Chapter Thirty-Six: The Principal Took Him to Play Truant!

"Okay, so which of these wands do you use most?" Dumbledore asked, noticing that the wands showed signs of wear and tear. Some of them were more worn than others.

"I use them all the time and usually whichever one comes in handy!" Kyle grinned. His strength mainly came from black magic, and he had basically reached the level of casting spells without a staff. Against wizards who were stronger than him, an extra wand wouldn't affect anything, and against wizards who were weaker, no wand was needed. As to why he didn't go to Diagon Alley to order a wand—stop causing trouble. With such a big battle at the station last school year, let alone Diagon Alley...

This time, Dumbledore was genuinely shocked. A wand is a wizard's weapon, requiring mutual selection and constant practice to use freely. Even the strong, like Snape, couldn't exert much strength with another's wand. Yet Kyle, with those mismatched wands, could set off a bloodbath in Knockturn Alley. Dumbledore felt he should reevaluate Kyle's potential. "I think you should customize a magic wand unique to you; it will greatly help your spellcasting."

"Really?" Kyle lit up. Wand or not, it didn't matter. He was about to take the opportunity to leave the castle and retrieve the pets he left outside. Now it was better—the headmaster would personally take him. How majestic!

"Then let's go now, principal, I can't wait!"

"Okay, we'll let Fawkes take us," Dumbledore agreed, getting up and picking up his hat. He thought Kyle was a bit overexcited but didn't dwell on it. "Oh, professor, I need to tell you that if I show up in Diagon Alley, someone may come out to welcome me warmly, maybe even too excitedly. I'm afraid of accidents..."

"It doesn't matter!" Dumbledore shook his head with a smile. He was the greatest White Wizard of this century. What could be termed an accident in front of him? After saying that, he called Fawkes onto his shoulder, and the two Ibrahimovic jumped onto Kyle's shoulder as soon as they saw they were about to leave.

"Grab my arm, boy!"

"No, Professor, I'll just grab your robe," Kyle refused with a smile. What if grabbing sleeves caused them to tear during teleportation?

"Okay, Fawkes, take us to Diagon Alley!" Dumbledore instructed. As he finished speaking, "Crack!" With a crisp sound, Kyle felt dizzy for a moment and then grounded again a moment later. Diagon Alley was here. This is the largest wizarding commercial street in England. Even though the little wizards had already started school, there were still people coming and going.

"Very well, here we are, boy!"

"Well, they should be here too," Kyle said, stretching. To be honest, he hadn't been to Diagon Alley more than twice, mainly because...

"They?" Dumbledore looked puzzled, but before he could figure it out, "Crack!" "Crack!" "Crack!" the dense apparition sounds suddenly rang out.

Four squads, totaling twelve Aurors, appeared in Diagon Alley. The two people were immediately surrounded in the center.

"Drop your wand and don't try to resist!" commanded an Auror.

"Everyone, hurry, evacuate! Get out of here, it's dangerous!" shouted another.

The Auror captain, feeling as if he were facing a formidable enemy, wiped cold sweat from his brow as the autumn wind blew around him. This is the "Diagon Alley Special Guard Auror Unit," established by the Ministry of Magic three years ago. Twelve Aurors were dedicated to guarding Diagon Alley, specifically against Kyle.

"Oh, Merlin, what happened?" someone in the crowd wondered aloud.

"The Aurors sent by the Ministry of Magic to guard Diagon Alley have actually been dispatched," someone replied in alarm. "Get out of here!"

The usually bustling crowd in Diagon Alley scattered at their shouts. Those who could Apparate did so immediately, while the rest quickly hid in the shops on either side of the street.

Diagon Alley, once crowded, became empty in an instant. Against the backdrop of swirling wind stirring fallen leaves, Old Deng stood, feeling numb all over.

In all his years, even when he was the second-in-command of the "Saints" organization, he had never been received in such a manner. As soon as he appeared, everyone on the street was scared away. Could this really be called a warm welcome?

"Professor Dumbledore?" The leading Auror captain, Mullen — a Ravenclaw alumnus who graduated more than ten years ago — immediately recognized him. He quickly motioned for all his subordinates to put down their wands.

"Professor, why are you here?" he asked.

"I brought a student to Diagon Alley for some business. What about you?" Dumbledore responded.

Mullen glanced at Kyle, then back at Dumbledore, feeling a headache coming on. Good lord! This student was already causing enough trouble, and now he's got such a powerful ally?

"Your student is quite well-known here, and we're here for..."

"Oh, well, I see," Dumbledore interrupted with a wave of his hand.

"Kyle is an excellent student at Hogwarts, and I submitted his application for the Order of Merlin just yesterday."

"Mullen, you don't have to be so vigilant."

Mullen's eyes widened with astonishment. Order of Merlin? For whom? A suspected troublemaker? Merlin, what is going on in this world?
