Ragna turned his head to avoid Valkyrie's strike, then took a few steps back to create distance between them.
But Valkyrie didn't stop her assault. She quickly closed the gap, swinging the long sword in her hand with precision.
"I'm sorry for the fall of the Valkyries, but that's not my fault!"
"I admired the Valkyries too when I was younger. Who doesn't love a beautiful and powerful Valkyrie?"
"But the Valkyries may truly disappear in the future!"
Ragna didn't fight back, speaking calmly as he continued to retreat.
"They're already gone," Valkyrie shouted, her strikes growing stronger with each swing of her sword.
"So, I'm sorry!"
Suddenly, Ragna's body began to glow with divine light. He stopped dodging, reached out, grabbed Valkyrie's sword, and with a swift motion, drove it into the ground.
"Divine Power Awakening? Second-tier? It seems you're not as useless as I thought. Very good—you're even more valuable now," Valkyrie said, momentarily stunned as her sword was taken from her. She stopped attacking, clenched her fists, cracked her neck, and looked at Ragna with even greater greed.
Both were at the second tier of divine power, but the battle-hardened Valkyrie faced the so-called "Little Prince of the Greenhouse." There was no reason for her to lose.
Ragna looked at the eager Valkyrie, sighed, and spoke firmly: "Hela is my sister. She's been good to me, and I can't help you kill her."
"My mother has always loved me deeply, and I have a friend who believes in me completely. They deserve to live well."
"So, I must leave Sakaar as soon as possible. I want to become the champion!"
"I want to defeat you!"
"What nonsense are you spouting?" Valkyrie glared at Ragna, then threw a punch directly at him. "Did your lucky awakening make you arrogant?"
"We may both be second-tier, but the gap between us is vast."
Valkyrie's punch was blocked by Ragna, but she used the opportunity to kick him several meters back. Her rich combat experience made her attacks unpredictable and relentless.
"Do you think I'm just a flower in the greenhouse?"
"Do you have any idea what kind of training I've endured to grow stronger?"
"Do you know why I've done all this?"
Ragna brushed the dust off his body and stood tall. Though Valkyrie's kick was powerful, it was nothing compared to the resilience of his divine body and the strength granted by the Sun's divine power.
"Let's fight!" Ragna roared, charging forward with a flurry of punches, kicks, and precise strikes aimed at Valkyrie's weak points.
"Enough!" Valkyrie shouted, her head snapping to the side as Ragna's fist connected with her face. She spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, then retaliated with a powerful punch to Ragna's abdomen.
"Come again!"
The two exchanged blows—punches, kicks, back and forth.
The superhuman durability of their Aesir physiology allowed Ragna and Valkyrie to trade hits without either collapsing immediately.
The intense battle turned entire mountains of garbage into flattened plains.
Meanwhile, the ferocious fight had drawn the attention of numerous scavengers, including some powerful lone scavengers.
"It's over," Ragna panted, slightly hunched over, his arms hanging limply at his sides.
Valkyrie, on the other hand, looked even worse, barely able to stand.
"Thank you. My combat experience has improved greatly… thanks to the power of the sun!"
The powerful regenerative effects of his second-tier solar power allowed Ragna to retain some strength.
Suddenly, the power of the sun erupted violently from his body, filling the junkyard with blazing light, as if a sun had risen from the trash heaps.
The sudden flash of light blinded anyone who looked directly at it, forcing them to shield their eyes.
Valkyrie was no exception.
The more experienced lone scavengers reacted quickly, but by the time their vision cleared, Ragna had already flashed behind Valkyrie.
With a savage chop, his raised hand struck the back of Valkyrie's neck.
With a loud thud, Valkyrie collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
"I didn't expect No. 142 to go down like that!"
"Who is that new guy? He's strong!"
"They're both gods, aren't they? Figures they'd fight like this…"
"All that hatred between gods—must be some love-hate thing. Hahaha!"
"Enough chatter. Old rules: sell them to the Grandmaster, and we'll split the profits. Two excellent fighters like these are worth a fortune!"
"Let's do it!"
Four flight machines, both old and new, slowly landed near Ragna and the unconscious Valkyrie. The scavengers in the area were quickly driven off by a few warning shots.
Four lone scavengers aimed their energy cannons at Ragna.
"Kid, thanks for taking down the drunkard No. 142! Damn, you gods are way too tough!"
"Now, put your hands on your head, squat down, and thank us for the big payday you're about to give us. Hahaha!"
The lone scavengers laughed wildly, convinced that the exhausted Ragna was powerless to resist and would soon become their commodity.
But Ragna, his head lowered, began to tremble violently. This wasn't the trembling of exhaustion after a fierce battle.
Instead, it seemed as if a light was radiating from within his body, transforming him from the inside out.
