Chapter 12: Chapter 12

One hour later.

"Boss, th-that new guy, he..."

"Don't be so impatient. In our line of work, you have to be steady, as solid as a big rock. Only then can you ensure safety."

The boss first lectured his overly anxious worker before continuing, "The new guy couldn't handle it and left, right? I figured that would happen."

"No, no, the new guy..."

"What?! The new guy tried to act tough and got injured?! Hurry, call a doctor!"

"That's right. The new guy doesn't seem to have much money, so we'll cover the medical expenses for now. We can't let anything bad happen."

Seeing his worker's anxious expression, the boss immediately thought something bad had happened. Did the worst really happen?!

"No, no, you..."

"Stop stuttering! Just tell me what happened already!"

The boss was getting impatient, urging the worker to speak clearly.

"You keep interrupting me! I've tried telling you several times, but you keep cutting me off!"

"The new guy is fine; he didn't leave. In fact, he did an amazing job! He completed half a day's work in just one hour!"

The worker shouted loudly.

"What?! Are you serious?"

The boss looked utterly stunned, his mouth hanging open. That was work that usually required dozens of people to finish in half a day.

Originally, it was estimated to take more than ten people a day or two to complete.

"It's true!"

"At first, the kid just kept making trips back and forth, each time carrying enough bricks for about ten people. From the fifth trip on, he was moving the load of fifteen people at once."

"Not only was he moving a lot, but he was doing it at incredible speed! And the craziest part? Watching him work motivated everyone else."

"Everyone started competing, 'You move one load, I'll move two.' With that kind of rivalry, the work was finished in no time!"

The worker was just as excited. The efficiency was simply unbelievable.

"That's amazing! Come on, let's go check it out."

The boss, along with the worker, hurried to the worksite. When they arrived, they saw a group of workers gathered around, resting and chatting.

"That Kei kid is amazing!"

"He's got the strength of an ox!"

"He may not look huge, but beneath those clothes, he's all lean muscle!"

"When the work's done, we should treat him to some drinks."

The workers chatted excitedly. The boss looked around but couldn't find Kei anywhere, so he walked over, puzzled.

"Where's the new guy?"

"Boss, are you talking about Kei? After finishing the work here, he went to do some farming over there. That guy's energy is endless!"

"Farming?! So he's doing two jobs at once?"

The boss was shocked once again. Just as he was feeling surprised, another worker came running over from the farming group.

"B-Boss!"

"Did something happen with you guys too?"

"Y-Yes!"

"Does it have something to do with the new guy?"

"Yes, yes!"

"What did he do?!"

"We're done with all the work!"

"You finished today's work already?!"

The boss's face was filled with disbelief. Two tasks, both completed ahead of schedule—this kid was insanely strong!

"Not just today's work. All of the work is done!"

The worker dropped an even more shocking revelation.

"Impossible. That was supposed to take more than ten people at least ten days to finish!"

The boss instinctively denied the claim.

"He's too efficient. He uses two hoes, one in each hand, with some sort of special magic to hold two more, working with a total of four hoes!"

"When he works, it's like flashes of lightning. Whether it's soil or stones, one swing and everything gets flipped over and leveled out!"

The worker explained.

"Quick, quick! Let's go check it out!"

The boss hurriedly ran to the farmland. When they got there, they saw Kei plastering a wall.

"First, splash it on, then use the ripple technique to smooth it out!"

Kei threw the plaster onto the wall, then used the vibrating properties of his ripple technique to perfectly level the surface.

Not only was this method much faster, but it was also far more even compared to doing it by hand, which would require constant adjustments.

"Amazing! Absolutely amazing!"

The boss was in awe of Kei's technique. At that moment, he understood why the previous tasks had been completed so quickly.

This guy was practically a construction prodigy!

"Hey, new guy! You're officially hired."

"And I'll pay you five times the regular wage! The task has a ten-day deadline, and for every day you finish early, I'll double your pay!"

The boss shouted from below.

"Leave it to me!"

Kei shouted back.

[After working diligently for three days, you successfully completed the task. Since you finished the construction mission seven days early,]

[The boss increased your pay from the original five times the regular wage to twelve times. You earned a total of 240,000 Eris!]

[Additionally, the boss was greatly impressed by your outstanding performance and wanted to hire you as a permanent employee.]

[Since you still had your mission to save the world on your mind, you politely declined the boss's offer. After a celebratory banquet that night, you parted ways.]

[The next day, you went to the Adventurer's Guild. After paying the registration fee, you successfully registered as an adventurer.]

"Wow! Apart from your magical power being nearly zero, all your other stats are incredibly high!"

Luna looked at Kei's adventurer card and exclaimed in amazement.

Due to the 'Magic Insulator' talent, Kei's magical power was practically zero, but his other attributes, especially physical and mental, were exceptionally high.

"Mr. Kei, right?"

"Congratulations on becoming a member of the Adventurer's Guild. We look forward to seeing you achieve extraordinary feats."

Miss Luna stood up and spoke in a tone filled with admiration.

The other staff members gathered around and congratulated him in the same manner. This was one of the guild's traditions.

When a talented or powerful adventurer registered, they would receive such a warm welcome, along with additional attention in the future.

Of course, ordinary adventurers would never receive such treatment. If you're weak, how can you expect special treatment?

"Hahahaha! This feels amazing!"

Kei felt absolutely great about the ceremony. Seeing the admiring and envious expressions of everyone in the guild made him feel incredibly satisfied.

After all, what was the point of getting stronger if not to enjoy such moments? If there was no enjoyment, then what was the point of all that effort?!

[Under the admiration of the crowd, you chose the 'Sword Saint' class. You used your skill points to max out Swordsmanship, Sword Aura, and Blink.]

[You accepted the quest to hunt Giant Frogs and began your mission.]

"My hands are my swords! This is the supreme realm of the Sword Saint!"

Kei's hands were wrapped in ripples, sharpened to the extreme. Whatever they touched, even steel, would be cleanly cut through.
