Marvel 1919 : Rise of an Empire

Chapter 151: Escape from the Cretaceous Period

This time, George did not return to Earth but instead began preparing the necessary supplies for his next Crossing directly.

First, there was a small spaceship equipped with the Star Network, then a considerable number of gene collectors, followed by five hundred NS-5 Robots, and finally, one hundred Qiongqi Robots, anesthetic darts, various ammunition, and several small reconnaissance aircraft.

Plane: "65"

Plot: The story takes place 65 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period. The protagonists are aliens, a middle-aged male and a young girl.

They were originally a pilot and passenger on a universal voyage when their spaceship crashed on Earth after being struck by asteroid fragments in space.

After a series of narrow escapes from dinosaurs, the two eventually managed to restart their spaceship and return to space, just as Earth was struck by an asteroid, causing the extinction of the dinosaur era.

...

For George, this Plane posed virtually no danger. The valuable items might include the spaceship that had crash-landed on Earth, but those possessed only reference value and were not his primary objective.

At this time, Earth harbored a vast population of dinosaurs, and those creatures were his main target for this Crossing.

Sixty-five million years ago on Earth, within a tropical rainforest, George materialized directly in a clearing.

Since time was extremely limited on this occasion, George wasted no time. After deploying the small spaceship, he released all the Robots, then had the Star Network control them to begin collecting specimens.

Not only animal specimens but also plant specimens and environmental data fell within the scope of investigation.

Three nights later, George looked up at the sky and witnessed a spaceship plummeting toward the ground like a meteor. As the vessel descended, it scraped against the atmosphere, creating brilliant streaks of fire.

Then George observed the entire spaceship beginning to disintegrate mid-air, splitting into two distinct sections.

The forward section of the spaceship remained relatively intact, plunging into the dense forest, while the rear section crashed directly onto a cliff face beside the mountain.

It appeared the protagonists of the story had arrived. When George finished organizing his work and materialized at the crash site, he discovered the pilot, Mills, sitting on the ground with a kinetic weapon in his hand, apparently preparing to end his own life.

George chose not to interfere with Mills's decision. Instead, through a subtle extension of his perception, he located the intact hibernation pod containing the little girl in a nearby swamp.

After instantly transporting himself to retrieve the girl, George returned to find Mills slumped on the ground, having abandoned his suicide attempt.

"If you're not planning to kill yourself, then get up!" George declared.

Mills, perhaps overwhelmed by mental strain, rolled over and grabbed the weapon beside him.

"Who are you?"

Mills spoke in an alien language that George could not comprehend. However, after George connected his mental power to the other party's mind, they could communicate telepathically.

The alien had never encountered this method before and believed the voice appearing in his thoughts was him speaking aloud.

"Don't be nervous, your weapon does not affect me, so put it down," George said, gently laying the girl flat on the ground. Then, with a subtle gravitational manipulation, the white kinetic rifle flew smoothly into George's grasp.

After confirming that the little girl was merely unconscious from hibernation and bore no injuries, George glanced at Mills's waist and asked, "Do you need me to treat that wound for you?"

"I've already treated it, no need," Mills replied, maintaining his defensive posture.

"In one more day, the asteroid in space will impact this planet. If you don't want to die, prepare quickly. I'll take you to the escape pod," George stated, observing the motionless Mills.

Then George settled nearby, prepared to witness Mills's choice.

Of course, if Mills chose to give up, George held no objections, he would simply escort the little girl to safety. People must always bear responsibility for their own decisions.

After a moment, perhaps having processed the situation, Mills quickly crawled into the forward half of the spaceship and began gathering supplies.

George refrained from disturbing him, simply observing in silence.

Minutes later, Mills emerged again, now carrying numerous small items. Mills asked no questions but directly retrieved the weapon, then gestured toward the little girl and instructed, "Carry her on your back and follow me."

George then turned decisively and walked toward the other section of the spaceship. Mills glanced at him, hesitated briefly, then approached the little girl, lifted her onto his back, and hurried to match George's pace.

After the three had traveled a considerable distance, another Shadow of George appeared in the clearing.

It became apparent that the figure who had just accompanied Mills and the little girl was merely a multiple Shadow Clone.

However, on this planet, a single clone proved sufficient to ensure the safety of both survivors. George's main body materialized before the disintegrated spaceship and absorbed half of the vessel into his dimensional Space.

After glancing in the direction the trio had departed, George teleported once more, appearing beside the rear half of the spaceship. After extracting the escape pod, he collected the remaining components into his Space as well.

George teleported back to his vessel and discovered that specimen collection was nearly complete. He then relocated to another environment to continue gathering samples.

George had already changed locations three times when the clone returned, and he witnessed an escape craft soaring into the sky, vanishing into the vast night.

Through his spaceship's sensors, George observed that the asteroid would be captured by Earth's gravity within a few hours and impact the planet's surface.

George began participating personally in the sample collection efforts, including acquiring various specimens from the ocean.

Thirty minutes before the asteroid's impact, George had already piloted his spaceship into space, then savored this rare spectacle from orbit for its entire duration.

Only after the surface had been thoroughly devastated did George emerge from his spaceship, store the vessel in his dimensional Space, and instantly transport himself away from this Plane.

On Ancient Star, after George returned from the Cretaceous Period, he extracted the spaceship he had retrieved and instructed Monday to reverse-engineer it, while he entered the Chaos Space.

The Chaos Space had undergone a dramatic transformation, no longer displaying only the Gobi Desert except for the central area.

Under the meticulous design of artificial intelligence, it had become an earthly paradise with melodious birdsong and fragrant blossoms.

George had also constructed a laboratory within the Chaos Space. Retrieving the experimental specimens obtained during this expedition, he commenced cloning and breeding operations.

The Zerg Queen's clone was also housed here, though compared to the original body's towering height of dozens of meters, the current clone remained significantly smaller.

Moreover, the clone, like the alien Queen, had been marked with George's mental imprint, essentially becoming his devoted companion.

On Satellite Two, environmental modification continued steadily, while George conducted species cloning operations, primarily because the genetic samples retrieved this time were extraordinarily numerous.

Tens of thousands of different animal genetic samples alone had been collected. Even cloning just one male and one female of each species would require producing over twenty thousand individual organisms.

The time differential between the Chaos Space and the real world maintained a ratio of one to ten. Three months in reality meant nearly three years had elapsed within the Chaos Space.

The species cloned earlier had achieved remarkable progress. The Zerg Queen, in particular, had grown to over twenty meters in body length and was completely prepared for the next stage of cultivation.

George traveled to Satellite Two and transferred all the cultivated cloned creatures, dramatically enriching the biodiversity of the satellite.

With this abundance, George no longer needed to concern himself with the aliens' food supply.
