HunterxHunter: I Became Stronger After Death

Chapter 34: Action

This must be one of the Phantom Troupe's full gatherings before the main storyline begins.

Moro wasn't certain of the exact time the Spiders assembled—only that it was likely around July or August. It was also possible that they had already been gathered for some time but were only now taking action.

They looted the Navis National Treasure Museum…

The name "Navis" rang a bell for Moro. It was once a renowned ancient civilization, a powerful nation that fell into decline after a devastating 38-year-long war.

Even now, the nation of Navis struggled to preserve its cultural heritage, but the war had irreversibly diminished much of its former glory.

What stood out, however, was this:

Although the once-prosperous cities of Navis were reduced to ruins by enemy hands, the treasures left behind became invaluable relics of that bygone era.

In recent years, the modern Navis government had devoted significant resources to reclaiming lost national treasures scattered across the world. These reclaimed artifacts were housed in the National Treasure Museum located in the capital.

The Phantom Troupe's raid on this museum would have been a devastating blow to Navis, undermining years of effort and sacrifice.

"Probably to upgrade Skill Hunter, huh..."

The mention of "national treasures" immediately made Moro think of Chrollo Lucifer upgrading his abilities.

Skill Hunter was a Trait-type Nen ability that could be enhanced.

It shared certain similarities with Morena's Melody of Love, another Trait-type ability.

In some ways, Moro's own level-up ability tied to the age-ring tattoo also felt like a Trait-type power.

For Skill Hunter, the likely condition for upgrades involved stealing treasures of immense historical or cultural value. Though "stealing" might not always be accurate—often, it was outright robbery.

In the main storyline, the Phantom Troupe's attack on the Yorknew City auction appeared to target similar national-level treasures.

Thinking about it this way, the tattoo's secondary ability to absorb Nen from crafted artifacts also seemed to parallel Skill Hunter in some respects.

After all, objects labeled as "national treasures" were highly likely to carry residual Nen.

Moro glanced at Haruto Washitora and Callista, who were struggling to close their aura nodes. He then sent a message to Argo:

"I'm here."

Roughly a minute later, Argo replied:

"The Phantom Troupe raided the Navis National Treasure Museum and looted everything. Navis deployed its military in pursuit but failed to apprehend them."

"The Troupe has since crossed into the neighboring kingdom of Guganyu. Additionally, a Zoldyck assassin has also arrived in Guganyu and doesn't seem to be hiding his movements."

Reading Argo's detailed report, Moro immediately noticed something odd. He frowned and thought for a moment before the image of Kortopi, the Troupe's #12 member, came to mind.

Knowing Chrollo's meticulous nature, it seemed strange that he wouldn't utilize Kortopi's ability to replicate items when planning the heist on the Navis Museum.

Yet the Troupe had chosen a more direct and violent approach.

Forget it…

Moro shook his head, deciding it wasn't important.

He began debating whether to head to Guganyu himself.

He needed to kill Feitan.

But at this point in time, neither Feitan nor the Troupe had any connection to him.

As long as he didn't actively seek them out, there should be little risk.

"Argo, can you track the Troupe's movements in real-time?"

"Probably. The Troupe members are incredibly confident. Although they entered Guganyu as illegal immigrants, they've made no effort to conceal their presence. Unless they deliberately retreat to some remote mountain hideout, I should be able to keep tabs on them."

"Good. One more thing—can you contact the Zoldyck assassin?"

"I can try reaching out to their employer to get a way to contact the assassin. But I can't guarantee success."

"That's enough. Let me know if you get any leads."

"Understood. But as your partner in this, I feel obliged to advise you not to rush things."

Moro read Argo's final message and put his phone away.

Requesting contact with the Zoldycks would inevitably tip Argo off to some of his plans.

"I won't rush," Moro muttered to himself. "The time I have is limited, but wasting it is not an option. What matters most is how I use it."

Turning his attention back to Haruto and Callista, Moro observed their progress.

Perhaps driven by the fear of death, Haruto had already slowed the rate of his aura leakage. Moro estimated that within a few more minutes, Haruto would fully grasp Ten and learn to retain his aura.

In terms of talent, Haruto wasn't on the same level as Killua or Gon, but he wasn't far behind.

Callista, by contrast, lagged slightly. While she had begun to grasp the basics, she was still missing a key breakthrough.

"Callista, use your imagination," Moro said, walking over to her. His tone was calm.

"Think of your aura as blood circulating throughout your body—from your head, through your shoulders, arms, abdomen, and legs, and back to your heart. Now imagine your head is bleeding profusely. If you don't stop it, you'll bleed out and die."

"...!"

Callista's tightly shut eyes twitched slightly.

Following Moro's guidance, she visualized the scenario and gradually began to suppress the flow of her escaping aura.

A few minutes later, both Haruto and Callista had crossed the threshold and mastered the basics of Ten.

"How does it feel?" Moro asked.

Haruto gazed down at his hands and muttered, "It feels like… my body is wrapped in a layer of stiff paper."

"I don't feel much," Callista said, lifting her legs experimentally. Her eyes sparkled with excitement. "If I had to describe it, I'd say my body feels much lighter."

"This is Ten, the foundation of the Four Major Principles and the first step in mastering Nen," Moro explained. "From now on, you must maintain this state as often as possible."

He briefly studied the unstable aura surrounding them and then suddenly announced, "I'll be leaving for a while. I'm departing today."

"What?"

"Leaving?"

Both Haruto and Callista were startled.

Moro ignored their reactions and continued, "Listen carefully. I'll explain the basic Nen training methods only once. Memorize them well and complete the foundational goals before I return. If you fail, don't bother staying in my sight."

Haruto and Callista's expressions grew serious as they nodded resolutely.

Over an hour later, Moro left the Heaven's Arena and headed to the nearest airport.

He was on his way to Guganyu.
