Chapter 606: Tame
Rain's ultimate goal was to test the technique on the dungeon, but he knew that patience and diligence in honing his skills would be crucial to making it work effectively.
Terra and Seara felt relieved 2-3; they saw Rain eating again, but soon they realized that they will have to walk in hell alongside him…
"You should skip this training for now since you are still breastfeeding," Rain said when he saw the look on Seara's face. "As for you, Terra, you will have a lot of fun seeing your defined muscles in a few days."
"I don't really want to see them that much, it was never my intention to get beefy," Terra said.
Before long, Rain made his warriors practice that technique and since they had done some training to control their anger with Limit Breaker, things worked relatively well… until some of them began to collapse without learning the technique. Rain quickly made them recover, and he felt like sighing. Stay tuned to empire
"I guess my guess wasn't completely right… some magic talent is required for this," Rain thought.
The desire for gluttony was necessary, but soon Rain realized that it wasn't enough. Those who learned the principles of the technique were the ones who learned magic boost faster than the others.
One week later, Rain was finally able to reach the second level of the technique and make it work even out of water. He was able to pull it off thanks to the fact that he could control his mind and replicate that state that he had been in once… Gluttony and the power of water magic had to be pretty high, maybe that was why some dragons mainly evolve when they are that old.
It didn't take long for Rain to realize how useful the technique was… he didn't have to eat as much as before, but he also could only make it work with some focus and by keeping his health, mana, and stamina not at the maximum.
"It seems that everyone is having a hard time learning the technique," Rain said while he was nursing Terra and reading some of the reports. "Some people learn it on water, in the open, when they are on the ground and even on hot days. It looks like their elemental abilities affect that."
Terra learned the first stage of the technique after one week, but she ended up feeling really bad for three days after. At least she felt that it was worth the hassle, but she didn't want to do anything like that ever again.
"... When are you going to put this technique to use on the dungeons?" Terra said after taking a deep breath.
"Only around one-fourth of the sixth floor is complete; the others are a bit behind compared to others," Rain said. "For that technique to work, we will have to put at least fifty people that can use that technique to counter the effects of the dungeon, and I think that the dungeon will eventually find a way to fight that as well. It is a very annoying spell, and its effects are that bothersome."
"Using so many people inside when they can't do much will be a problem, huh?" Terra said, and then she got up from the bed.
Rain had already managed to make that technique level up five times, and while he could control its pace to level up, it required an insanely high level of focus. It was better to let it level up naturally for now and try to learn new techniques.
"I also have to think of ways to counter them, considering that these techniques are the strongest ones of the elder dragons," Rain rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"I just hope that we will have time for that," Terra said.
"I was just hoping that you wouldn't raise that death flag…" Rain said and then sighed.
Terra went to eat something to feel better and then Rain went outside only to find Seara having a hard time calming down Sealyn on her arms. She was already six months old, and while she didn't cry as much as before, it was still hard to calm down without letting on water.
"Why don't you go to the tunnel?" Rain asked.
"I want her to get used to life outside, it will be troublesome if we let her there whenever she feels like it," Seara said. "I don't want her to spend most of her life in that city."
It seemed that Seara was also having some bad vibes from the underwater capital lately… Rain wondered if she also thought that someone from her family poisoned her father… In any case, Seara passed Sealyn to Rain and she calmed down almost immediately.
"What…" Seara said, showing a dejected expression.
"Kids feel things are pretty easy, you know," Rain said. "If you are angry, sad, anxious… they can feel all that and that bothers them."
"I am not angry or sad," Seara said.
"What about anxious?" Rain asked. "I will give you a shoulder massage later."
"I know what you really want when you say that," Seara raised her eyebrows.
"I am being serious… for a change," Rain shrugged. "Don't worry about things that much. Leave your future problems to the future you."
The High Human path leveled up.
You learned a new skill.
Tame (Level 05) - Tame allows you to connect with animals and other creatures on a profound level, forming deep bonds and gaining their trust and cooperation. The higher your dexterity, the higher the chances of taming a creature. The cost of mana increases according to the power of the creature.
Rain frowned when he saw that… while he had given some experience to that path lately with low-level skills, that path wasn't equipped… but Transcendental Youth was. Rain thought that only unknown paths could gain experience like that, but it seemed that his guess was wrong.
"This requires more testing," Rain thought while smirking. "Things are getting really interesting again."
