Chapter 109: Beginning of Apocalypse
Kael didn't really need to discuss much with his group about his plan since they didn't really have one.
All of them were new to this area and had no clue about it. So they were just going to randomly search for some medium-range Beast Tribes.
After all, they couldn't afford to offend any of the bigger tribes. Any of them would easily crush all of them... well, maybe not all, considering they had Rias with them.
But Kael didn't plan to use her for obvious reasons. Even if he went against his conscience, there was no way a Demi-God could remain hidden after acting.
Rias was already an anomaly for moving around without alerting anyone, but if she truly acted, Kael was afraid it would alert other factions.
And they weren't strong enough to face any of them.
Besides, if he used Rias to get work done, then it would only be a nation formed with fear. He didn't want that because he neither liked it nor did his Ultimate Skill allow him to do that.
After all, if he followed this method, then no one would truly try to strengthen their bond, meaning everything would be pointless.
Why would he make a nation then?
He had no interest in ruling.
This was the reason for his approach of slowly expanding his Empire.
Before moving out, they once again went to check on their town. They stood on one of the thick branches that stretched far in the distance toward their town and overlooked it.
The town had expanded slightly with more than ten buildings, a well, fences, and many other things.
It was all done by them in their free time, during which they rested like when they had to replenish their Mana. It gave them comfort and relaxation knowing that they were building their own home.
In the distance, one could also see the clear water flowing through the canal. It created such a surreal view that mesmerized all of them, even though it was them who built it.
They felt proud for some reason and looked at the man standing at the front. With his long silvery hair fluttering behind and his thoughtful face with a smile, he gave the aura of a true-born leader.
He was the reason for all of this. He gave them a new home, and for that, they were truly grateful. And they didn't mean home as in buildings.
Their home was in his heart.
Kael also stared at the little town with a strange sense of pride which he couldn't understand properly. After all, he had made camps before and lived in much bigger metropolises.
How can this little town which wasn't even comparable to a village touch his heart so much?
'I guess I'm too easily pleased.'
He turned around and said, "Are you ready to conquer the world?"
"Yes!!"
While Kiona shouted loudly, the twin lions roared loudly as they jumped to the edges of the branches. Their roar reverberated through the entire area, shaking the air and all the beasts who dared to venture into their domain.
Their aura erupted in waves, scaring every single living being in a wide radius around the Great Storm Tree.
Kael rolled his eyes at them and muttered, "Show-offs!"
However, even as he said that, a smile played on his lips, showing how happy he was with their progress.
He clicked his fingers to get their attention and said, "Let's go! It's just morning, so we need to find a Beast Tribe before evening."
The lions jumped down from the Storm Tree, their mighty figures shaking the very ground they landed on. Their massive size was truly enough to scare many.
Kael smiled at Kiona and jumped on top of Seth while she went to take her place on top of Jon. Then, they set off eastward, where the humans had holes in their encirclement.
As for Rias, Kael didn't have to worry about her. One thing he understood about her after spending so much time with her was that she was really lazy and always used the Astral World to travel even a small distance.
She was probably keeping an eye on them by occasionally jumping distances, as she could easily sense them across a vast area.
Well, he wouldn't be surprised if she could sense them through the Astral World, so she didn't even bother coming out.
The Astral World was truly a place of wonder.
As they were moving rapidly through the dense vegetation, Jon began to feel strange because of the silence. He couldn't explain it, but he felt weird just seeing everyone keeping their mouths shut. Find thе trаnslаtiоn оn МV&LЕМРYR.
He seemed to roll his eyes at them and asked, "Master, I've been curious for a while, so can I ask you something?"
"Curiosity can be dangerous," Kael smiled and asked. "Still, What is it?"
"I can understand why we aren't moving to the West and even North is understandable since there are the Frost Mountains. But what about South?" Jon asked.
The other two also perked up their ears. Literally. They knew a few things about the southern region of the Valoran Wilds, so they were really curious about that place.
Even Kiona knew only a few things because of her teacher, like how the further south you moved, the stronger Beast Tribes you would find.
She wanted to answer but decided to wait to hear her master's answer. He was probably more knowledgeable than her.
Kael thought about it for a while before answering, "The fact that there are many strong Beast Tribes settled there is one of the reasons I don't want to go there, but there is another one."
"And that is?" Seth asked.
"Do you know why those strong Beast Tribes are there?" Seeing them shake their heads, Kael sighed and answered. "It's because of the existence of Corrupted Creatures there."
Yes, the corruption had already begun to spread in this world just as Draven had warned him. The apocalypse was truly here for Eldryn too.
But most of the people were unaware of it except for the bigger forces—for one single reason.
Portals.
The apocalypse was still in its early stages, so there were a few portals opened in the southern region. They were constantly spewing out Corrupted Creatures into the world, starting the apocalypse.
As someone who had survived... or maybe not... in the Apocalyptic World, Kael was well aware of the apocalypse's early signs.
It would make a few portals in the world in the beginning, throwing Corrupted Creatures into the land. For Earthlings, the apocalypse began right there since they were mere mortals.
But it was different for residents of Eldryn. They were accustomed to strange supernatural stuff and even had Labyrinths left behind by the Gods.
Most people considered the portals as the exit of Labyrinths of some unknown world, and that was the reason so many 'Monsters' were coming out of it.
So technically, the apocalypse had not really started in this world.
But the world leaders could contact other worlds and knew about the apocalypse clearly. But they didn't plan to disclose this information to the public yet.
It was because, in the early stages, the portals were weak and sent weaklings since they had to wait for a while to truly bring forth destruction.
The world leaders were using this chance to let their subordinates rank up by slaughtering the Corrupted Creatures. Surprisingly, even the world would grant them extra Soul Force because they were standing against a foreign hostile force.
It truly was the perfect EXP farm.
Of course, the beasts didn't really know much about it, but they still found the portals and laid claims to the ones which opened in the southern region of Valoran Wilds.
The portals were actually a godsend opportunity for them as they could use them unlike the Labyrinths.
This was the sole reason why most of the strongest forces of beasts were focused in the South.
Knowing all of that, how could Kael move there unless he had a death wish?
As much as he hated the apocalypse, he had to suppress the urge to go and slaughter all of those Corrupted monsters.
He truly hated them to the core. Just their sight disgusted him so much that he had once forgotten about his meal just to clear out a tide of them.
That slaughter earned him a title from the masses.
[The Devil Incarnation of Hatred. Interesting name. They should also add the Strongest Racist since you hate that race so much.]
Kael chuckled to himself hearing that but stopped when he felt three pairs of eyes staring at him.
Only then did he remember that they were all actually waiting for his explanation while he was busy overthinking.
'Oii! Let me do the classic monologue.'
But he also knew he needed to improve this habit.
As for the lion family, they didn't think much and patiently waited for his explanation.
They had already gotten used to his strange state of overthinking.
