Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Body Flicker Technique! Flying!

"They must have been fed up with it for a long time, but they just didn't say it," Naruto pouted.

"Naruto, don't be disrespectful to the Hokage-sama," Kakashi reminded him.

"Well, since you want to take on a more challenging mission, I happen to have a C-rank mission to escort someone," the Third Hokage said helplessly.

The door to the Hokage's office was pushed open, revealing a disheveled man in his fifties, wearing glasses and untidy clothes. He leaned against the doorframe, holding a bottle of sake, clearly drunk.

"Are these the ninjas who are supposed to protect me?" he scoffed. "Why are they all just kids? Especially that yellow-haired one—he looks like a fool."

Naruto clenched his fists. "I am a genuine Konoha Shinobi! Don't underestimate me!"

The Third Hokage introduced, "This is the man you will be protecting, Dazna. He is a very skilled bridge engineer."

"He is absolutely the worst client ever!" Naruto huffed.

"Naruto, wait for Hokage-sama to finish speaking," Morkel nudged Naruto, making him quiet down.

The Third Hokage continued, "Your mission is to escort Mr. Dazna back to the Land of Waves to build a bridge. Simple, right?"

"The Land of Waves? That means we can leave the village now!" Naruto cheered.

The drunken Dazna grumbled, "You really are just kids. I bet you've never left the village in your life."

"Don't underestimate me, old man!" Naruto shouted.

Leaving the Village

Half an hour later, Team 7 and Dazna arrived at the village gates.

Naruto turned back to look at Konoha one last time, his excitement bubbling over. "Finally, I get to see the outside world!"

Even Morkel felt a twinge of anticipation. This was his first time stepping beyond Konoha's borders.

Kakashi brought them back to reality. "Alright, check your equipment."

As the team checked their gear, Morkel suddenly lifted his head, sensing an unusual chakra fluctuation from the dense forest.

Just as he noticed it, the presence vanished.

Was someone watching them? Or was he just imagining it?

"Morkel, what's wrong?" Kakashi asked.

"Nothing, I just saw a bird I didn't recognize," Morkel replied, covering up his suspicion.

"Alright, if everyone is ready, let's move out," Kakashi commanded.

Understanding the World

As they traveled, the group chatted with Dazna.

Naruto asked, "Why did you come all the way to Konoha for help? Doesn't the Land of Waves have its own ninjas?"

"Idiot, didn't you learn basic geography at the academy?" Kakashi sighed, smacking Naruto lightly on the head.

"The existence of a ninja village is tied to a country's military power. Small nations like the Land of Waves don't have ninja villages—they rely on hiring ninja from major villages like ours."

"Ohh, right! Iruka-sensei did talk about that… I just forgot."

Dazna scoffed. "Can an airheaded ninja like you really protect me?"

"Don't underestimate me! I'm going to be the Hokage one day!" Naruto declared.

"Hokage? Isn't that like, the strongest ninja?" Dazna mused.

"Exactly! I'm going to surpass even that wrinkly old Third Hokage!"

"Hey, show some respect for Hokage-sama," Kakashi groaned. Naruto never learned...

An Idea Takes Flight

After hours of walking, Morkel found himself deep in thought.

Ninjas ran fast, but escort missions required moving at the pace of civilians. Wasn't there a way to make travel easier?

His eyes wandered to the sky, where several eagles soared overhead. A thought struck him.

"Morkel, what are you staring at?" Naruto tugged at his sleeve.

"I'm wondering if we could ride those eagles."

Naruto blinked. "What? That's crazy!"

"Yeah, that bird is hundreds of meters up. Stop daydreaming, kid," Dazna added.

Morkel didn't reply. He was already formulating a plan.

He reached into his ninja tool pouch, pulling out a shuriken inscribed with the Body Flicker Technique.

With a swift flick, he hurled the shuriken skyward.

"Swish!"

But gravity was unforgiving. The shuriken slowed and began to fall back down.

Morkel was ready. He formed a seal and activated the Body Flicker Technique.

In a blink, he vanished from the ground.

Reappearing mid-air, he caught the shuriken and threw it again before he could fall.

Another teleportation.

Throw. Teleport. Throw again.

After repeating the process twice, Morkel found himself nearly level with the eagles.

The eagle squawked in alarm—one moment it was flying peacefully, and the next, a human had appeared beside it!

Morkel reached out, his hand glowing with sealing energy. A contract seal formed between him and the bird.

The eagle, now bonded to him, calmed instantly.

With a smirk, Morkel climbed onto the eagle's back and began his descent toward the ground.

A Shocking Sight

On the ground, Sasuke, Naruto, Kakashi, and Dazna all stared in disbelief.

"What… the… hell…?" Naruto gaped.

"How… how did he do that?!" Sasuke's hands clenched into fists.

Kakashi rubbed his temples. "That's not something a Genin should be capable of…"

Dazna, mouth agape, muttered, "What kind of crazy ninja is this kid?!"

Morkel landed gracefully, hopping off the eagle's back. He patted its head as if this was an everyday occurrence.

"Alright, I figured out a new travel method," he said casually. "Who wants a ride?"

The group remained speechless.

At this moment, their shock was no less than if someone had claimed they could fly by stepping on their own foot.

Naruto broke the silence. "…I wanna try!"

And just like that, Morkel had introduced a completely new concept to the ninja world.
