot any flaws with the naked eye.

Closing his eyes, he used his observation ability to sense the cube's energy.

Instantly, Alex detected a powerful, mysterious aura emanating from it.

Nick Fury watched Alex closely, trying to read his expression for clues about the cube's importance.

But Alex merely glanced at it indifferently before closing the box.

Confirming it was indeed a Space Gem, Alex smiled thinly at Fury.

"It's been a pleasure working with you. If you'd cooperated earlier, there wouldn't have been so many casualties. I don't like fighting or killing."

Ignoring Fury's grim expression, Alex approached Tony and patted him on the shoulder.

"Should we take the coffin with us, or just the body?"

Tony hesitated briefly, then whispered, "Just the body."

Alex looked at Bucky's body with disdain.

He drew a golden circle with his right hand and opened a portal.

Using chaos magic, he lifted Bucky's body and stepped through the portal, Tony close behind.

As they vanished, Fury stood stunned.

He realized the portal's other end opened directly into the Good Luck Restaurant—the unmistakable sign confirmed it.

He couldn't help but start reconsidering the limits and functions of Alex Ray's powers.

But what came next shocked him even more.

Before Fury could process further, Alex's voice echoed through the room: "By the way, I know you're waiting for Captain Marvel to return—she's been off as a cosmic peacekeeper. But I'm sorry to say, she's no match for me."

With that, Alex closed the portal.

Fury was left alone, heart pounding with shock and fear.

As the portal sealed, Steve Rogers, who had been frozen mid-air by Alex's chaos magic, collapsed to the floor.

He didn't rise immediately, pounding the ground with tears in his eyes.

"Damn it!"

He watched helplessly as Bucky's body was taken away.

Never had he imagined that Bucky's body would end up saving his own life.

He hated Fury for handing it over.

He hated Alex and Tony for taking it away.

But most of all, he hated himself.

He hated his failure to protect his best friend's remains.

Unable to bury Bucky properly, Steve forced himself up and left, vowing to find the body no matter what.

Meanwhile, Fury remained unsettled by how Alex knew about Carol Danvers' status—only a few knew about her whereabouts.

Now, Alex mentioned her casually, leading Fury to suspect there was a spy inside S.H.I.E.L.D.

Fury knew the first to be eliminated would be the spy.

It was improbable; very few within S.H.I.E.L.D. knew about Carol, and most of them were probably dead.

Or maybe Alex had precognitive abilities. The thought sent chills down Fury's spine.

Every time Alex appeared or demonstrated his powers, Fury's understanding of the world was shattered.

As for Alex's words, "She is no match for me," Fury was skeptical.

He knew Carol Danvers' immense strength—nearly invincible.

But Alex's abilities were equally unfathomable, forcing Fury to tread carefully.

He resolved that under no circumstances should Carol face Alex alone; full preparations were necessary.

Back at the Good Luck Restaurant, Alex returned to the entrance and barked at Tony to quickly take Bucky's body away.

Tony said nothing.

Instead, he called Pepper Potts, instructing her to send someone to pick him up.

He wanted to visit his parents' grave as soon as possible and share the news.

After Tony left, Alex went upstairs and opened the Space Gem's container.

A joyful expression crossed his face as his fingers brushed the gem's surface.

As expected, the Space Gem's energy significantly boosted his system.

A voice echoed in Alex's mind:

Ding

Large amounts of energy detected for absorption.

System has automatically activated absorption mode.

System upgrade scheduled to complete within 48 hours.

Forty-eight hours!

That was twice the previous upgrade time.

The last system upgrade took only 24 hours and added a lottery mode.

Could this mean even more powerful features awaited this time?
