Chapter 304: Transformation of Sovereign's Cloak
At that moment, Eryndor barely had any thoughts in his mind apart from entering the Mind Palace.
In his haste and excitement, he even failed to enter his own Mind Palace due to his focus getting disrupted from the sheer amount of anticipation.
Calm down Eryndor.
Calm down.
Eryndor opened his eyes, still in his physical form, and patted his cheek, which had taken a faint shape of a grin.
It took him a few moments to calm down before he could finally enter the Mind Palace.
Needless to say, he immediately made a run for the first room.
I was correct.
He gazed at the shining walls of the room.
Golden runes covered nearly every inch of the wall, shining brightly as the observer felt like they were swimming around.
They mixed, separated, transformed, glowed, and whatnot.
One might even think they were alive. There was simply that many 'liveliness' in their actions.
Eryndor watched in awe as the golden runes converged to form a golden pattern in the right corner of the room.
He couldn't really describe the shape, except just glancing at it made his heart feel awe. It felt majestic.
His eyes shined, taking in the entire proceeding as the golden runes kept going through various forms and phases.
Soon, a second golden pattern formed in the middle portion of the wall.
From the size of the first pattern itself, Eryndor knew that there would be three golden patterns in total.
Eryndor had a faint guess regarding what these golden patterns were, what they represented, but he couldn't be too sure.
More like, he didn't want to get his hopes up by even daring to think about such a good thing.
The final golden pattern took a bit more time compared to the first two, but it was completed as well.
Eryndor compared all three patterns, and realized that they looked different.
Their core part had some similarities, but the farther away you went from the center, the more differences there were between the three golden patterns.
Finally, when the third golden pattern was fully formed, their shining intensified.
Goddamn shit, do I have to close my eyes again?
Eryndor was truly truly truly tired about it.
I have zero fucking idea why everything needs to shine as much.
Next time I'm going to look up some soul cultivation art if there exists any, preferably one that strengthens the eye.
I might as well look for a physical cultivation art for the eye since I am going for it.
However, what happened everytime didn't happen this time.
The brightness didn't increase to a ridiculous degree, forcing him to close his eyes.
At some point, the climbing shine halted.
Then, bit by bit, the three golden patterns began protruding.
It was as if they were detaching themselves from the walls.
The process was slow, so slow that Eryndor considered going out in his physical form.
And he did.
He returned to his physical body, and immediately used Spatial Sight to get a grasp on his situation.
Still the same.
There were the usual two to three disciples in his range, and their same actions, which was to prod at things, hoping an exit would reveal itself.
There was also a possibility that they might be searching for something like a shield.
I can guess why they would think of that.
They entered by breaking an invisible shield. What if the exit is also behind a similar shield?
Then they would have to poke at each and everything.
From the looks of it, no one back then had been able to see the true form of the invisible shield with their surveillance, or probing cultivation art as well.
Eryndor monitored the situation for a minute or two, with his fingers on his chin as he continued thinking of different ways to leave.
He was trapped here as well after all.
But after not thinking about any plan which was even remotely plausible, and confirming that there was no change to the current situation, he entered the Mind Palace again.
Might as well look at those golden patterns.
This time, Eryndor took the time to glance at other parts of his Mind Palace.
Well, nothing has changed.
He then walked over to the second room, where he tried to push its door open, but he was unsuccessful.
Finally, he entered the first room, his gaze attracted to the golden patterns on the wall which had detached a lot compared to before.
A few moments later, the one on the right completely broke free, shimmering faintly in the air for a second before heading towards the Sovereign's Cloak.
As soon as it touched the Cloak, the latter activated as well.
The Sovereign's Cloak's black fabric radiated a faint glow, while the golden runes on the Cloak began swimming around chaotically.
No, it looks more like they are…excited?
Hmmm, or are they attempting to form a resonance?
Eryndor couldn't keep guessing for long as the golden pattern was absorbed into the Sovereign's Cloak.
Before he could even form his thoughts as to what might have happened, the second golden pattern in the middle broke free from the wall as well.
Just like the first one, it headed towards the Sovereign's Cloak and lightly made contact.
The golden runes on the Sovereign's Cloak went haywire once again before the golden pattern was absorbed once again.
The process repeated itself for the third golden pattern.
When the third one was absorbed as well, the Sovereign's Cloak began rotating while glowing all along.
Even though it was already levitating above its altar, it went further up in height.
After about a minute or two, it finally returned to its original spot and in its previous condition.
It looked like nothing had changed, but Eryndor knew.
As soon as he laid his eyes upon the Sovereign's Cloak which had settled back into its place, he knew.
It was because he was intrinsically connected with the Cloak.
He could, to a certain extent, feel whatever was happening to the Cloak.
And at this point, he had a very clear feeling regarding it.
It's complete.
