Chapter 109: Chapter 107

In a dimly lit Lexcorp warehouse, steel-framed and industrial, several workers carefully maneuvered a large metallic container. Their movements were deliberate, each step calculated to minimize potential risk. Heavy-duty gloves and protective gear covered their bodies, indicating the sensitive nature of their cargo.

"Watch the east corner," one worker called out to another. "This container cannot be compromised."

Armed guards stood strategically around the loading area, their weapons drawn and postures tense. The vehicle waiting to receive the container was a reinforced military-style transport truck, its dark green exterior suggesting maximum security protocols.

A worker with a clipboard approached the lead guard. "If this container breaches, we're looking at a potential environmental disaster."

The guard nodded, understanding the gravity of their task. His eyes scanned the warehouse, ensuring no unexpected movements or potential threats could interrupt the loading process.

Another worker spoke up, his voice low and serious. "Be extremely careful. This container is highly radioactive. One crack, and we're all looking at severe contamination."

The workers carefully maneuvered the metallic container onto the transport truck. Each movement was precise, calculated to prevent any potential damage. Steel clasps locked into place with a sharp, resonant click. The lead worker checked the securing mechanisms, running his gloved hand along the container's edges to ensure a perfect fit.

"Container secured," he announced to the team.

The military-style transport truck's engine rumbled to life. Two additional armored vehicles positioned themselves - one in front, one behind - creating a protective convoy. The lead guard signaled, and the vehicles began to move.

The streets were quiet. Streetlights cast long shadows across empty sidewalks. No pedestrians walked. No other vehicles moved. The convoy rolled forward, its wheels making a steady, rhythmic sound against the smooth asphalt. The protective vehicles maintained a tight formation around the central transport truck, their movements synchronized and deliberate.

The quiet streets seemed to part for the convoy, offering an unobstructed path through the city.

The convoy rolled forward, its wheels making a steady, rhythmic sound against the smooth asphalt. Suddenly, a massive figure dropped from the sky, landing directly in front of the lead vehicle with an earth-shaking impact.

Beams of intense, searing energy erupted from the creature's body, striking the lead truck with devastating precision. The vehicle toppled sideways, metal screeching and sparking as it crashed onto its side. Dust and debris billowed outward from the point of impact.

The remaining vehicles ground to an abrupt halt. Guards poured out, their tactical training kicking in immediately. Weapons raised, they formed a defensive perimeter, scanning for the threat.

Their weapons wavered as they took in the creature before them.

It stood approximately three meters tall, with a metallic, crustacean-like exoskeleton that gleamed under the streetlights. Large, compound eyes pulsed with an eerie, yellowish-red glow. Its body was segmented, with sharp, angular plates that looked like they could slice through steel. Where hands should be, massive pincers clicked menacingly, each joint moving with an unnatural, mechanical precision.

The creature's movements were jerky, almost insect-like, creating an unsettling contrast to its humanoid shape. Its skin had a silvery-gray sheen, reflecting the surrounding streetlights in sharp, angular patterns.

The guards stood frozen, their weapons trained on the otherworldly being. Some trembled visibly, while others remained stock-still, unable to comprehend the entity that had just decimated their lead vehicle.

The creature's compound eyes swept across the scene, taking in every detail with an alien, calculating gaze.

The lead guard, his voice steady despite the trembling in his hands, stepped forward. "Surrender immediately! You are surrounded and outgunned!"

The creature's compound eyes locked onto him. For a moment, silence hung heavy in the air.

Then it happened.

A deep, echoing laugh erupted from the creature. "HOHOHOHOHO!"

The sound was mechanical yet organic, reverberating through the street with an unnatural quality that made the guards' skin crawl. Some involuntarily took a step back, their professional composure momentarily shattered by the unsettling laughter.

The lead guard, recovering from the initial shock, steeled himself. His training kicked in, overriding his momentary fear. He turned to his team, his voice sharp and commanding.

"Open fire!"

The guards' rifles erupted in a thunderous volley, muzzle flashes cutting through the night. Bullets streaked toward the metallic creature, who moved with impossible speed and precision. Its segmented body twisted and bent, avoiding the gunfire with an almost liquid grace.

In a blur of motion, the creature launched itself at the nearest group of guards. Massive pincers sliced through tactical armor like paper, sending men flying. One guard's scream was cut short as a pincer crushed his chest, metal and bone crumpling simultaneously.

The creature moved between the guards with surgical efficiency. Each movement was a deadly dance - dodging, striking, dismembering. Weapons clattered to the ground as limbs were severed with surgical precision. Compound eyes tracked multiple targets simultaneously, anticipating every movement before the guards could react.

A rocket launcher emerged from the second vehicle. Before the operator could aim, the creature's hand erupted with crackling energy. A brilliant beam sliced through the weapon and the man holding it, leaving nothing but ash.

Guards scattered, their disciplined formation dissolving into pure panic. The creature seemed to multiply, its body creating multiple identical copies that moved in perfect synchronization. Some guards shot at these duplicates, only to realize too late they were being systematically surrounded.

Pincers crushed. Energy beams sliced. Bodies fell like wheat before a scythe. The street transformed into a killing ground, with the metallic creature moving at the center of a whirlwind of destruction.

In less than two minutes, silence descended. Broken bodies lay everywhere. The creature stood alone, not a single scratch marring its gleaming exoskeleton.

The creature approached the overturned transport truck. Its segmented body moved with precise, mechanical grace. Metallic pincers reached out, effortlessly tearing through the vehicle's reinforced side panel. Inside, the radioactive container gleamed under the streetlights.

With surprising gentleness, the creature extracted the container. Its compound eyes scanned the metallic surface, seemingly analyzing its contents. In one fluid motion, it lifted the heavy container as if it weighed nothing.

Sirens wailed in the distance. The creature's head turned, tracking the sound. Emergency response was approaching. Without hesitation, it moved swiftly, carrying the container away from the massacre.

Minutes later, emergency vehicles flooded the scene. Paramedics and police officers emerged, weapons drawn. They found a street littered with bodies - guards torn apart with surgical precision. The transport truck lay on its side, its cargo bay open and empty.

A senior police officer surveyed the carnage, his face grim. "What the hell happened here?" he muttered.

Forensic teams began documenting the scene. The radioactive container was gone, leaving behind only questions and death.
