Chapter 171: Chapter 171: The Sixth Sense of the Golden-Eyed Lolita
In the entertainment industry, actresses remain at a disadvantage compared to their male counterparts. Despite years of advocating for gender equality—and the calls will undoubtedly continue—the gap in status and earnings between top-tier actresses and actors remains stark.
Moreover, in the eyes of many wealthy individuals, celebrities are merely expensive commodities. Countless people covet their bodies. What kind of woman can't a rich person obtain? Yet, no matter how beautiful a woman is, she lacks the unique allure that surrounds a female star. Once an actress gains a modicum of fame, she often faces suppression, followed by various figures stepping onto the stage, offering all sorts of deals to tempt her. This was even more rampant in the past, and while the future may involve more transparent transactions, securing an opportunity often requires sacrificing one's body—a reality even top-tier actresses cannot escape.
Regulus Black's advice to these actresses stems from his ability to provide them with superior resources. Unlike新人 actresses, they don't need to exhaust themselves pleasing agents, directors, producers, or the higher-ups of Hollywood's major studios. For Regulus, it's a simple matter of casting a "Confundus Charm." If one isn't enough, he'll cast another.
Regulus Black isn't content with merely producing Crimson Peak. He plans to make more films in the future. As a wizard, ignoring the developments of the Muggle world would be utterly foolish. Wizards have unique advantages that open up countless opportunities in the Muggle realm.
From a timeline perspective, if the world after 1990 follows its original historical trajectory without significant changes, this parallel universe with a wizarding backdrop will see Muggles progressing as they always have. Thus, Regulus Black aims to seize power, wealth, and influence not only in the wizarding world but also in the Muggle one.
After some thought, Regulus realized he had no classes today. Handling matters for Lucius Malfoy's film company had taken half the day, and Lucy Piddle was still dealing with related issues. The full transition would take some time. So, Regulus decided to pass the time at the golden-eyed lolita's place.
Arriving at Sarah Maydani's home, he found the young girl engrossed in the magic books he had left her. Though she was a Squib, unable to cast spells, her wizarding family heritage made her more attuned to magic than the average Muggle. Unfortunately, her father had neglected his responsibilities for the past decade and more.
"You're reading Quentin Trimble's The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection. Have you finished Standard Book of Spells?" Regulus asked. He had given her several beginner-level magic books. While Sarah could only use the magic imbued in her accessories, she still needed to learn to identify spells cast by others.
"I've gone through Standard Book of Spells Grades 1 to 4," Sarah replied. "When you're not here, I'm either working or reading."
The moment she saw Regulus, Sarah dropped her book and flung herself into his arms, hugging him tightly. Regulus returned the embrace warmly, and the two settled into her previous spot. Sarah curled up in his lap like a kitten.
"Regulus! Look, those are my notes. By wizarding standards, each book has a 10-foot essay!" She pointed to a stack of papers on the table—about 40 sheets in total.
"Accio manuscript!" Sarah used the "Accio" charm embedded in her brooch, summoning the papers into her hand. Written in elegant script, her detailed essays would likely surpass the work of more than half the students at Hogwarts. Thinking of those children who squandered their natural talents, Regulus couldn't help but feel a pang of regret for Sarah's Squib condition.
Quietly, the two sat in each other's embrace. Regulus carefully read through her essays, genuinely impressed. Sarah nestled closer, gazing up at his face as he studied her work with focus. This was respect, acknowledgment—unlike her father, who had abandoned her and dismissed her efforts without a second thought.
Sarah's heart melted. Though their relationship resembled that of a teacher and student or even a father and daughter, it was, in truth, a kept mistress arrangement—a dynamic that underscored their unequal status. Still, seeing Regulus take her work seriously filled her with immense joy.
"These are excellent," Regulus said with a smile, ruffling her hair as if petting a cat. "Better than most Hogwarts students your age. You'd outshine the majority."
"I have time to stay with you today," he added. "I won't leave until you're ready to sleep."
Sarah nervously licked her lips. She knew the day would come when she'd have to give herself to him, but she hadn't expected it so soon. "Do I need to prepare anything? Should we bathe together firstանի
System: bathe first? Or should I change into something for you to see?"
Regulus blinked, then chuckled. His little mistress was certainly dedicated! "You're only thirteen, aren't you? Even if you think you're all grown up, I'd rather wait until you're of age. A green fruit tastes better when it's ripe."
the ripe fruit tastes better when it's ripe."
Regulus laughed and patted her head, breaking the moment of ambiguity. "Don't worry, I'm not planning to take you to an amusement park. I just want to spend time with you like family, each doing our own thing, with you by my side."
Sarah pouted, her lips trembling slightly. "I'm not a kid! I'm not interested in childish things like amusement parks!" she huffed, her golden eyes flashing with indignation.
Regulus smiled, his tone gentle but firm. "I know you're not a child, Sarah. But I'd rather wait until you're ready. There's no rush."
Her pout deepened, and she muttered under her breath, "You said I'd be your mistress, didn't you? I was ready to give myself to you, and now you're backing out?"
Regulus shook his head, amused by her fervor. "No backing out. I just want to make sure you're fully prepared. That's all."
Sarah's cheeks flushed, and she crossed her arms. "You're treating me like a kid! I'm not a kid!" she protested, her voice rising.
Regulus leaned back, his expression softening. "I know, Sarah. I'm just saying we should take our time. I want you to be sure."
She huffed again, but her posture relaxed slightly. "Fine. But don't expect me to wait forever."
Regulus grinned, ruffling her hair again. "Patience, little one. We'll get there."
The two sat together, Regulus grading papers with a quill that floated in the air, enchanted to mark assignments automatically. Sarah picked up a sketchpad and began drawing a charcoal portrait of Regulus on a blank sheet of paper.
Regulus glanced at her work, noticing she was sketching him, but said nothing and continued with his grading. The quill scratched across the papers, pausing only when he needed to review a score. He knew the students would likely groan when they saw their marks tomorrow—many of them falling short of Sarah's Squib-level diligence.
After a while, Regulus finished grading and pulled out a stack of parchment and a finer quill, one that recorded the user's handwriting habits, ensuring the script matched his own. He began writing, titling the page The Sixth Sense of the Golden-Eyed Lolita.
