I am an Eldritch Entity

Eryndor was seriously considering hiding.

It was a legit thought.

He was also a disciple of the Training Camp.

But when all the others were putting their lives on the line and fighting the two huge beasts, he was here hiding separately in a safe spot.

All the remaining disciples would be furious at him if they realised this.

Eryndor looked at the energy herbs he had gathered and thought.

I should find a secluded spot and start practising to break through to the Telepath realm.

Telepath was a second level of the Mentalist power system.

Eryndor walked to the spot where he had arrived at this space and realised he could enter the area beyond that.

It meant that it wasn't exactly a boundary of this space where he entered.

I would really need to find an exit to leave this place.

As he had this thought, Eryndor looked below.

Majority of the surveillance arts don't have the feature of being able to look through the ground.

Can I hide there?

Eryndor quickly came to a decision, not willing to hold on any longer.

With a higher realm and stage in the Mentalist power system, he would have more insurance if he was indeed found out by the students.

It wasn't that he didn't want to resort to using the eldritch form, but it would always be better if he didn't have to use that form.

One, the chances of exposure increased every time he used that form, and two, it would be better if he didn't have to deal with those lines which consistently sounded in his head when using that form.

Eryndor used Telekinesis to dig a sufficiently spacious room deep into the ground, and used several thick branches of trees at intervals with soil in between to cover up his room.

Of course, he also left some room for the air to ventilate, with a small opening near a river.

Alright, time to use these herbs.

Eryndor took everything he had gathered and laid them out one by one.

Then without wasting any time, he held one in each hand, and circulated his Spiritual Energy according to the particular design.

As soon as the first circulation finished, an absorbing force appeared from his body, which immediately attached to the herbs in his hands.

Abundant Spiritual Energy was devoured with each passing moment as he continued controlling the Spiritual Energy according to the route of the design.

In the Cultivation power system, to go from Qi Refining realm to Qi Condensation realm, the condition of breakthrough was to make a storage sphere in their dantian.

The Mentalist power system wasn't quite similar in that they didn't make a storage system yet.

What they made was a thought seed.

According to what Eryndor had read, this would later evolve into a storage.

Thought seed was formed through focusing the entirety of your being at a point in the centre of the design of your mentalist practice technique.

While continuing to circulate Spiritual Energy along the route of design, one must focus their emotions, their memories, their traumas, and quite literally their entire being at the center of the design.

Of course, not all of their memories, emotions and other things, but as much as you could.

No one could quite possibly remember and focus into one point their entire existence.

They had to maintain this till the breakthrough took place.

Unlike the cultivation power system, this couldn't be stopped midway and continued later.

If one lost focus, the thought seed which was beginning to form in the center of the design would immediately disperse.

Eryndor had already begun this process.

Apparently, even though he had enough control over the energy, focusing the entirety of himself at a single point was difficult.

If one was still confused, a simpler explanation would be that one had to keep their focus on the center of the design, and imagine all their memories, emotions and other things which constituted themselves.

They didn't have to do anything to the center point itself, just imagine everything while keeping their focus on the center.

Of course, all this had to be done while still controlling the Spiritual Energy to go through the route of the design.

After three failed tries which happened at a five minute, eight minute, and nineteenth minute, it was now Eryndor's fourth try to condense a thought seed.

There were no repercussions to failure while condensing a thought seed.

He failed on the fourth one as well, succeeding directly at the ninth try after he took a break of a few hours.

Immediately, Eryndor felt a startling clarity in his mind.

His cognitive capacity didn't seem to have increased, but it was as if fog had been lifted from his mind.

If earlier there was plenty of rust between the cogwheels of his mind, now it was all removed and properly oiled.

Feeling extremely refreshed, Eryndor continued practicing the Mentalist practice technique with the help of remaining herbs.

While all this was ongoing, Eryndor didn't halt his spying on the disciples.

Among the remaining disciples, all of them had initially left his range a few minutes after the battle, but two to three still entered his range every now and then, making Eryndor realize that they hadn't found an exit yet.

When they initially left his range, Eryndor was tempted to expand his Spatial Sight even more, but that would also increase the expenditure of his Energy of Consciousness.

In this unknown land, he found it more appropriate to conserve his energy, be it Qi, Spiritual Energy, or Energy of Consciousness, as much as possible.

Therefore, he ultimately didn't extend his range.

Keeping his sights on the student, Eryndor was about to continue practicing when he suddenly felt something.

It was the same peculiar feeling he had when something was about to happen in his Mind Palace.

Last I checked, nothing was on the verge of breakthrough, what could have happened now?

Eryndor then abruptly realised.

He had reached level two in two power systems!
