I Kill to Get All SSS Abilities: From Outcast to Awakened

Chapter 103: One Hour Later

The twirling wind strikes shot towards Lukas.

He conjured up an ice wall, but it was not enough to withstand the wind strikes.

Crack.

They ripped through the ice wall, sending shards of ice flying in all directions.

Lukas leaped to the side and unleashed two lightning strikes at one of the wind apes.

His sudden appearance from behind the ice wall caught the wind apes by surprise.

Wham.

The lightning strikes hit in an instant, and the wind ape could only thrash its arms around, trying to alleviate the pain.

Its head was now charred and the skin and flesh splattered onto the ground.

Whoosh.

The struggling wind ape sent out wind blades from its hands as its arms swung around.

Some of the wind blades shot at the wind ape standing beside it.

Roar.

The wind ape gave out a roar in anger.

It covered its body from the wind blades with its forearms crossed in front of it.

A smudge of blood seeped out of its forearm, making its white fur turn red.

Plop.

The wind ape hit by the lightning strike fell onto the ice surface and lay motionless.

When the remaining wind ape lowered its forearms to see what was happening and could make its next move, it saw a fist coming at it.

Lukas had lunged at it and punched at its head.

Splatter.

His fist hit the face of the wind ape.

Chunks of flesh and blood splattered all over.

The wind ape shook its head vigorously, trying to retain consciousness.

Flickers of bright light then appeared on Lukas's hands as he placed them in front of the wind ape's face.

Wham!

This time when the lightning strike hit, the head of the wind ape exploded from the impact at close range.

The headless body of the wind ape stopped moving and it fell back onto the ice surface.

A familiar sound erupted in Lukas's mind.

[Ding!]

[Slaughter Points +2000]

[Current Slaughter Points: 5700/20000]

[Host Level: 5]

[Current Abilities: 5]

With the gaining of the Slaughter Points, Lukas could feel the surge of energy coming into his body.

Replenishing what he had exhausted.

"Everyone all right?" He turned around and asked as he harvested the demonic beast cores from the wind apes' body.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, except for Dr. Uwe who wasn't doing so well with the cold.

As a normal person, his tolerance to the cold wasn't as high as awakened ones like Lukas and the other team members.

"Rex, let's try to get the armored van upright again. It would be better for Dr. Uwe with the heater inside," Lukas said and Rex nodded his head.

They walked over to the armored van, grabbed onto the edge of the armored van, and lifted it up.

It was relatively easy for Lukas, but Rex had to grit his teeth and use all the strength he had.

"Ready? On the count of three," Lukas said and Rex, whose face was now red, nodded.

"One, two, three..."

At the count of three, they pushed the armored van up and forward.

The armored van tilted to the side and became upright.

Harianto got into the driver's seat and checked.

Vroom.

The engine roared as he stepped on the pedal.

"Hop on, we have a plane to catch," Harianto said.

Lukas and the rest got into the armored van.

The heater in the armored van kicked in and it felt comfortable.

Dr. Uwe who was shivering out in the cold stopped shivering.

"How much time do we have left?" Riley asked.

"One hour has passed, we have three hours left.

"And we are in the amber area where the Mid-Tiered demonic beasts roam, we should be getting to the red area soon," Lukas replied.

"Then we better hurry," Riley said as he looked up into the sky.

The sun was setting, and it was getting darker.

Harianto started the engine and this time he drove very slowly.

The subsequent journey on the ice surface was relatively uneventful, except for a few skids here and there.

But Harianto managed to handle it well and the armored car went along its way.

"What's that?" Harianto asked as he slowed the armored van.

They had gotten through the ice surface and in front of him was what looked like a valley.

And there were piles of bones lying around.

"Stop. I think it's best if we check out what's ahead," Lukas said.

The piles of bones might be the leftovers from demonic beasts lurking around the area.

And if they got into the valley, it might not be so easy to get out.

"Rex and Emma, go with Lukas," Riley thought for a moment and said.

The rest would stay with Dr. Uwe for his safety.

When required they could also back up Lukas, Rex and Emma.

The engine went dead. And there was nothing but the wind howling out from the valley.

Lukas, Rex and Emma got out of the van.

They walked slowly towards the valley with Lukas taking the lead.

Rex and Emma walked by his left and right sides twenty feet apart.

When he got near, Lukas stopped and inspected the bones that were on the ground.

Some were bones from Fire Deer and bones from even Wind Apes.

He figured that whoever had dumped these bones in the vicinity must have been more powerful than the wind apes.

Crack.

Suddenly, he heard a faint crack sound, inaudible among the howling wind to a normal person.

Lukas was able to hear it with his enhanced hearing from his SSS Level Physique.

He raised his hand to signal for Rex and Emma to stop.

They did so and got ready.

Lukas glanced over in the direction from where the crack sound came.

What looked like a small hill, twice as tall as Lukas, had two orange glowing dots.

He narrowed his eyes and focused on it.

Slowly, it became clearer for him.

Within the orange glow was a slit.

Lukas then realized what it was: eyes of a demonic beast.

Slither.

A forked tongue slithered out of the small hill and the small hill rose higher.

It was a huge snake, and its head turned and looked at Lukas.

The next moment, the huge snake opened its mouth and lunged at Lukas.
