Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

After the slight trouble I was in for bringing Marius into Marahuyo, my three husbands have finally let me go after two hours. As for my promise to the cunning merfolk, I had to keep it so I met him before I leave the territory. I teleported back to the plaza to look for him then asked around if anybody saw where he have gone. One of the citizenstold me that he went towards the direction of the river.

I walked towards that direction and as expected, I saw him starting the construction of his new home by the river. He has already marked the borders of his property as of now. For some reason, the land area was quite huge if you think that only one person will be living in it. It was as big as the combined area of 2 duplexes I built in the inner area of the territory.

I called out his name and couldn't help but ask, "Marius, I am back. Wow! The place you picked is so wide. Are you planning to build a palace?"

He immediately turned around to face me and smiled. He answered happily, "I am planning to bring my trusted friends here in the future so I am building this home for all of us. I don't have that much to do anyways besides taking care of the river and fish here. I definitely have all the time to build a palace."

I looked and walked around by the edge of the river and gave extra instructions for him to dig up and widen the river if he's bored and also make a number of mini-ponds next to the river. One can be used by him and his people to soak and bathe in the future since they love the water. While the others can be used as nursery for fingerlings and smaller fish.

I have said a lot of things but noticed that he has been too quiet. I turned towards his direction but when I looked at his face I saw him looking at me with wide eyes and a red face. I furrowed my eyebrows and asked, "Are you okay? Did I say anything to make you angry? Your face is so red."

He shook his head and just said, "Sure. I will dig some smaller ponds and I'll widen the river. I was just surprised when you said the phrase "nursery for fingerlings". I just misunderstood the context. That's all. Nothing to worry about."

I smiled at him and asked, "May I know in what way you misunderstood it? I just asked for ponds to make sure that the baby fish will grow up well before they are released into the river. This is another source of food for this sanctuary."

He nodded his head and looked away. He then answered dismissively, "It was nothing. I understand what the ponds will be used for and the thing about food resources."

For someone who can fight with my three jealous men and win marvelously, I never thought that something will even make him stammer or speechless. I smirked and asked teasingly, "Did you just think about filling up a nursery of baby fish born between you and me?"

He stopped digging on the ground and turned stiffly towards my direction. His mouth opened and closed several time as if he wants to say something to defend himself but he couldn't think of anything.

I chuckled and teased him again, "Just say something back will you? I am not used to you not having a clap back. Stop opening and closing your mouth like that. I couldn't help but imagine you in fish form if you do that with your mouth."

The blush on his face started to deepen and reach even his neck. He then responded defensively using an embarrassed and irritated tone, "Don't talk about making baby fish with me if you are not going to go through with it! Don't lead me on! Pervert!"

I smiled at him naughtily and said, "You were so brave when you were taunting those three a while ago but now you are blushing like this. I did not know you were the shy type. You were the one thinking in that direction so why am I the perverted one here?"

He looked at me as if he was aggrieved and said, "Fine! I know that you won't defend me against those three so I had to fight back to stop them from attacking me further. Don't change the issue here. You said those words on purpose to make me think in that direction."

I laughed out loud and responded, "I know you can defend yourself well so I did not think of helping you out. Would you believe me that if I defended you, we will be in more trouble? As for leading you in that direction, I don't know what you are talking about."

He looked stunned and then he nodded his head absentmindedly. He then responded, "Yeah, I guess I am the perverted one. You are right. If you defended me, they will really think I stole you though I haven't done anything. It doesn't mean I won't go through with it in the future though."

This guy is really hopelessly brave and funny. Did he just speak his mind out loud about his plans towards me?

I coughed to cut his train of thought and asked, "What do you mean that you have not done nothing yet but plan to do something in the future? You are really looking for trouble."

He smirked at me with all the shyness from before gone and responded, "Males, no matter which mystique race they belong to, have the freedom to chase any woman they are attracted to and deem worthy to have children with. If the women ends up leaving the others for the new male, it just proves the capabilities of that male. Males don't mind being only one of the many partners of a female so what seems to be their issue? They do not have the right to stop me if I want to seduce you."

I smiled and teased again, "Sooo... You have a plan to seduce me and you will do it so well that it will make me decide to leave the others. I see. I will bear that in mind and watch out. I am quite excited to see how you will do it."

He looked at me as if I said something offensive and said, "What do you mean you will watch out for it? Are you going to avoid me? You don't have to leave them for me even if I am this gorgeous."

I laughed at how he praised himself like it was nothing. I looked at him meaningfully and replied cryptically, "Why don't you try seducing me first to know if I will avoid you or not? You are not the only gorgeous person I know so don't be overconfident. Let's see by then if you can make me accept you." I then turned around and teleported back to the plaza.

When I reappeared in the plaza, the elder that manages the affairs of the cow beast men requested another meeting with the others. I nodded at him and asked him to follow me to the town hall. He turned around and signaled the other beast men to follow us.

Once in the town hall, I set up a soundproofing barrier again since this looks like an important discussion. One of the younger cow beast men immediately spoke, "I want to return to Lyartaim and then talk to some of my family members and friends. I want to convince them to leave that greedy and unjust place."

I looked at him for a few seconds but kept quiet. I admire his bravery but this plan doesn't seem to be thought out that well. I asked a clarifying question to see if there is more to this plan than just surrendering himself to the enemy willingly, "How will you convince them to let you inside Lyartaim when you have been kicked out before?"

He smiled and with conviction in his eyes, he said "I will tell them that I will be willing to go to the separate village afterwards as long as they let me talk to them for a few minutes. I am still a virgin so they will not decline my offer. I will sell well if they send me there."

I looked at him coldly since I did not like the way he thinks himself as some type of commodity that will sell well. I asked, "Do you have a plan on how you will get out of there? What if they decline and just bring you straight to the separate village without you having a chance to talk to your friends and relatives? Do you know that this plan is stupid?"

He looked at me with surprise then all of a sudden he started crying as if I cursed him. He then started reasoning out, "My people must be getting abused through overwork now that several sheep and cow families have left the territory. Some of the beast men in that separate village are suffering but we are here eating well and living comfortably. How can you stay calm if you were in my position?"

I looked at him and sighed. I started explaining, "My face is emotionless. That is a whole lot different from being calm. When I heard your stories, I was angry. When I found out that people are being abused and kept unwillingly in that separate village, I felt pity and a little panic for their sake. I am doing things in the background so we can rescue them as quickly and safely as possible. Be patient."
