Chapter 207: Chapter 207: The Method to Repair the Heart of the Universe
When the Ancient One saw Wanda's smile, she was momentarily stunned. So, Wanda had already sensed Han Yu's presence?
"Wanda's current level… she's probably no weaker than me now. With the vast magic reserves of Chaos Magic supporting her, she doesn't even need to worry about magic depletion during practice. The only difference between us now is actual combat experience."
The Ancient One mused to herself. She gave Wanda a slight nod in greeting before turning and walking away.
It had been a long time since they last met, but when they finally saw each other again, there weren't as many words as one might have expected. Just like before, silence prevailed between them.
It was Han Yu who broke the silence first. After a brief pause, he asked, "You haven't been mistreated there, have you?"
"Of course not. Even the Ancient One can't bully me anymore, let alone anyone else." Wanda's eyes curved into crescent moons as she smiled. "Besides, you send me so much money every month—what's that about? I can't even spend that much over there, and now you've practically turned me into a billionaire."
Han Yu was momentarily speechless. Even though his own monthly allowance was only a few hundred thousand, or at most a little over a million dollars, he had always transferred five million dollars to Wanda every month, just in case she ever faced any financial difficulties.
He refused to let her suffer even the slightest hardship.
"So why did you suddenly come back without telling me?" Han Yu asked.
At the mention of this, Wanda's expression turned serious. "Something bad has happened, and it's not an easy problem to solve. I might need your help."
"Sit down and tell me."
Seeing the gravity in her expression, Han Yu pulled over two chairs, and they both sat down.
Once seated, Wanda raised her right hand and traced a circle in midair with her delicate fingers. A golden-framed floating mirror appeared before them. She explained, "This is the monitoring system of the Sanctum Supreme. In the past, because there was only one Sorcerer Supreme capable of holding such authority, we avoided offending other planetary powers. As a result, this tool was used strictly for surveillance—it couldn't be used for teleportation or attacks."
Han Yu nodded and looked into the golden-framed mirror. Instead of reflecting their faces, the mirror displayed the vast expanse of space.
As they watched, the image within the mirror began to shift. What was initially a broad cosmic view zoomed in closer and smaller. Wanda's voice followed.
"This is a star system located eleven light-years from Earth. Just two mornings ago, over thirty life-bearing planets were obliterated in an instant. The speed of destruction was so fast that there was no chance to react."
Han Yu focused on the mirror, where he saw a pale blue crescent-shaped light streaking across dozens of distant planets. The speed was so astonishing that it was like watching someone swipe a finger across a smartphone screen—everything happened in the blink of an eye.
As the light passed, its glow became more solid, deepening into an even richer blue. Meanwhile, the planets it touched instantly turned a deathly white. Once vibrant and full of life, they crumbled into dust within moments.
Han Yu's pupils contracted sharply, and he blurted out, "It's absorbing the life force of these planets!"
They were watching from an omniscient perspective, yet even at this scale, the blue light seemed incredibly fast. The planets in the image were massive—some even larger than Earth—yet they disintegrated with terrifying speed the moment they were touched by the light.
The beings on those planets had no time to react before they perished.
"At this rate, it won't be long before it reaches Earth. We have to find a way to stop it!"
Wanda didn't know what this light was, but she knew that if it reached Earth, their planet would suffer the same fate as those destroyed worlds—instant annihilation.
She turned to Han Yu, seeking his opinion, but found his brows furrowed even more tightly than hers.
"Han Yu, what's wrong?" she asked softly.
Only then did Han Yu snap out of his thoughts. He turned to Wanda and said, "I know what this is. And I know who released it."
As he spoke, he raised his right hand. A glow identical in color to the one in the golden-framed mirror emerged from his palm.
A soft, pale blue light.
But the light in Han Yu's hand was even deeper, even darker than what had first appeared in the mirror.
"What is this? How do you have this thing?"
Wanda was shocked. Could it be that the pale blue light that had swept across those planets was Han Yu's doing?
Her mind was in turmoil. If Han Yu was truly responsible, what should she do? Should she stand against him and side with the countless lost lives?
But she had come to the Sanctum Supreme because of Han Yu. Now, could she really use what she had learned there to fight him? She didn't know if she had the heart to do it.
Noticing the conflicted expression on Wanda's face, Han Yu couldn't help but chuckle. He reached out and tapped her on the head lightly.
"What are you thinking? Of course, I didn't release that thing. The direction that light came from obviously wasn't Earth."
"Oh, right! How did I forget that?"
Wanda clapped her hands together as the realization hit her. Shaking her head to clear away the chaotic thoughts, she quickly asked, "Then what exactly is this energy? I can feel how powerful it is. Is there another one of these in existence?"
Han Yu nodded and began explaining the matter of the Heart of the Universe.
By the time he finished, Wanda looked completely stunned.
"Is it really that powerful?" she asked in disbelief.
Her reaction was understandable. Even though her Chaos Magic could affect the universe to some degree, she was still limited to Earth's level—she had yet to reach a truly cosmic scale.
Hearing about the Heart of the Universe, she was amazed. It sounded even more mysterious and powerful than her Chaos Magic.
"So, you're saying that this guy called Thanos is destroying these planets to complete his own Heart of the Universe?" Wanda asked.
Han Yu nodded in confirmation. Finding the fragments of the Heart of the Universe was even harder than locating the Infinity Stones.
At least with the Infinity Stones, there were legends and records of their past appearances. But the Heart of the Universe was different—it was nothing more than a name.
And not just anyone in the universe even knew that name. Aside from a few cosmic-level beings, only a handful of mid-to-high-level civilizations across different planets had even heard of it—fewer than the fingers on one hand.
Gathering all its fragments was an almost impossible task.
Han Yu had also discovered that pure planetary energy could be used to recharge the broken Heart of the Universe. However, the conversion rate was astonishingly low.
A life-bearing planet the size of Earth could only provide 0.1% of 1% of a single fragment's energy.
The energy output was so insignificant that if someone tried to fully restore the Heart of the Universe this way, the entire cosmos would be destroyed long before it was complete.
