Chapter 495 - Staying Back at Marahuyo (Part 5)
The first member of the carnivore beast man faction that spoke was the same one I met in that unfortunate village near Lyartaim. His name was Artak, the dying leopard beast man that I met inside a cave in Izvratya and Pelle's chance encounter friend during the little kid's instances of sneaking out.
As I looked around the room, it actually made me realize one thing. All of the people the beast men who chose to stay behind were familiar faces from that time that I led that rescue mission in Izvratya. I don't want to assume the reason why they want to speak to me in private so I am currently waiting to hear it straight from their own mouths.
Once all the elders and those that don't have any questions or complaints have left, it was just me, my three husbands and 5 other beast men inside the meeting hall. Besides Artak, there were four other beast men who could not be more than 30 if we just look into their physical features. There was a lion beast man named Luan, a tiger beast man named Toran, a wolf beast man named Felan and the only omnivore in the group, a fox beast man named Voss.
I am observing all of them quietly from where I was sitting while my husbands chose to sit on the chairs next to mine. I know this is a serious discussion but I want to laugh with how my three men are clearly drawing a line and staking their claim on me. Too bad, they can't really stop other men from pursuing any woman they fancy and polygamy is practically the norm in this world so that's about it on that issue.
Artak was the first one who came forward to speak. I know he was quite blunt with his words and brave too from the first time I met and spoke with him but you can still get surprises and discover new things from someone you already know for some time. He uttered a very direct statement that took the word "blunt" to the next level, "I owe my life to you so everything I have is yours from that day forward. I will do anything you need of me. I mean ANYTHING. I don't mind having your children anytime too if you deem me worthy of having them."
It took every part of my being to not choke on his statement especially that my three husbands can hear such a blunt confession of loyalty and obedience. I kept my face emotionless because I am quite sure that three pairs of eyes are observing me closely.
Egged by the bravery and bluntness of Artak, the others were also about to step forward and give their vows or something so before things get even more awkward that it already is, I raised my hand to signal them to stop speaking and not say whatever was in their minds as of now. I sighed and asked, "Are you saying that since I saved you all, you are going to pay me back using your bodies?"
The other four who weren't given the chance to talk, nodded enthusiastically with stars obvious reverence in their eyes as they were looking at me. I slowly closed my eyes, feeling a very bad headache which is starting to kick in. While my eyes are still closed, I felt several pairs of eyes staring at me as if they wanted to create holes through my body. I don't know if I open my eyes again inside this room just to check where the glares came from.
I slowly opened my eyes again with a furrow between my eyebrows, trying to avoid looking into my husbands' directions. I looked forward and on this side, instead of glares, I could see the eager stares that were coming from the other four men in the room. The only one who had a different way of looking at me was Artak. His was a look of not only reverence but also a strong conviction which means he most likely won't accept a "No" from me in this lifetime.
I sighed once again and replied as vaguely as I could on purpose. I can't say no for since doing so would hinder the progress of my mission but I can't also say "Yes" in front of my jealous and very pregnant husbands. This answer was the only safest route I can take for now as I responded to Artak, "I will seriously consider your proposals. I will let you know in the near future once I have made my decision on this matter. Still, thank you for your honesty and trust towards me."
With that, the five other men bowed once to show their respect towards me and walked out of the meeting hall quietly. Once they were gone, the feisty Reiss could not help it anymore so he was the first one to question my response, "What do you mean by "seriously consider"? Isn't that just a delayed "Yes" if we are trying to be honest here?"
I looked at Reiss and simply have him a meaningful smile, not looking too happy but also not sad at all. Makisig then answered on my behalf, "We all joined this whole family setup knowing that this time will eventually come so what are you complaining about? We were all given information about her mission and this will happen since she has to make sure that the mystique races won't all die out. We are already lucky that she doesn't just sow her seeds recklessly to just anyone."
Vaelion replied in quite a mean tone that I rarely hear him use, "I agree to everything that Makisig said. What if she says "Yes" to those men eventually? It is not like she forced them. Can't you just be happy that we were lucky enough that she did not leave us pregnant and having to fend off for ourselves? Didn't we all feel that she saved us too one or another just like how those men feel? Aren't those feelings the reason why we are pregnant with her children now? What is the difference between them and us then?"
Reiss looked at the two men that did not back him up this time and clicked his tongue in annoyance. He then looked at me for a few seconds then looked away like a kid on a tantrum. I know that they were about to fight but in the end, I ended up chucking instead which made Reiss even more annoyed.
Since all the people we need to meet have left, the four of us also left the meeting hall and walked leisurely around the sanctuary for about half an hour then went back to my villa towards the north. All along, I was thinking that I will surely need to put some more effort in the bedroom later tonight to calm this feisty one down.
Contrary to my expectations that me and Reiss will argue again once we are alone, he was quite submissive the whole. Gone was the feisty come backs and he even apologized for being feeling too jealous whenever other men approach me. It was so different and opposite of how he was this afternoon that I was doubting if another person was pretending to be him.
The rest of the night with Reiss was filled with calming him down, not because he was angry but because he was too apologetic and scared that he angered me which may result in him being kicked out from the family. I had to do my best to reassure him that it won't ever happen. Well once those issues were out of the way, we did turn my room into a mess with all those naughty activities we did. After we're done, he doesn't even have the capacity to think about anything else.
The next morning, it was breakfast cooking duty again for me. The trio were chatting like they didn't have that little spat yesterday. The pregnant husband are all full and in good moods which is I am very thankful for. It was the best way to start a new day which is also the day that they will be moving out of Marahuyo to the new home I prepared to them back in the world tree realm.
The trio have surprisingly have already finished packing so early in the morning. It seems that they finished the task while one of them were with me for the evenings. I kept all their luggage in my storage space so that they do not have to carry or pull anything. I sent a telepathic message to Laerad that the four new residents (Makisig, Dakila, Vaelion and Reiss) are all set to move to the separate realm I prepared for my husband and future children for their safety. I received a very curt response of "Sure" then complete silence afterwards.
I could only sigh at the fact that I have to tread very carefully in the turbulent waters of pregnant hormones messing up with my men's way of thinking and their emotions. Now, I think it was quite a blessing that not all of them are living under the same roof at least.
