Marvel: AS A PRINCE IN ASGARD

Chapter 8: CHAPTER 8

If begging the Grandmaster were enough to escape Sakaar, then Sakaar wouldn't have its junkyard or these scavengers!

So, enhanced durability and overdrive regeneration are for withstanding more punishment?

Option one had already been decisively abandoned by Ragna, and option two was even more impossible. No one knew how many years Sakaar's ten years would equate to in the outside world.

Moreover, there is only one Reincarnation Pond, and it cannot be placed within the time-warped Sakaar.

That leaves only one choice!

Without hesitation, Ragna made his decision and then turned to question the leader of the scavengers.

"Tell me, what does it take to become a champion?"

"Impossible, impossible," muttered the scavenger leader. After being kicked by Ragna again, he changed his tone.

"There are only two ways to become a champion. First, if no champion exists, you must win a hundred consecutive victories!"

"Second, after winning ten consecutive victories in the blood battles, you earn the right to challenge the reigning champion. Defeat them, and you become the new champion."

"But now, a champion has already emerged—the Desert Death God. His strength is unmatched, his speed unparalleled, and his command of darkness makes him invincible. No one can defeat him! No one!"

The scavenger leader's behavior grew peculiar when speaking of the Desert Death God, as if he were terrified of the champion fights.

"Have you met him?" Ragna asked.

The scavenger leader fell silent for a moment before responding, "I had a brother who was exiled here with me. To earn his freedom, he chose to fight in the blood battles."

"In his eighth match, he faced the Desert Death God, who was also competing in the battles."

"The Desert Death God tore my brother to pieces. I was there, cheering for him during that fight."

"After that, I attended every one of the Desert Death God's matches. I wanted to see him die, to watch him be torn apart by other fighters. But instead, he fought his way to the top and became the champion."

"He's too strong. Truly too strong."

The scavenger leader spoke calmly, almost devoid of emotion. His body, which had been lying on the ground, slowly turned his head to look at Ragna.

Ragna responded by kicking the scavenger leader in the neck, knocking him unconscious.

Yes, the scavenger leader's brother may have died a tragic death, but what did that have to do with Ragna?

When the scavengers attacked the innocent Ragna and planned to use him as food, they forfeited any right to forgiveness.

After awakening, interrogating, and incapacitating the three scavengers one by one, Ragna gained a clearer understanding of Sakaar.

He removed the armband from the scavenger leader and collected all the remaining credit points from the armbands of the other scavengers.

With another kick, he sent them to join their fallen companion.

Ragna lifted the defective energy cannon with one hand and began making his way toward the living quarters of Sakaar.

The combined credit points from the scavengers would only allow him to stay in the living area for ten days. Selling the cannon would at least buy him some more time there.

He had had enough of the stench in the junkyard.

In a garbage dump, a person often becomes nothing more than food. But when someone can lift an energy cannon with one hand, there will be far fewer fools around who lack the sense to stay out of his way.

As Ragna moved through the junkyard, he disposed of some trash that clearly had no survival instincts, and the credit points on his armband increased significantly.

If he managed to sell the energy cannon, the credits he'd earn would be enough to let him live in the living quarters for two months.

"Hey, man, hand over that energy cannon," a voice called out. An old ship stopped in front of Ragna.

A woman with tied hair, a dark complexion, and strange patterns on her face stepped out of the spaceship, swaying as if drunk.

She was a powerful lone scavenger with her own ship.

Ragna recognized her immediately.

She was the Valkyrie who had survived the pursuit of Hela.

"You should know who I am," Ragna said, tossing the energy cannon aside. It seemed he no longer needed it.

"We've never met," Valkyrie replied, picking up a bottle and taking a few sips.

"No matter how you ended up on Sakaar, you're mine now. You must be worth a lot."

"I'm sure we haven't met, but I should be quite famous in Asgard, right?"

More than famous—as the so-called "trash prince" of Asgard, it was impossible that Valkyrie didn't know him.

"Don't talk to me about Asgard," Valkyrie snapped, slamming the bottle down and drawing a long sword, which she pointed at Ragna.

"So, you're planning to betray the royal family you once served? Oh, wait—I'm no longer part of the Asgardian royal family. Are you planning to take me by force and sell me off?"

Ragna's expression shifted slightly. Valkyries, as Asgard's most elite warriors, each possessed at least some level of divine power.

Though this Valkyrie wasn't the commander of the Valkyrie legion, she still wielded second-tier divine power, putting her on par with Ragna in his current state.

"I said, don't mention Asgard to me. I don't care if you're royalty. All I know is that you're valuable."

On Sakaar, if you wanted to live like a normal person, you needed enough credit points to stay in the living quarters.

The junkyard? That was hell.

As soon as Valkyrie finished speaking, she swung her long sword at Ragna with enough force to have stunned the Ragna of old.
