Steve looked at Alex Ray standing before him, a challenge gleaming in his eyes.

He wanted to see if this arrogant young man truly had the strength to match him.

Without hesitation, Steve swung his shield and threw it toward Alex.

Seeing this, Alex was completely unfazed. He stretched out his right hand and used magnetism to effortlessly absorb the shield into his palm.

He examined the legendary vibranium shield closely, secretly admiring its texture and craftsmanship.

Knowing vibranium's value, Alex made up his mind to take the shield with him.

He handed the shield to Tony and said calmly, "Keep an eye on them for me. I'll handle these people first."

Tony took the shield. Though a bit speechless at Alex's interest in everything, when he looked at the shield carefully, his eyes widened in awe.

"No, this shield isn't just steel — it's rare vibranium," Tony exclaimed.

He thought that if he could integrate this shield into his armor, it might drastically enhance its capabilities.

Tony held the shield with excitement but wondered if S.H.I.E.L.D. would confiscate it from him.

Still, he wasn't worried because he had Alex Ray by his side.

Meanwhile, Alex was already fixing Steve with a playful look.

He'd heard rumors that Captain America was always an even match with any opponent and was curious to see if the legend was true.

He glanced at Hawkeye and the other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, then said contemptuously, "Since Captain America's started this war on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D., you might as well join in. Otherwise, you won't get another chance."

Before he finished speaking, Alex vanished from his spot, leaving the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents exchanging bewildered looks, unable to react in time.

Suddenly, a loud bang echoed, and they watched in horror as Steve was sent crashing to the ground by Alex's single move.

The force of the blow was incredible. Steve struggled to rise but felt an overwhelming weight pressing down on him.

It was as if an invisible hand pinned him, leaving him immobile. Shock and disbelief flashed in his eyes—this Alex Ray was unbelievably strong.

Steve felt deeply wronged. A soldier of World War II, he had faced countless life-and-death battles, never imagining he would be knocked down so easily.

Still, his spirit remained unbroken. Though his body was restrained, he gritted his teeth and fought to stand.

At the same time, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents sprang into action.

Hawkeye, Natasha, and others launched a swift attack on Alex. Their moves were agile and decisive, clearly highly trained.

Fighter jets and tanks roared nearby, unleashing firepower on Alex's position.

For a moment, the sky and earth were filled with artillery and bullets, raining down on Alex like meteors. Such a barrage would intimidate any enemy.

Yet, facing the full assault, Alex showed no fear.

Confidence and determination shone in his eyes, as if he controlled everything.

He spread his arms, and the incoming shells and bullets froze midair, suspended by his magnetic force.

The sight left Steve and the agents lying on the ground shocked and desperate.

They couldn't believe what they were witnessing — how could Alex possess such power?

Alex smiled and said, "You're so enthusiastic to give me such a big gift, but I don't like it. I'll return it to you."

With a wave of his hand, the frozen munitions suddenly reversed direction, propelled by magnetic force, turning back toward their source.

It looked like sorcery, stunning everyone present.

Explosions erupted one after another as agents who failed to react quickly enough were hit by their own bullets.

Some died instantly; others were severely wounded. Even tanks and helicopters were torn apart by Alex's power.

The scene instantly descended into chaos and carnage, with elite S.H.I.E.L.D. agents suffering heavy losses in this sudden counterattack.

The air filled with gunpowder and dust, blood and debris littered the ground in a grim tableau.

Steve lay on the ground, watching the devastation, despair filling his heart.

Alex approached the pinned Captain America, his eyes revealing a mix of helplessness and mockery.

He said, "Look how many lives were lost because you refused to hand over the Winter Soldier's body."

Steve glared back, anger and unwillingness burning in his eyes.

If looks could kill, Alex would have been dead several times over.

But Alex held his gaze and continued, "Don't look at me like that. I was only defending myself. You're making me out to be the villain."

Alex really hadn't initiated the killing—those people died by their own weapons.

Was he supposed to just let them kill him? Be beaten to death and buried in a hole?

Steve gritted his teeth. "Why did you take Bucky's body?"

His voice was thick with unspeakable pain and confusion.

This question had haunted him from the start, but he'd never gotten an answer.

Alex was surprised by the question—no one had informed Steve about Bucky.

He looked at Tony, who sat speechless nearby, and briefly explained how Bucky killed Tony's parents.

"Impossible. Bucky isn't that kind of person!" Steve exclaimed, disbelief and anger flooding him.

In his mind, Bucky could never be capable of such acts.

He suspected Alex was deceiving him and slandering his friend.

Alex shrugged. "That's what happened. Believe it or not."

Finishing, Alex lifted Steve with one hand using his chaos magic.

Alex didn't care if Steve believed him or not. Steve was just too kind, too saintly.

Alex thought the world was far from beautiful. Steve was over 100 years old but still naïve, as if he had never endured society's harsh blows.

Alex called Tony into the S.H.I.E.L.D. office building. He now planned to meet Nick Fury to demand the Space Stone and the Winter Soldier's body.

To be safe, Alex brought Steve along—to use him as leverage if necessary.
