Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Morkel is Amazing!

"Superb!"

Facing the flood of Morkel's clones, Kakashi silently began forming hand seals. However, before he could complete them, he suddenly felt a slight tug on the bell hanging from his waist.

When he looked down, he saw one of Morkel's clones attempting to snatch the bell away!

"Just like Naruto, you're trying to use your clones to create a distraction while your real body goes for the bell?"

"Too naive!"

Kakashi instantly assessed the situation and reacted. With a swift motion, he twisted his body to the side.

Cling!

The bell that Morkel had almost grabbed was immediately reclaimed by Kakashi. Without missing a beat, he completed his hand seals.

Whoosh!

His figure vanished into thin air, leaving only a dry branch in his place.

This was the classic ninja escape technique—Body Replacement Technique.

Reappearing on a tree branch nearby, Kakashi analyzed the situation.

Shadow Clone Technique creates multiple physical copies, each with independent thoughts, much like the original. This can lead to confusion and internal conflict among the clones. Kakashi had counted on this flaw to shake off Morkel's attack and create discord among his clones.

However, something about Morkel's clones seemed…off.

Rather than panicking or arguing once Kakashi disappeared, they simply stood still. Like machines on standby after completing a task.

"What's going on here?"

Kakashi muttered under his breath.

Just then—

Swoosh!

Morkel suddenly appeared behind him!

Still midair, Morkel swiftly plucked the bell from Kakashi's waist before landing gracefully on the ground.

Kakashi blinked.

Wait—what just happened?!

How had this kid suddenly appeared behind him?

Naruto, who had been watching from a distance, was equally stunned.

We both started by using clones… so why is there such a huge difference?!

Even Sasuke, who had been observing from a hidden spot, was shocked.

He had strategically chosen to remain concealed, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. But now, watching Morkel's aggressive and effective approach, he realized that his own method might not have been the smartest choice after all.

What baffled Sasuke even more was—how had Morkel moved so fast?

"Teacher, does this mean I've passed the test?" Morkel asked humbly.

Kakashi didn't answer right away. Instead, he carefully examined the bell in Morkel's hand.

His years of experience as an Anbu operative made him exceptionally perceptive, and it didn't take long for him to notice something strange.

A tiny tree-like pattern was etched onto the bell's surface.

And more importantly—it was radiating a familiar time-space fluctuation!

Kakashi's eyes widened slightly.

This… This is the same energy as the Fourth Hokage's technique!

The Flying Thunder God Technique!

Developed by the Second Hokage and later perfected by the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato, it was one of the most powerful S-rank jutsu in existence.

Minato had used this technique to become Konoha's Yellow Flash, feared by enemies across the ninja world!

But… how did this boy know it?

Even if the Third Hokage had taught him, it wouldn't explain how he had learned it so quickly. Flying Thunder God required incredible intelligence and spatial awareness, far beyond what most shinobi could comprehend.

Even Kakashi himself—once hailed as a prodigy—had never been able to master it!

Now, he finally understood why the Third Hokage had warned him not to be too surprised before taking on this team.

That was a preemptive warning.

Morkel has monstrous chakra reserves.

He's only twelve and has already mastered an S-rank technique.

His combat experience may be lacking, but his intelligence is frightening.

This kid might even be stronger than I was at his age!

"Teacher, if you think my method was unfair, I can try grabbing the bell again," Morkel said nervously, mistaking Kakashi's silence for disapproval.

"Try again?" Kakashi echoed, intrigued.

Actually, he hadn't thought Morkel's approach was unfair at all.

In fact, he was curious to see what other surprises this red-haired prodigy had in store.

Kakashi weighed his options for a moment before shaking his head. "No need. You got the bell through your own ability, so it counts."

Then, he added, "Remember—as a ninja, the mission comes first. Your goal was to get the bell. You succeeded. How you did it doesn't matter."

Though this philosophy leaned toward the pragmatic and ruthless, Kakashi felt it was important for rookie ninjas to understand. Missions weren't always fair. And sometimes, outsmarting your opponent was the key to survival.

Morkel seemed to ponder his words for a moment before asking, "So if we take both bells, we pass, right?"

Kakashi, not thinking too much about it, casually responded, "Of course, but—"

Before he could finish, his eyes widened in shock.

Morkel spread out his hands, revealing not one but two bells!

"So if I take both, does that mean the mission is complete?" Morkel asked.

"Can all three of us pass?"

Kakashi was completely dumbfounded.

His hands instinctively went to his waist—

The bells were really gone!

Morkel took them both in an instant?!

When?!

Kakashi's mind raced. He was sure that he had tied the bells on opposite sides of his waist. There was no way someone could take both at once—

But Morkel had done exactly that!

This kid… is incredible!

"Teacher, you said if both bells are taken, the mission is complete," Morkel reminded him.

Kakashi sighed, rubbing the back of his head. He had been completely outmaneuvered by a twelve-year-old.

Still, he wasn't going to let Morkel win that easily. He smirked and said, "Alright, fine. But you have to pick which two out of the three of you will pass."

Kakashi's eyes gleamed mischievously.

Let's see how you handle this, Morkel.

He was curious to see the boy's decision-making skills.

Would he keep a bell for himself and give the other to Naruto, his closest friend?

Or would he be selfless and hand them to Naruto and Sasuke?

Faced with this dilemma, Morkel thought for a moment before asking, "Does one bell equal one passing spot?"

Kakashi nodded. "Yes."

Morkel smiled. "Then… all three of us can pass."

Kakashi raised an eyebrow. "And how do you figure that? You only have two—"

Before he could finish, Morkel spread his hands again.

His palms were full of bells!

There were at least twenty or thirty of them!

Kakashi's jaw nearly dropped.

Morkel… you little genius!
