In a hidden S.H.I.E.L.D. office, a figure sat silently before a monitor, eyes locked on the surveillance footage.

A sly, satisfied smile curled across his lips.

This was Alexander Pierce, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Nick Fury, the day you've dreaded is finally here," Pierce whispered to himself, pride and sarcasm thick in his tone.

His plan had unfolded flawlessly.

Once wary of Alex Ray and Nick Fury's capabilities, Pierce now regarded them as mere pawns, easily manipulated.

He reveled in the frustrated failures of his arch-enemy, Fury.

Though he had once feared both Fury and Alex Ray, it turned out that a single corpse was enough to spark conflict between them.

Even the unpredictable Iron Man's involvement only intensified the clash between Alex Ray and S.H.I.E.L.D.

Pierce was smug in his intelligence, convinced that both Alex Ray and Fury were nothing more than clowns dancing on his strings.

"Alex Ray, the so-called Lord of Hell, and Nick Fury—they're just pawns," Pierce laughed loudly, eyes lifted to the ceiling.

Crossbones stepped forward from the shadows, nodding approvingly. "Congratulations, Director. After tomorrow, S.H.I.E.L.D. will finally follow your lead."

Crossbones was well-informed of Pierce's scheme. He knew that if this operation succeeded, Fury's days as S.H.I.E.L.D. director were numbered.

He understood the damage Fury had inflicted on Hydra's influence within the organization, and this was their moment to reclaim control.

Pierce basked in the praise, nodding with eyes gleaming greedily.

He pictured himself commanding S.H.I.E.L.D., Hydra's reach spreading unchecked worldwide.

Suddenly, concern flickered across Pierce's face. He furrowed his brow. "Did any of our agents get hurt during the battle?"

Though he'd ordered his operatives to avoid the Iron Man-Captain America conflict, Pierce could not fully relax.

He worried about Hydra agents — vital pieces in his grand design — being killed or wounded.

Crossbones answered swiftly, "No need to worry, Director. Thanks to your brilliant guidance, all our agents completed their missions safely, unharmed. They're loyal to you."

Pierce smiled, satisfaction washing over him. "We lost some agents earlier, ones who've served me for years. It's time to move them into other roles. I'll assign them to key positions soon."

Previously, with Fury at the helm, Hydra's infiltration of crucial departments had been difficult. Now was the perfect moment to seize control.

S.H.I.E.L.D. would soon become their stronghold.

Their influence within Hydra would expand.

Crossbones was visibly excited. He bowed deeply. "On behalf of all agents, thank you, Director."

Pierce waved him off, pride shining from his face.

He drew a deep breath and proclaimed loudly, "This is all for Hydra! Hail Hydra!"

Crossbones responded instantly, voice ringing with loyalty: "Hail Hydra!"

Both men hailed from Hydra's inner circle.

Their legacy within the organization was growing stronger by the day.

But Pierce's ambitions didn't stop there. He aimed to implant Hydra's power into every corner of S.H.I.E.L.D., cementing his control.

He knew it would take time and patience, but he was confident of success.

Under Hydra's banner, their lineage would grow stronger and more glorious.

At this moment, Crossbones proposed a well-calculated plan: "I've observed the Avengers' superheroes. We should turn our attention to them—try to win some over. If we can make them pawns, maybe even control the entire Avengers."

Pierce's eyes lit with interest.

He understood that controlling a team of superheroes would make his goals far easier to achieve.

He even imagined himself as Hydra's undisputed leader, finally realizing his ambitions.

He had always believed his intellect and ability matched anyone's, which had earned him his position.

He recalled that Fury had once brought the Avengers together successfully.

Pierce was convinced he could do the same—with the right approach.

He weighed the plan's feasibility.

Hawkeye and Black Widow were Fury's trusted allies, almost impossible to sway—and not particularly valuable since they were ordinary humans.

Captain America was a staunch defender of justice—unwavering in loyalty, untemptable. Yet, he could be used.

The events of today had proved it: a simple corpse was enough to turn Captain America into a weapon, causing chaos for Fury.

Pierce's eyes shifted to the Fantastic Four.

They had just joined the Avengers, not yet fully integrated.

They lacked deep loyalty to Fury; their alliance was driven more by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s resources and influence.

Pierce saw an opportunity. He decided to try to recruit the Fantastic Four, making them his pawns.

He figured promising Reed Richards the Avengers leadership might sway them.

"Send for the Fantastic Four," Pierce said to Crossbones, voice confident and resolute. "Tell them I have important matters to discuss."

His eyes gleamed with determination—as if he already saw the future where he controlled the Avengers.
