Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1371: The next target

As Rain thought deeper into his analysis, he recognized the importance of the situation unfolding before him. The dragon god's influence, while potentially dangerous, also presented a unique opportunity. While they were enemies, Rain discerned that their goals aligned, albeit indirectly…

The dragon god's plan to utilize Rain and his group as a diversion signaled a potential avenue for strategic move. By leveraging this mutual interest, Rain could manipulate the situation to their advantage. Rather than merely being pawns in the dragon god's machinations, they could turn the tables and utilize the dragon god as a means to navigate the challenges within the enemy's territory.

"It would be easier to make our moves and plan then if I could use Remote Viewing to check the dragon god, but I doubt that the skill can reach such high levels," Rain thought. "Even with my high Intelligence, I can only see some areas that I have been and from those places onward… I can't check areas by searching for people."

While Rain was thinking about that, he realized that it was time to move on, so soon he teleported to the next zone… in essence, all the parts of the prison had been abandoned, and all of their mana had been taken over.

After a couple of hours, they passed the area of the prison and arrived at a new planet. This one has a light blue sky as well… the weather, the gravity, the wind. All of them seemed good enough to sustain life, so Rain felt bad since he decided to use that planet later.

"I will bear the burden of this sin…" Rain thought. "For now, I should just memorize the image of this planet to move to this place as soon as possible."

After crossing a multitude of planets over the course of half a day, Rain's anticipation grew as he sensed their imminent arrival at their destination. With each passing moment, the sense of urgency increased, propelling them closer to another climax of their journey.

Utilizing his Telepathy skill, Rain reached out to check on the status of his friends. Through this skill, he confirmed that they were prepared for action and eager to unleash the full extent of their power. Their collective determination and readiness bolstered Rain's confidence as they approached the next important moment that was ahead.

"Something is off… usually, my spidey senses would be off the charts in a situation like this, but…" Rain thought.

Maybe it was because he had made some nice discoveries lately, and Rain's senses were a bit dull. Nevertheless, there was no point in delaying that further… Once the others gave Rain the green light, he teleported to the enemy's base.

Rain had heard things about that from Sakaki, but he still was caught off guard when he saw it… the enemy's base was a bit different than all the others… It was a space station.

The enemy's space station was before Rain, a colossal structure comparable in size to a small moon. Its imposing presence dominated the surrounding space, casting a shadow over the nearby celestial bodies. This impressive stronghold served as a pivotal hub, functioning as a Safelite to surveil and monitor a bunch of planets within its reach.

As Rain materialized in space approximately one hundred kilometers away from the base, he saw the sight of the vast network of interconnected green planets. Linked by an intricate system of colossal metal tubes, these celestial bodies formed a sprawling network, all under the watchful gaze of the imposing space station.

The sheer scale of such an operation left Rain in awe as he grasped the magnitude of the enemy's reach and influence.

While those planets seemed full of life, Rain could see in the distance a bunch of debris and sand floating around. They looked lifeless and completely useless as well. Their amount was insane…

"It looks like a sea of dust in space… that is what is left behind when all the resources of the world are completely used up to build a space station, huh?" Rain thought.

Actually, those were only the remains that were taken away by the planet… the space station was actually something like an exoskeleton to the real planet… and only the nucleus was left behind intact, and it was being used as an energy source for the space station.

"You will be found as soon as you land there," Elisabetha said. "Actually, we can't even say if you can teleport to the interior without destroying the first layer of the place."

"It is fine either way. The preparations are over," Rain said.

Rain tried to teleport to the interior of the space station, but the spell didn't work… As expected, the place was made in a way that prevented space magic. It looked like the enemies also knew how to use space magic, but that wasn't surprising at all.

When Rain approached the space station, he saw a barrier that was similar to the ones that he saw protecting the zones of the prison and preventing people from coming and going, so that confirmed that a machine god was keeping that place up and running.

"It is better if I cause as much damage as possible here," Rain thought.

Rain summoned a colossal hammer forged from dark ice, its weight and power evident in every inch of its construction. With a swift motion, he imbued his arms with the Light Speed skill, enhancing his striking speed to unimaginable levels.

As the hammer made contact with the barrier encasing the space station, a resounding crack echoed through the void, akin to glass shattering under immense pressure.

The barrier, once impervious and imposing, now bore the unmistakable signs of vulnerability, its surface marred by the force of Rain's assault. In a mesmerizing display, the once serene blue glow emanating from the barrier transformed into a frenetic dance of crimson hues, pulsating with an intensity that reverberated throughout the surrounding expanse.

The red light flickered erratically, tracing erratic patterns as if struggling to contain the unleashed power coursing through its confines.
