Chapter 12: Chapter 12! Fighting the Tyrant

Hearing the gunshots, Jill, who hadn't felt any pain on her body for a long time, opened her eyes. When she saw Wesker fall to the ground, she turned her head in surprise and saw Shen Ye holding an M1911 pistol, its muzzle still smoking.

"I told you, for safety, I came very well prepared," Shen Ye casually explained, then took a few steps forward and pulled the trigger again at the fallen Wesker, emptying all the bullets in the magazine in one go.

He wasn't venting anger; he just wanted to see if he could kill him prematurely, though he knew the hope was slim because, in the plot, Wesker had already injected himself with the virus.

Sure enough, Wesker, who had been shot multiple times and even had a large hole in his head, didn't die. He struggled to get up and pressed the release button on the culture dish.

Inside the culture dish, the liquid rapidly receded.

The Tyrant immediately opened its eyes. It raised its left arm with a massive claw, easily shattered the reinforced glass of the culture dish, and strode out.

"Kill them," Wesker shouted with all his strength.

However, the T002 model Tyrant was still imperfect. Although it had some simple intelligence and comprehension, it wasn't under control and naturally couldn't distinguish between friend and foe.

So, its first action upon hearing the command was to pierce Wesker's body with its clawed left arm, lift him up for a glance, and then casually toss him aside.

Then it began to accelerate, charging towards Shen Ye and Jill.

The nearly three-meter-tall Tyrant was like a tank; everything in its path was unable to stop it, all being crushed to pieces.

Shen Ye frowned slightly. He thought, 'I should have known not to finish him off. It wasn't guaranteed to kill Wesker anyway, and it would have been better to save a few bullets for the Tyrant.'

But regret was useless; the Tyrant was already almost upon them. He threw away the empty pistol and ran to the side with Jill.

However, the Tyrant's physique was evident; one of its steps was equivalent to two of theirs. In just a few seconds, the Tyrant caught up to them, and they had no more room to retreat.

Shen Ye shielded Jill behind him, drew his military knife, and held it across his chest. He watched as the Tyrant raised its massive left hand high, and he swallowed hard.

"Damn it, I'll fight it. If Leon can do it, so can I," he thought to himself.

But just then, the laboratory door suddenly opened, and Barry walked in. He had Shen Ye and Jill's guns slung over him, and he held the massive Magnum revolver with both hands, aiming it at the Tyrant and pulling the trigger.

Blazing flames erupted from the muzzle, and several large-caliber millimeter pistol rounds accurately struck the back of the Tyrant's head.

Just like in the game, the power of this Magnum pistol was astonishing. These shots not only turned the back of the Tyrant's head into a bloody mess but also caused it to enter a brief state of rigidity.

Seizing this opportunity, Barry shouted, "Jill, come over here quickly!"

Jill gave Barry a deep look, grabbed Shen Ye's arm, and ran past the Tyrant.

"Jill, I'm sorry, I really didn't mean it. Wesker threatened me with my family."

Seeing the two approach, Barry handed them the guns and simultaneously offered an explanation.

"No, Barry, this isn't your fault, it's Wesker, it's all him..." Jill took the gun, speaking words of comfort to Barry, but before she could finish, Shen Ye suddenly embraced her and rolled on the ground, then she saw a computer fly over their heads.

However, while they dodged it, Barry wasn't so lucky. The instrument that Shen Ye and Jill avoided unfortunately hit him, knocking him unconscious instantly.

"Barry, damn it, Shen, let go of me!"

Breaking free from Shen Ye's embrace, Jill wanted to check on Barry, but now was clearly not the right time, because the Tyrant was charging again. She had no choice but to raise her gun and shoot.

But she found that her few shots only left a few bullet holes on the Tyrant's body and did not cause effective damage.

"Shoot its exposed heart, that's its weakness," Shen Ye knew the Tyrant's weakness, and without caring about being exposed, he quickly spoke up to warn her.

As an improved version of the prototype Tyrant, the T002 Tyrant was much more powerful than its predecessor, but the problem of its vital organ, the heart, being exposed still hadn't been resolved. Even though most of its heart was encased by its body, it was still its most vulnerable spot.

Jill was too tired to wonder why Shen Ye knew so much. She followed Shen Ye's advice and fired several shots at the Tyrant's exposed heart. The result was obvious: the Tyrant's speed slowed down, and its body swayed significantly, seemingly struggling in pain.

Seeing this, Shen Ye breathed a sigh of relief. Indeed, the way to eliminate fear was to have enough firepower.

However, the Tyrant T002's intelligence wasn't too low. After making a mistake once, it had already begun to try and use its enlarged left arm to shield its most vulnerable points: its heart and its head.

This action was incredibly effective. Rifle bullets found it difficult to penetrate the Tyrant's reinforced left arm, or rather, even penetrating the keratin layer on the claws of its left arm was somewhat challenging.

The situation immediately turned grim. Seeing the Tyrant closing in on them despite the firepower of their two rifles, Shen Ye decisively gave up on using his automatic rifle and switched to the shotgun Jill had found in the mansion.

There were still a few shells left in the shotgun. Shen Ye fired directly. Because he had replaced the buckshot with slugs beforehand, the effect of these shots was surprisingly good, leaving several fist-sized craters on the Tyrant's left arm.

But this still couldn't stop the Tyrant's advance; the distance between them continued to close, forcing the two to retreat while firing.

"Cover me, Jill," Shen Ye quickly emptied the magazine. He instinctively reached for his chest but found nothing. Only then did he remember that Barry had taken his gun and his ammunition belt at the same time, and it was still hanging on him; he hadn't given it to them when he gave them the rifles.

"Damn it..." Shen Ye couldn't help but curse, because due to their fighting and retreating, they were already far from Barry. Getting the ammunition back would require crossing past the Tyrant, which was extremely dangerous.

Watching the relentlessly approaching Tyrant, Shen Ye simply hardened his heart, shouted, "Jill, cover me!" and then charged forward.

Seeing Shen Ye charge out, Jill sped up her trigger pulls, but the limitation of the semi-automatic rifle was evident; even if Jill's finger blurred, she couldn't match the firepower of an automatic rifle.

Fortunately, after Shen Ye's gun went silent, the Tyrant defaulted to Jill, who was still firing, as the biggest threat. When Shen Ye ran past it, it didn't attack him, allowing him to successfully retrieve the shotgun shells.

But just as Shen Ye was frantically reloading the shotgun, Jill found herself in danger.

Although her background wasn't the best, she was surprisingly loyal when it came to friends. To cover Shen Ye, she had been retreating in a straight line and was quickly cornered by the Tyrant.

In a game, this wouldn't be a big deal; at worst, she'd take a couple of punches from the Tyrant, maybe clutch her side, and then take some medicine later to recover.

But this wasn't a game. With her physique, one punch from the Tyrant would either kill her or leave her half-dead.

Jill thought the same thing. Seeing the Tyrant closing in on her, she screamed in fright, "Shen, help me!"
