Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1373: Monster warehouse

While the enemies hesitated, Rain made his move… instead of teleporting, he summoned from his pocket dimension his prisoners to fight for him. The creatures looked around, confused as they began to fall, but soon they were attacked by the dark sentinels.

The prisoners felt their bodies being pulled away from the area by the gravity beam of the enemies while Rain disappeared. Some of them considered joining the enemy's side and then killing Rain and his allies, but soon, they realized that there was no negotiation with the sentinels.

In the next moment, some of the former lords decided that if they were going down, they might as well have some revenge while they were at it… revenge against the machine gods.

Magic chains erupted from the air and bound several of the dark sentinels, and using that chance, some of the former lords fired a barrage of dark projectiles at the enemies… the attacks didn't cause much damage, and so they understood that the reason for that was the fact that corrupt magic enhanced the power of the metal…

For a moment, the lords hesitated, but soon, the others who had just watched things until now fired a barrage of ice spears at the dark sentinels… not only did the attacks make the dark sentinels shake, but they also made the ice cover the enemy's bodies and hinder their movements… While it took a while, they also learned the tricks that Rain used against them to counter the power of the sins.

They actually were using the power of the virtues…

Rain, who had used his domain, water mirror technique, and the light touch to watch the battle before going to the next layer, couldn't help but frown while seeing that… he didn't see them trying to learn those effects, but since he shared his mana with them to become part of the paths system, perhaps that helped them.

The skill Pocket Dimension received 10.000 experience points.

The skill Spatial Manipulation received 10.000 experience points.

"The only downside is the fact that only those two techniques level up… the real technique isn't complete yet, so the system couldn't turn it into a real skill," Rain thought. "Come to think of it, my rain skill didn't become a part of the system either until now…"

That was a problem for later, too… As Rain transformed into a swirling vortex of darkness, he pierced through yet another layer of the enemy's base with his power. In his vortex form, he tore through barriers and defenses with ease, propelled by the power of his wrath that rendered everything he touched into nothing.

Before long, Rain reached the vast and foreboding space that he had sensed earlier. A space shrouded in impenetrable darkness. Yet, as he ventured deeper, a faint glimmer of light began to emerge, gradually illuminating the surroundings with an eerie glow.

The source of this newfound illumination became apparent as Rain's gaze fell upon giant capsules made of glass. Within these capsules lay countless deformed beasts, their twisted bodies emitting a dark, ominous glow of blue and green hues.

These creatures appeared to be imprisoned within the confines of the capsules, their forms contorted and writhing in silent agony within the murky depths of the space station.

The sight sent a chill down Rain's spine as he beheld the grotesque spectacle before him. At the same time, Elisabetha's anger began to increase… all of those creatures were first dragons… They probably failed since Rain couldn't sense much danger while looking at them. Still, in response to Elisabetha's fury, the monsters began to awaken.

Rain looked around once again and saw a sea of those capsules… he thought that he could get some information about that base since it had been around for so long, but it looked like it was truly only a military base.

"Wait a minute…" Rain thought. "I can use this…"

The monsters began to free themselves from the giant capsules and soon looked at Rain. Some of them began to fly around him while he just looked at them. The flying monsters, which looked like giant dragonflies and butterflies, began to stir within their glass capsules as Rain's presence disturbed them.

With each flutter of their wings, they emitted a dark, powdery dust that hung heavy in the air, casting a suffocating dampness over the surroundings.

As the creatures awakened from their dormant state, their movements became more frenzied, their wings beating with increasing urgency. The dark dust they emitted permeated the air, enveloping the space station in an oppressive atmosphere that weighed heavily on Rain's senses.

The combination of their eerie appearance and the ominous aura emanating from their wings created an unsettling aura within the space station. Rain couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as he observed the creatures' awakening, yet… he couldn't do anything for now.

"What are you doing? Kill them all!" Elisabetha shouted. "We need to use this chance to weaken their numbers and improve your dragon slayer path!"

Rain began to feel Elisabetha's rage growing and almost forcing his body to move, but he ignored that until the monsters on the ground began to make their move as well. Some horned monsters began to harness dark energy on their horns and then fired them like magic cannons.

With swift reflexes, Rain teleported away from the approaching attacks, narrowly avoiding the onslaught of magic cannons fired by the horned monsters. Despite the urgency of the situation, he remained focused, carefully observing the properties of the magic cannons as they hurtled through the air.

As he stayed close to the monsters, Rain noticed a distinct pattern emerging. Each magic cannon displayed properties of fire, ice, and lightning, imbued with the corrupt energy that enhanced their destructive capabilities.

The flames danced with an intense heat, the ice crackled with bitter cold, and the lightning crackled with powerful energy, each element infused with a dark power that lent them an ominous aura.
