Chapter 1372: Dark sentinels
Rain teleported to the base of the space station, and he soon saw the surroundings opening… the ground was spitting into several parts, and then the sounds of engines began to echo in the area.
As Rain surveyed the surface of the space station, he initially found it devoid of any visible structures or personnel. However, his watch was abruptly interrupted as massive, quadrangular robots began to emerge from the ground with a formidable presence. Towering in stature and exuding an aura of power and endurance, these dark behemoths rose from hidden compartments beneath the surface.
Each robot bore a sleek and imposing design, their angular forms suggesting a blend of technological sophistication and raw strength. Despite their appearance, they moved with surprising agility, their movements fluid and precise as they positioned themselves to confront Rain and his allies.
As they emerged from the depths of the ground, the robots cast imposing silhouettes against the backdrop of the space station, their metallic frames gleaming ominously under the harsh glare of artificial light, ready to destroy the invaders…
Before long, the enemies pointed their hands at Rain and then fired a blast of invisible energy… he used Teleport to escape, but the metallic ground began to sink thanks to it.
"Was that a gravity attack?" Rain thought when he appeared one hundred meters away from the spot.
More and more enemies kept emerging from the underground… against that kind of attack. The Warriors didn't have any experience dealing with it, but in the end, they had to gain experience in one way or the other.
"... Your turn," Rain said.
Iori understood the message and soon let go of everyone in his pocket dimension. The surroundings were quickly filled with the warriors that charged toward the giant robots without hesitation.
The enemies used their magic, and while they worked on many warriors, they only fell on the ground and were forced to stand still for a couple of seconds, and soon the spell was undone.
Even before the spell was undone, someone passed through three of those giant robots and made them fall apart in a single strike… he kept moving from one side to the other and swung his old and reliable spear and completely obliterated the center of the dark robots… that was Seadrei.
"I guess everyone will be fine as long as he is here…" Rain thought.
In the end, Rain disappeared from the area and then went to look for the commanding office of the space station. The layout of that base was different from all the others, so Rain didn't have to just dig to find it. The place didn't even have buildings at the top of the surface… the surface was basically a thick armor that protected the real thing.
"... Give me a break," Rain thought.
Rain infused his ominous sword with crackling lightning magic. With a swift and decisive strike, he brought the electrified blade down upon the ground, sending sparks flying as the lightning surged through the earth.
Simultaneously, Rain activated his Psycometry skill, delving into the depths of the space station's structure with meticulous precision. As his mind penetrated the layers of the base, he found a complex network of compartments and pathways, each layer housing the formidable dark giant robots that emerged to defend the stronghold.
However, amidst the labyrinthine layout of the station, Rain's keen analysis revealed a significant discovery—a vast compartment lying empty beneath the surface. This sizable void stood out amidst the bustling activity of the station, suggesting a potential area of interest that warranted further investigation.
Despite his thorough examination, Rain found no traces of a commanding officer or any indication of the presence of a relic within the confines of the base. It seemed that the enemies had moved the relic out of that place… it was bothersome, but it was something that he had expected.
In the end, Rain began to spin and used the ominous sword to dig the space station's surface. Soon, he found a bunch of the dark giant robots moving to face him and then pointed their hands toward him.
Before long, Rain began to feel a powerful force pushing him in the opposite direction, but soon he used Teleport and reached the base of that floor of enemies and then began to dig again… only to be almost stopped by dark robots turning around.
"Come," Rain said. "Buy me some time."
In the next moment, Loar appeared out of Rain's pocket dimension and then turned into a sphere of light that began to attack the giant dark robots. The sound of quick and extremely heavy attacks began to echo in the area and soon enough, the sound of the dark robots falling apart began to spread around while Rain was passing through the next line of defense of the enemies.
The skill Pocket Dimension received 10.000 experience points.
The skill Spatial Manipulation received 10.000 experience points.
"They are alive, huh…" Rain thought. "I didn't notice it."
Rain contemplated the implications of granting Loar the opportunity to return to life using his secret technique. In doing so, he understood that Loar would effectively become akin to a familiar, serving as a loyal companion in battle and aiding him in like that.
Furthermore, Rain recognized that by empowering Loar to actively participate in combat, he would not only enhance their chances of success but also provide Loar with the opportunity to gain invaluable experience. This acknowledgment brought a sense of satisfaction to Rain, as he realized that his actions were not only benefiting himself but also contributing to the growth of his new ally.
Rain wondered what parts of those monsters were alive, but soon, he reached another layer of the warehouse that stored those dark giant robots, and they looked like an endless sea before him and an impenetrable wall as well. The enemies pointed their hands at him, but they didn't use their gravity beam since they knew that Rain could teleport.
