Volume 3 Chapter 2
2. Fated Encounter
Currently, Yue Liu had already used the Nine-Tailed Fox clan’s special illusion technique to specifically conceal her ears and tails… Unless someone was an overwhelmingly powerful expert far beyond her realm, it was impossible to see through.
Thus, she appeared to be a human.
Actually, before this, Yue Liu had asked her master to persuade the Nine-Tailed Fox Emperor to give her a chance to go out and train.
She had heard that in the human world, there were some highly skilled swordsmen.
Although in terms of physical strength, humans were far inferior to other races… in terms of swordsmanship and attainments in the way of the sword, they were indeed commendable.
Even her master, the Great Swordmaster Bai Yang, had gone to the human world before and sparred with numerous human warriors, gaining insights that elevated his swordsmanship to new heights.
With the idea of honing her swordsmanship, Yue Liu left her country, intending to go to the human world… She especially wanted to meet the Human Sword Saint, who could even challenge the Silver Dragon Queen of the Dragon Kingdom.
After training herself better in the human world, when she faced the Silver Dragon Princess Xia Yi again, she would be more confident in defeating her, and then—
Conquer her!
However, on the way to the human world, Yue Liu saw a strange fellow on the passenger ship in the Blackstone Kingdom.
A little human mage with black hair and black eyes.
Although Yue Liu didn’t know her, the other party kept staring at her with an unusual gaze.
What was even stranger was that after seeing this little human mage, Yue Liu inexplicably started to care.
There was no need for it at all. But in a fit of inexplicable annoyance, Yue Liu said that sentence.
“What are you looking at?”
“What’s it to you if I look?”
Yue Liu thought, good grief, was this a provocation?
Was she trying to pick a fight?
“Try staring again, see what happens?”
Hearing the other party’s response, Xia Yi was also slightly startled.
She became even more annoyed.
No matter how she looked at the other party, it didn’t sit well with her.
She decided to give this swordswoman an unpleasant nickname.
Let’s call her…
Pinky!
Hmph, I’m the Human Sword Saint. I’ve never been afraid of anyone!
I dared to venture into the dragon territory alone and challenge the Silver Dragon Queen. In terms of courage, few could compare to me!
“I’ll try if you want me to try!” Xia Yi retorted.
Hearing these words, Yue Liu became agitated and strode to Xia Yi, staring at her.
How could Xia Yi show weakness? She glared back with her eyes. She found that her height seemed to be at a disadvantage… So she specially stood on tiptoe. With her large magic hat, her height had already surpassed Pinky’s.
Victory!
“Are you trying to pick a fight?” Yue Liu asked.
“I think you’re the one trying to pick a fight.” Xia Yi refuted. “There’s so much space on this deck. Why did you have to run in front of me to show off?”
Especially the other party’s chest. How was her nourishment so much better than her own?
They had already surpassed Xia Yi’s little rice cakes.
Damn it!
The atmosphere between the two girls was already filled with the smell of gunpowder, as if sparks could fly at any moment, ready to explode.
The passenger ship was sailing smoothly on the Great River when suddenly there was a muffled bang, as if it had hit something, and the ship began to shake violently.
A few shadows appeared in the sky, their backs to the scorching sun, casting onto the deck of the passenger ship.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
With each landing sound, a group of burly lizardmen appeared.
These lizardmen looked fierce, wielding weapons, with scars on their faces, clearly not here with good intentions.
They seemed to be a gang of bandits.
“Big Bro, look, it’s her!”
“That’s right, it’s that little rich girl.”
The leader of the lizardmen, wearing an eyepatch, discovered Xia Yi after his subordinate’s identification and laughed.
“Go, take control of the ship and round up everyone.”
“Yes, sir!”
A few lizardman bandits, holding weapons, ran into the cabin. After a while, they drove all the passengers on the ship out and gathered them on the deck… The ship’s crew had been restrained, and the ship was now stopped on the river.
“No! Don’t kill us!”
“We have money, we have money! Don’t hurt us!”
“We know the rules! Don’t do anything rash!”
The passengers on the ship pleaded in panic.
“Boss, it’s done. The guards on this ship were a joke. They were taken down in a few moves and are now tied up!” A lizardman reported to the boss.
“Mm, very good.” The bandit leader was very satisfied.
“Who are you?” Xia Yi asked.
“Little human lady, we’re just trying to make a living,” the bandit leader laughed. “I have a gang of brothers to feed. Every day when I wake up, I have to find a way to fill their stomachs. They happen to have big appetites. There’s no other way. I can only come to this Great River and demand a toll from the passing ships…”
Xia Yi understood.
When she used gold coins to buy a ticket at the port earlier, she had been targeted.
Because under normal circumstances, daily expenses wouldn’t require such a large denomination of currency as gold coins. At the port, these bandits would have informants to select suitable ships to strike.
Coincidentally, it was the one she had boarded.
“Hmph, bandits are bandits. They’re clearly just a bunch of lowlifes, yet they still beat around the bush.” Yue Liu laughed disdainfully.
“Don’t provoke them anymore! Dear passenger!” A crew reminded. “They are the tyrants who have been lurking in this area, but as long as we give them money, they won’t make things too difficult for us!”
“That’s right, Little Lady. I advise you to keep quiet. We have professional ethics. As long as you cooperate obediently and hand over your valuables, we won’t do anything more… After all, we all live on this land. It’s not easy,” the bandit leader laughed. “But if you insist on courting death and angering my subordinates, I won’t be able to stop them when they get impulsive.”
“My sword is restless. Can you hear it whispering? It yearns to break free from its restraints and drink the blood of the ignorant!”
Yue Liu felt that the atmosphere was just right and quickly adjusted her tone, trying to sound profound.
However, her self-perceived cool lines didn’t receive good reviews. Instead, no one understood what she was trying to express.
“Boss, there seems to be something wrong with this woman’s brain!”
“Miss, I advise you to put down your weapon. Otherwise, things won’t be so simple.”
“Before my sword unleashes its bloodthirsty roar, run! Desperately flee from this hell of death!” Yue Liu declared.
“She’s courting death. Brothers, get her!”
The bandit boss felt Yue Liu might be somewhat capable, so he ordered his men to subdue her together.
“Heh.”
Yue Liu let out a cold laugh, scanning everyone with her gaze before closing her eyes.
She had already locked onto the positions of all the bandits in her mind. She placed her hand on the hilt of her sword, ready to unleash a strike to instantly slay all her enemies in one fell swoop.
That scene would definitely be super cool!
“Unsheathe—”
Boom!!
Just as Yue Liu was about to unsheathe her weapon, an explosion occurred, followed by a wave of scorching heat.
“Ahhh!!”
The bandits let out painful cries, turning into human torches as they collapsed to the ground, losing their combat ability and rolling around.
“So powerful!! That mage defeated all the bandits in one move!!”
The ship’s passengers cheered.
Yue Liu was dumbfounded. She saw Xia Yi standing on the high railing, holding a magic wand in her hand, using Fire Magic to defeat the bandits.
She had been building up the atmosphere for so long, finally reaching the climax, only to have it all stolen away!
She was about to explode with anger!
Xia Yi looked at Yue Liu, the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but curve into a mocking smile.
“Oh dear, how did I end up stealing your thunder? My apologies, Stinky Pinky—”
