"Ah, well…" Brock smiled wryly. He hadn't expected the first thing they talked about upon meeting again would be who looked older! However, he knew Ethan was joking, a way to build rapport, so he spread his hands. "Perhaps it's because I have nine younger siblings to take care of, so I'm simply overworked."

"By the way," Ash asked, "do you want to come with us to the port now?"

Ethan asked, puzzled, "What are you going to the port for?"

"Earlier in the city center, someone gave us a ticket for a luxury cruise ship," Misty explained. "The person who gave us the tickets said that a grand Trainer banquet was going to be held there, organized by a major conglomerate. Many people would attend, it would be a lot of fun, and everything was free!"

"Something that good?" Ethan frowned. "Doesn't that sound a bit like a scam?"

Seeing Ethan's disbelief, Ash pulled out a ticket from his pocket.

"It's real! Look, this is the cruise ship ticket. And we just saw many people already rushing to the port on our way here."

"Even so…" Ethan looked at the ticket and couldn't help but ask, "But there's only one ticket. How do you three plan to get on?"

Ash opened the ticket, showing Ethan the words 'Group Ticket' on it.

"Hehe, it's a group ticket! As many people as you want can go. If you want to come too, just walk with us."

Ethan carefully examined the ticket. On its front, there was a picture of a luxurious cruise ship, and beside it, a large name—S.S. Anne.

The S.S. Anne? Ethan paused. Isn't that the famous shipwreck from the anime!?

Unaware of Ethan's hesitation, Ash continued excitedly, "Battling and interacting with Trainers from different places, and seeing many Pokémon I've never seen before—it's awesome!"

"Exactly, exactly!" Brock nodded in agreement, his mind wandering. "And there's definitely lots of delicious food and beautiful older sisters!"

Even Misty's eyes gleamed with longing. "A leisurely boat trip, sunbathing on the deck… it sounds so exciting!"

While the three of them fantasized, Ethan's mind was preoccupied with another question. If he remembered correctly, shortly after the S.S. Anne set sail, it was attacked by Team Rocket and encountered a storm, eventually sinking to the bottom of the ocean under the crushing waves. Such an expensive cruise ship, just sinking like that, the property loss alone must have been at least several billion…

However, Ethan quickly reconsidered. Even if he tried to warn them in advance out of good intentions, it probably wouldn't change its fate. Since Team Rocket could infiltrate the S.S. Anne, they must have made thorough preparations. Without evidence, a rash intervention wouldn't get the captain's attention. Instead, it would alert Team Rocket, and if too obvious, it might even attract the attention of the banquet's organizer, Team Rocket's hidden boss, Giovanni!

As for the storm… Ethan didn't know much about maritime affairs, but for such a large cruise ship to set sail, they would surely check relevant weather information beforehand. Since the captain allowed it to sail, that meant either Team Rocket suddenly altered the ship's course, or the massive storm capable of capsizing the cruise ship formed abruptly!

"Huh? Ethan, what are you thinking about?" Misty saw Ethan silent for a long time and couldn't help but ask, "So, are you coming with us?"

Ethan nodded, "Of course I'm coming. I was just thinking of checking it out myself."

The group arrived at the port of Vermilion City. As soon as they stepped in, they saw many ships of varying sizes docked along the coast. But among them, the largest and most luxurious was undoubtedly the S.S. Anne. Its height, spanning over a dozen decks, made this behemoth the undisputed dazzling presence of the port.

The S.S. Anne was a world-renowned luxury cruise ship. It was said to dock in Vermilion City once a year before sailing to other places for its world tour. As Ash had just said, there were indeed many Trainers with their Pokémon at the pier, getting their tickets checked and boarding. And the closer they got, the more impressive the cruise ship appeared.

"Wow, it's so big!" Misty looked up, exclaiming, "Are we really going out to sea on this ship?"

However, just as Ash and the others were about to board, Ethan stopped them first.

"Wait a moment. I'll just buy some things first."

Saying that, he walked to a nearby diving supply store. After much deliberation, he bought a pair of diving goggles and a simple rebreather.

So expensive… After buying these two items, only a little less than half of the savings he had accumulated from his part-time jobs remained.

Seeing Ethan pay and solemnly put the items into his backpack, Ash asked curiously, "What are you buying those things for?"

"I'm not very good at swimming. These things might come in handy sometime."

Ethan chose not to tell Ash and the others the truth. After all, it was something that hadn't happened yet, and for various reasons, these few individuals were blessed with incredible luck and always managed to turn danger into safety. Even if the S.S. Anne truly sank, they would surely find a way to escape.

Queuing, ticket checking, boarding.

As Ethan and the others ascended the gangplank, they passed through the deck and arrived in a magnificent grand hall. The hall was tall and wide, with an immense space. Bathed in golden decorations and the light from countless crystal chandeliers, it was already filled with various tourists. Long tables were set up on the red carpet, laden with abundant food, ready for people to sample.

Ethan walked into the crowd, looking around. Whether acquaintances or newly met, people were enthusiastically chatting with each other, sharing interesting travel stories, and discussing their Pokémon. Everyone's faces were beaming with smiles; they seemed very pleased with this cruise ship.

On both sides of the hall, there were also vendors selling various goods. From small earrings and studs to figures, and large Pokémon plushies, everything imaginable was available. The sounds of conversation, hawking, and bargaining filled the air, making it exceptionally lively.

But what drew the most attention was undoubtedly the Pokémon battle currently being held in the center of the hall, surrounded by layers of onlookers. This battle was organized by the travelers themselves. The two Trainers were a middle-aged man in a suit and a young boy in a green shirt. Their Pokémon were a Rattata battling a Starmie.

Ethan is on board the infamous S.S. Anne! He seems to be well aware of the impending doom of the ship and has even prepared for it by buying diving gear. The atmosphere on board is lively with Trainers and battles.

What do you think will happen next on the S.S. Anne? Will Ethan's preparations prove useful, and will Team Rocket make their move soon?
