Soon, Tony arrived at Alex Ray's restaurant in Hell's Kitchen.
Anxious to know the truth, Tony ignored John Wick's call and rushed inside.
John Wick lowered his hand in greeting. He never expected to see Tony in such a hurry.
Maybe Tony had something urgent to discuss with Alex. If it had been Pietro, John might have followed in out of curiosity.
But John Wick wasn't one to gossip, so he didn't care and continued sitting there, lost in thought.
As soon as Tony entered the room, he slammed his hand on Alex's desk and demanded, "What the hell is going on? Didn't my parents die in a car accident?"
Alex was calmly sipping tea. He looked up at the anxious Tony and said, "Take off your armor quickly. Don't damage my floor."
Alex didn't understand why Tony was so anxious. This all happened so long ago. It wasn't like he was unwilling to talk about it—yet Tony flew all the way here just to confront him.
Alex suspected that Tony in his previous life already knew the truth but never killed the Winter Soldier. Now, Uncle Kingpin had killed the Winter Soldier, and Tony still owed him thanks.
Tony looked at Alex, who sat there calmly drinking tea. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to press a gun to Alex's head and make him speak.
"I told you I found your parents' murderer. Ask J.A.R.V.I.S. to check it out. I remember there's a SHIELD video recording the scene of their death," Alex said.
Hearing this, Tony rushed home to activate J.A.R.V.I.S. He couldn't wait to learn the truth. If it was true, he swore to make the murderer pay.
Seeing Tony about to rush off again, Alex quickly stopped him. "Wait a minute. Didn't I say I had some bad news to tell you?"
Tony paused, turning back with eyes full of confusion and suspicion.
He looked at Alex as if asking, What news could be worse than knowing the truth about my parents' murder?
Without hesitation, Alex said, "The murderer who killed your parents has been killed by Uncle Kingpin. He wanted to kill Uncle Kingpin and his wife the same way he killed your parents, but he was killed instead."
Tony was stunned. An inexplicable sense of loss washed over him. His anger and impulse felt like a flame suddenly snuffed out in an instant.
The murderer he'd been searching for was already dead.
His rage and need for vengeance suddenly lost their target.
Then Tony looked at Alex, confused, desperate to know how it had all happened.
So Alex began to recount the entire incident in detail—starting with the Winter Soldier's attack on Kingpin's family, the revelation of the Winter Soldier's identity, and finally, the truth behind the murder of Tony's parents.
He described every detail clearly and accurately.
After hearing the full truth, Tony looked at Alex with doubt and shock.
He hadn't expected the story behind his parents' death to be like this. Deep down, Tony still harbored skepticism. Until he saw the evidence himself, he wouldn't fully accept it.
But Tony believed Alex had no reason to lie. What shocked him most was that Alex knew things even his own son did not. It seemed like there was nothing Alex didn't know in this world.
Tony's mind raced with confusion and frustration. He couldn't understand why Alex knew so much about his parents—things even he had never learned.
Alex looked at Tony and gave a mysterious smile. How do I tell you I'm a time traveler who knows everything?
Tony was furious at Alex's infuriating smile, but then a thought struck him. Suddenly, he felt like getting revenge.
Tony smiled slyly and said, "There's one thing you definitely don't know."
Alex looked at Tony, eyes full of curiosity.
He wanted to know what Tony was about to say. Was there really something he didn't know?
Tony's smug smile deepened. "Do you know what I saw at SHIELD today?"
Then Tony deliberately kept the secret, wanting to see the eager anticipation in Alex's eyes.
Tony wanted to tell him about the Avengers he had seen. He was sure Alex didn't know Nick Fury had formed the team.
Alex immediately understood Tony had been invited by Nick Fury to join the Avengers today.
Alex knew Tony's temper. He was not convinced and wanted to strike back at his enemies.
Alex didn't show surprise or curiosity. He simply said, "Avengers."
Tony's pupils dilated instantly. He hadn't expected Alex to know about the Avengers.
This surprised and frustrated him, making him feel like a clown in front of Alex.
But Tony hid it well.
He stood and said goodbye, "I have to go check the evidence. If it's true, I'll send those who covered it up straight to hell."
. . . . . . . . . .
At the Avengers base,
Nick Fury was talking with the team when Coulson approached with a serious expression and whispered in Fury's ear.
The Avengers didn't hear what was said, but Fury's face immediately turned grave.
At that moment, Fury learned about the death of Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, and he hesitated whether to tell Steve Rogers.
It was strange—why would Bucky, who had been missing for years, suddenly reappear only to be killed?
Why had SHIELD received news of his death? Was there a conspiracy?
Nearby, the Avengers noticed Fury's sudden seriousness and stopped what they were doing to look at him.
Fury slowly walked toward Steve.
Steve didn't know what was going on. Smiling, he asked, "Why the sudden concern? What's wrong?"
When Steve heard the news about his good friend Bucky, his heart swelled with joy.
For a man who had slept through decades, all the people he once knew were gone, and he struggled to adapt to a new world.
Hearing that Bucky was alive filled him with indescribable excitement.
He was eager to find Bucky and didn't notice the serious expression on Fury's face.
Excitedly, Steve grabbed Fury's shoulders and asked anxiously, "Where is Bucky? Is he okay?"
His eyes were full of hope, as if Fury's words could instantly reunite him with his friend.
But Fury looked at the hopeful Steve and said slowly, "Steve, calm down. I'm sorry, but Bucky is dead."
Those words hit Steve like a thunderbolt, shattering all his hope.
The smile vanished from Steve's face, replaced by shock and pain.
He couldn't accept it—he couldn't believe his lifelong companion was gone.
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
Steve's voice trembled with pain and despair, his body slightly shaking.
