He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact

Chapter 240. Orientation.

The ten thousand examinees, stared at their new surroundings, taking in the bustling metropolis that looked no different from a city.

"This is one of the many planets of the academy.

As you can all see, even those of you in the first year are ten thousand. That tells you how many students are in the academy.

Anyway, you can learn more about the academy after receiving your academy identity slots."

The instructor, talking to the new students with a bored expression, waved his hand.

Suddenly, several chip like devices floated before him, then moved towards the students.

"Stretch your hands."

They did as he instructed.

The chip like devices bound themselves to their hands, causing some sort of warm sensation to spread through their bodies for a moment before it ceased.

"Check the rankings of the first years."

They did as instructed.

[Rank 1 Kailen Darkhaven - 8000 points

Rank 2 Esimo Asthon - 3000 points

Rank 3 Everlong Atrexia - 2500 points

Rank 4. Cimeris Lugino - 1500 points

....

Rank 10. Bryce Darkhaven - 1400 points

.....

Rank 11. Sanguine Mel - 1000 points

....]

The list went on and on to the last person.

Seeing the knowing expressions on their faces after staring at the rankings, the instructor nodded.

"Looks like you are not dumb after all. Yes, just as you are thinking, the rankings are based on your placement during the entrance exams, which in turn was determined by the points you accumulated during the entrance exams.

In the academy, everything depends on points.

Food, clothing, even residence, affording an instructor, utilizing training facilities, buying elixirs, the list goes on and on. Everything depends on points."

At the mention of this, several individuals couldn't help but stare at Kailen Darkhaven, the first place, with envious expressions.

They were all aware of the ridiculous amount of points he had accumulated during the entrance exams.

Did it not literally mean he was a billionaire in the academy at this point?

The instructor, noticing their expressions, decided to strike while the iron was hot, when Bryce Darkhaven asked a question many wanted to ask.

"How then can we get points?"

The instructor replied, "I was coming to that. You can get points by completing missions, performing certain outstanding achievements to trigger certain reward mechanisms of the academy, and as most famously do, challenge someone of a higher rank to an official duel.

The one who wins the duel replaces the one who loses, ultimately gaining the winner's ranking.

As for lending points to someone, it's literally impossible.

Also, in the academy, strength determines everything. Not your background. Those of you with snobbish attitudes will learn that the hard way. Your parents, sects, and powerful backgrounds are not here to protect you, you are on your own.

The academy is not here to spoon-feed you. Our goal is to make you strong and self-reliant on your power. After graduation, you'll all be mandated to enlist in the empire's military for four years. On the battlefield, your families won't be able to save your asses. It will be you, your strength and wits against the enemy."

The instructor's words struck them with brutal honesty, snapping them into reality.

Those from influential backgrounds especially, showed determined expressions, realising that things won't be easy for them as they thought it would.

Some however remained undeterred, confident in their own strength.

The instructor continued, knowing his words had made the impact he wanted it to make.

"Anyway I'm done. Check your id slots for further details regarding the academy.

Oh, and remember, don't slack off too much, else you will be expelled."

Scanning the students who seemed to have gotten the hidden message behind his last words, the instructor disappeared.

"Damn! This academy is really ruthless."

"The rumors were true."

"Over here, only points matter."

"Yeah, but this Kailen Darkhaven is really a monster. The gap between him and the other people on the top of the rankings is really incredulous. Where the hell did he appear from?"

"Hey, haven't you noticed there are two Darkhavens on the top rankings?"

"Yeah, one is the clan leader's son.

Apparently heard he was useless, however I guess they were just what they were, baseless rumors."

Ignoring the chatters, Bryce watched Kailen fly off to a particular direction of the metropolis with calm indifference.

"Let's see how things play out. Initially thought it would be easy to get him on my side for the time being, due to his hatred for my father and manipulate him to get rid of my father then get rid of him, but I have never been more wrong about someone in my life. This guy is not someone I can control or manipulate. Not only is he strong, he's equally terrifying when it comes to thinking a step ahead and scheming. I suppose I have to abandon my previous plan and employ the help of some senior students, to get rid of him.

As for father, I guess I will have to grow stronger to kill him myself."

Bryce mused with cold determination, then disappeared.

Everlong Atrexia stared at Kailen's back as he moved towards a particular region of the metropolis.

"I'll try to connect with him later. It wouldn't hurt to have someone like him in my circle."

A voice suddenly interrupted her, "Everlong, don't tell me you have a crush on Kailen Darkhaven?"

Esimo tapped her shoulder with a sigh.

It was obvious from his tone that the duo were old friends, knowing each other before they enrolled in the academy.

"Don't be stupid Esimo. I admit he's my type but I don't have a crush on him. Don't you think it's necessary to befriend someone like him? Surely if no accidents occur in the academy, he will become a very influential person in the future."

Esimo nodded, "True. I suppose. However I just want to spar with him."

"Are you thinking of—" Esimo cut off Everlong before she even had the chance to finish talking, realising what she was trying to imply.

"I'm a proud person Miss Atrexia, not a fool. After pushing myself to the limits, using all my strength and trump cards during the entrance exams to catch up to him, I still failed. I only want to exchange blows with him. Nothing much. But guess that can wait. Now, I have to find an accommodation and familiarise myself with the academy.

See you around."

With that, the titan turned into a streak of light and disappeared.

Everlong nodded, shooting towards another direction.

As for Cimeris and Sanguine, they also went to find an accommodation for themselves.
