Chapter 29: Chapter 29 What Kind of Monster Is This?! To Save or Not to Save!

Water Style: Great Waterfall Technique is an offensive A-rank ninjutsu of the Water Style series.

It can spray huge water balls from the mouth to attack enemies.

Since it is an A-rank ninjutsu, the hand seals are very complicated, requiring a total of seventeen hand gestures!

Kakashi would need at least three seconds to complete it, which is already faster than most ninjas!

But this guy, Morkel, actually completed the seals in just two seconds!

What's even more shocking is that the power of the technique he used was far from weak!

The endless flow of water quickly extinguished the fire!

Yet, Morkel still seemed unsatisfied and spat out two more torrents of water!

Kakashi: ∑(?д?ノ)ノ

Did this guy really just graduate from the Ninja Academy?!

Why does he know so many advanced ninjutsu?

Do all ninja schools teach this now?!

"Alright, it's done."

After successfully putting out the fire, Morkel wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"Gulp~"

Dazna swallowed hard.

This… this…

Even if ninjas are stronger than ordinary people, they can't be this strong!

Can you really just put out a fire you started?!

Not far away, Naruto lowered his head in shame.

When the enemy attacked earlier, he had been too scared to move, becoming a burden to the team.

And now, he had just watched Morkel stay calm under pressure, burn two assassins to death with extraordinary ninjutsu, and then put out a forest fire as if it was nothing.

They were all from the same Ninja Academy, ate together, trained together, and yet… the gap between them was massive.

Sasuke, standing beside Naruto, was equally shocked.

What kind of monster is this?!

He had thought that since Morkel knew Fire Style, he could just learn Fire Style too, and they would be more or less equal.

But now, Morkel could also use incredibly powerful Water Style techniques?!

Are we even learning from the same teachers?!

Why can he do everything that I can't?!

Morkel, oblivious to Naruto and Sasuke's reactions, turned anxiously to Kakashi, worried about the punishment he might face.

But then, he noticed the look of horror on Kakashi's face.

Morkel assumed it was because Kakashi was worried about the damage the fire had caused.

The forest fire would surely cause trouble for Konoha.

Feeling even guiltier, Morkel lowered his head and admitted, "Teacher Kakashi, please punish me."

"Even though I put out the fire with Water Style, the damage was still done."

"Ah? Oh! Yes! You should be punished!"

Kakashi was stunned for a moment before quickly regaining his composure.

He cleared his throat and said sternly, "Be careful next time when you use ninjutsu!"

"The power of a ninja is far greater than that of ordinary people. If you're not careful, you might hurt those around you. You must learn to control your strength!"

Morkel nodded solemnly.

After all, he had accidentally hurt others several times before due to a lack of control over his abilities.

He had to work on his chakra control!

At that moment, Naruto suddenly let out a pained cry and clutched his hand.

Morkel rushed over. "What's wrong?"

When the enemy had attacked earlier, Naruto had been standing near Kakashi and was unfortunately scratched by the assassins' thorny chains.

After a quick bandage, the team was ready to move on.

However, Kakashi suddenly stopped and turned to Dazna. "Mr. Dazna, there's something you need to explain to us."

"You didn't mention that you were being targeted by ninjas when you issued this mission."

"Our job was to protect you from bandits and robbers, not fight off trained assassins."

"Falsifying mission details can put us all in serious danger."

Dazna looked embarrassed and remained silent.

Kakashi continued, "You need to tell us everything. Who just attacked you? And why are they after you?"

Naruto, Sasuke, and Morkel all turned their eyes toward Dazna.

As exciting as this mission had been, they weren't willing to take unnecessary risks without knowing the full story.

Under the weight of their gazes, Dazna knew he could no longer hide the truth.

With a heavy sigh, he sat down and began to speak.

"I'm sorry. I lied to you."

"The truth is, my life has long been targeted by a very dangerous man."

"You may have heard of him—Cardo, the shipping magnate."

"Cardo?"

Kakashi's tone grew serious.

As a seasoned ninja, he was all too familiar with that name.

"He's one of the richest men in the world."

Dazna nodded grimly. "Yes. On the surface, he's just the boss of a shipping company. But in reality, he uses gangs and hired ninjas to conduct illegal business, take over companies, and even control entire nations."

"A year ago, Cardo set his sights on the Land of Waves. Using his vast wealth and brutal tactics, he took over all of our sea trade."

"For an island nation like ours, controlling the sea means controlling everything—our economy, our government, even our people."

"The only thing Cardo fears is the bridge we're building. If we complete it, he'll lose his monopoly."

"So, as the lead bridge builder, I became a problem that needed to be 'dealt with.'"

Naruto's eyes widened. "So that's why you're being targeted!"

Sasuke smirked. "Not bad, Naruto. I thought you were too dumb to figure it out."

Naruto pouted. "Don't underestimate me!"

Kakashi raised a hand to silence them, then looked back at Dazna. "But there's something I still don't understand. If this mission was so dangerous, why didn't you tell the village the truth? We could have assigned stronger ninjas for the job."

Dazna sighed deeply. "The Land of Waves is a poor country. Even our Daimyo is struggling for money. I don't have the funds to pay for an expensive B-rank or A-rank mission."

Kakashi ran a hand through his hair, looking exasperated. "This situation is way beyond a simple escort mission. I'm sorry, but we have to end the mission here. I won't risk my students' lives for something they weren't prepared for."

Naruto shot up to his feet. "But if we leave, Uncle Dazna will die! And the Land of Waves will be stuck under Cardo's rule forever!"

Even Sasuke, who usually kept to himself, spoke up. "Yeah. If we don't help, he's finished."

Kakashi sighed.

These kids were giving him a headache.

He turned to Morkel, his final student.

If even one of them refused to continue the mission, he'd take them all back to Konoha immediately.

Morkel met Kakashi's gaze and fell into deep thought.

Saving a country sounded noble.

Once, he might have dreamed of such heroics.

But safety had to come first.

So he asked Kakashi, "Can you guarantee our safety?"

Kakashi smirked. "I won't let any of you get hurt as long as I'm standing."

Morkel crossed his arms. "But Naruto just got scratched."

Kakashi: …

Ugh.
