Chapter 106: Chapter 106 – Threatened
A gun was aimed at the back of my head. It wasn't the first time someone pointed their gun at me.
But this was Ada Wong.
The woman that worked with the rival company and got in Leon's way. Sometimes she also helped when their goal aligned for a while.
Her goal now was probably the G-Virus sample, but I had no idea how she was related to this whole mess.
Anyway, I was a suspicious individual who had weapons in her mind. If I made any wrong move, she would put a hole in my head without any hesitation.
Beautiful, yes. But she was a deadly woman as well.
So I raised both my hands to show her I didn't have any bad intentions. I didn't move from my position.
"Turn around." Ada's voice rang through the sewer, her voice cold and emotionless, "And slowly. I wouldn't want to put a hole in a pretty face."
"Sure."
I followed her instructions and slowly turned my body to face her. By doing this, I had a good look at her pretty face and perfect figure.
My eyes widened slightly as I took notice of her beautiful body and the way her red dress clung tightly to her curves. Her eyes were sharp, calculating every single one of my movements.
Ada was also holding her pistol in a professional manner, with the safety off and ready to shoot. She didn't make any sudden movements either, as if she was waiting for something to happen.
"So, what are you doing here, handsome? And don't give me any bullshit answers, or else..."
Her question was short and to the point.
But what kind of answer would satisfy her? To be honest, I didn't even know the reason why I came here. I was only trying to stop this whole mess. However, Ada might think I'm trying to bullshit my way out if I told her my real purpose here.
At that moment...
[Ding! You have received 400 Shop Points + 2 Strength + 2 All Stats!]
[Make your choice.]
1. Be honest with Ada Wong. There might be a chance she will believe you. (Reward: 100 Shop Points)
2. Bullshit her. Maybe you can convince her somehow. (Reward: 150 Shop Points)
3. Maybe compliment her about her looks? Women loves being complimented, after all. (Reward: 300 Shop Points)
4. Seduce Ada Wong. Make her yours. (Reward: 400 Shop Points)
What the fuck? The system was giving me this choice now?
I was at the gunpoint and my life could be in danger if I made a wrong choice here. I wouldn't even get a second chance to do a do over.
Seducing Ada fucking Wong? What the fuck is wrong with the system? It was giving me this kind of option right now? Was it trying to kill me or what?
Not to mention it was placed at the 4th choice, the most dangerous choice that would lead me into trouble. Also, why did it have the highest reward out of all of them?
Well, I had no plan on picking the last choice. It would only make everything worse if I did. I wasn't suicidal, and there were no guarantees that I could get away from here alive. So I had to choose something that wouldn't make my situation worse.
"I am just an adventurer who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. I have nothing to do with any of these zombies." I answered carefully. I made sure my answer sounded convincing.
It was partially the truth. Even though I lied a bit.
Ada didn't respond to my words immediately, but her gaze became more suspicious. Her expression hardened as well, making me doubt myself even more.
No man would go to a sewer at this time, anyway.
"..."
Seconds passed.
"An adventurer? Right, at this time and age, huh?" Ada scoffed, looking at the paper that jutted out of my chest. She grabbed it with her hand and waved it around, "Then what is this?"
"A treasure map?" I smiled wryly. That was the best I could come up with at the moment.
I meant, she already looked at me with suspicious eyes and I couldn't say that the map led me to a place full of gold or something like that.
She would probably shoot me.
"Very funny. A comedian, huh?"
"..."
"Then you are here for the virus, am I right? Are you with the military? Your vest is military made. Don't play dumb with me."
Oh, right. I currently wore a vest given to me by Miss Rika.
"No." I answered immediately. My expression didn't change, and my voice was firm.
"Hmmm... A man of mystery." Ada mumbled under her breath, looking me over carefully, "Your face looks young, but your body seems well-built. Your equipment is also military-grade. Just tell me your name, handsome."
"I don't like to give my name to someone who has their pistol aimed at me." I replied calmly. But since her finger got closer to the trigger, I hastily continued. "But since the one asking is a beautiful lady, I guess I will make an exception."
Ada didn't react at all to the compliment, which was understandable. But her finger was now 1 inch away from the trigger.
"My name is Daiki. Nice to meet you. And I came from Japan to find shelter from the outbreak. Can't say that I am doing well right now, though. The city's already destroyed." I shrugged my shoulders, "I just want to survive."
It wasn't exactly the whole truth, but not exactly a lie either.
Ada's eyes narrowed and she seemed to be deep in thought, considering my words carefully. She hummed quietly and nodded once. Then, without saying anything else, she turned her back and started to walk toward the exit door, not bothering to answer me.
"I guess that means we are done talking? So you aren't gonna shoot me now?" I asked loudly, still a bit tense.
She didn't stop, nor did she answer. Instead, she simply walked through the door, disappearing into the other side while waving her hand.
I didn't know why she left just like that, but at least I wasn't dead yet. And it was all because of the choice I made.
