Legendary Beast Master: Starting with Contracting SSS Rank Dragon

Chapter 110: Barrier

[A/N – If you've noticed, the recent chapters aren't edited, and that's because my health is shit and I'm barely writing anything. I even had to pause my other book. So I'm really sorry about that, but gimme some time to get back to peak condition.

I am editing them now. This one is edited now .]

Kael had to repeat the whole explanation about the southern region of Eldryn to the trio. It wasn't just to satisfy their curiosity but also because he wanted to let them know about the future of their world.

When they learned about the incoming Corruption, they were reminded of the Nyraxx and shuddered at the thought of becoming one of them.

Just that was enough to fill them with even more determination to become stronger.

While conversing, they traveled further to the west at an incredible speed. After all, their ride was the twin Flameclaw Lions, who had improved so much in a short time.

It took only a few hours of continuous ride for them to get out of the range of the Giant Storm Tree, and they had to say, it was simply ridiculous.

Its roots and presence could be felt miles away. The tree itself was so big that if one climbed to a high point to clear their sight, they would easily be able to see the Giant Storm Tree.

The group didn't stop because they didn't really need rest. The lions could travel for days without getting tired at all, even if they didn't use their Mana.

But currently, they had reduced their speed as all of them silently crossed the area. They had already encountered a few animals and beasts, but it was different this time.

It was because Kael's instincts were tingling lightly, telling him that there was some danger in the area but not too much.

And if something could be registered as danger for Kael, he didn't want to take risks because there were humans in the Wilds.

Just as they were creeping forward, a figure clad in denim shorts and a loose white T-shirt materialized before them, making them come to a halt.

Rias gazed into the distance and said, "There are two spies there who are guarding the anchor of the barrier."

"There's a barrier?" Kael raised a brow upon hearing that.

Rias nodded without turning back, "They are using a pretty high-level one, so you can't detect it. But if you passed through it or even got close, then they will be alerted."

Kael sucked in the cold air upon hearing that and once again thanked fate for letting him meet someone like Rias. Without her, he might have really died somewhere.

"What should we do then?" Kiona asked. "We need to get out of here. Will making an underground tunnel work?"

"The barrier is erected from up and down in a cylindrical way," Rias stated calmly.

Kiona frowned and tried to come up with any ideas to get out of here, while Kael just hummed softly. His mind was already running through various ideas on how to get out of the barrier without alerting the higher-ups.

Since the Church had personally taken action and even put importance on it, there was no way this barrier was anything simple, especially since they knew a powerful Elf was in the area. Enjoying the story? Discover more on M|V|LEM6PYR.

He quickly went through the words Rias had spoken, and a hypothesis formed in his mind, "Rias, did you just say that the barrier is cylindrical in shape?"

Rias nodded and pointed at the ground, "It forms at the very core of this world," her finger moved up as she continued, "and it goes high up in the sky."

"So it isn't like a dome or a complete sphere," Kael muttered. "Interesting."

"Did you find the method, Master?" Kiona asked but it was more of a statement. She had full trust in her Master and knew he would come up with some way to get out of here.

Kael hummed and asked Rias, "Can you check the situation in the Astral World?"

He didn't feel anything wrong about ordering her since she had personally told him that she wished to be a part of his Empire and as the leader, he could order her.

Even if he was weak, he was the leader she had chosen.

Rias paused, understanding where his thought process was going, and vanished from the spot as if the world had eaten her.

She soon appeared again, turned to face Kael and nodded, "Your guess was right."

Kiona was confused but didn't ask since it wasn't the time for that.

"Great! Then I'll need your help again," Kael gave a thumbs-up in excitement.

Rias nodded and then took all of them through the Astral World to another location. As always, bringing so many people simultaneously seemed to bring her discomfort but she didn't voice it out.

The group once again experienced the miracles of the Astral World—along with its side effects.

Just as they stepped on the grassy ground beneath them, they lowered themselves and allowed their bodies to get used to the world.

"Thanks for the ride!" Kael flashed a sweet smile at her.

Rias paused as she was just about to hide in the Astral World again. She stared at Kael's smile for a bit longer and spoke, "It was worth it."

Kael chuckled at her words and patted Seth's back, "Let's go. We need to find something before evening."

Seth shrugged off his discomfort and nodded, "Yes, Master."

They were in a new area, but the scenery wasn't much different than before. The vegetation around was thick, with tall, heavy trees standing against the heavens, shielding the world from glaring sunlight.

Fortunately, they could make out the Frost Mountains and the Great Storm Tree in the distance, which helped them with directions.

Well, they also had Alpha with them, who was constantly making a map for every place Kael visited or got to know of. It was a direct order from him.

"Master, how did you know that Astral travel would work?" Kiona asked the question even the twins had in mind as they once again began to run toward the west.

They were mostly confused because the Churches most likely had ways to isolate an area in the Astral World too.

"It was just a guess on my part," Kael shrugged. "They made a cylindrical barrier rather than a dome which is the safest and best barrier to trap someone. Why is that? I can only think of the fact that they don't want to interact with the Great Storm Tree."

They nodded, as it was clear from the start. The Great Storm Tree was just too dangerous and too peculiar, after all.

"They can restrict the area in the physical world, but it's different in the Astral World where even the concept of area is twisted in strange ways. They are probably afraid of interacting with the Great Storm Tree through the Astral World if they tried to control it."

Kael sighed.

"Besides, they are also sure about the fact that nobody can move around in the Astral World of Eldryn without alerting them."

"And Miss Rias is obviously the best, so how can those puny Churches detect her movement?" Jon snorted in arrogance.

For some reason, this guy had become a huge fan of Rias, and when asked, he refused to tell why. They could have asked Rias, but she was also just as confused as them.

Kael gave him a strange look but agreed with his words. Rias was an anomaly, and they were certainly using it to their fullest.

"Have you noticed something, Master?" Kiona asked, gaining his attention. "The Mana is... weird here."

"It definitely is," Kael nodded thoughtfully. "Perhaps it's because of that damned tree again. It seems to suck everything around it, so maybe other areas turned barren. Besides, there's also a barrier in between now."

"Ohh."

Kael thought of something and asked Alpha, 'Hey, can you trace their location using our connection?'

[It is possible with them because your bond is very deep with them. It wouldn't work on others unless they do the same. Also, it wouldn't work if they were far away.]

As always, Alpha gave the detailed explanation so he didn't miss out on anything.

'That's great!' Kael smiled and turned towards Kiona, "Let's move alone for now. I don't think this area is powerful enough to house any beasts capable of one-shotting you, so you can call for help if you encounter danger."

They all nodded in unison.

"And well, we can talk in our head anyway, so just let us know if you find something interesting," Kael said.

They once again nodded in understanding. They were subordinates and had really understood their place in such a serious situation even though Kael was far from behaving like a leader in private.

As for their communications, it was a feature of his Ultimate Skill. He could mentally talk with them even if they were great distances away using their bond.

Kael was reminded of it after he remembered his conversation with Draven. That old dragon would always talk in his head, and at first, Kael thought it was some kind of Skill exclusive to the Dragon God.

But it seemed the old dragon was using his skill to talk to him.

With a nod at each other, the four of them dispersed in different directions.
