Chapter 37: Cassandra Appears!
Just as they had sent off the squad stationed in Diagon Alley, the wall behind the "Leaky Cauldron" suddenly parted. A middle-aged man walked over with a little girl about Kyle's age. The little girl had golden hair draped over her shoulders and a pair of big eyes with an aloof look.
"Cassandra Worley?" Kyle recognized the girl immediately. The world seemed to be getting more and more interesting. "Oh, Professor Dumbledore, it's an honor to meet you here!" The middle-aged man's eyes lit up when he saw Dumbledore, and he hurriedly moved forward to greet him warmly.
"Mr. Worley, long time no see!" Dumbledore replied. The Worley family was also a pure-blood family, though not from England—not anymore. They had migrated to America more than two hundred years ago. However, the family maintained a deep connection with Hogwarts, with many members having served as teachers there. There was even a portrait of an ancestor hanging in the principal's office. Consequently, every generation of the Worley family attended Hogwarts.
"I'm sorry, I should have written to you in advance to explain we were delayed," Mr. Worley said. "We just rushed over here to visit Diagon Alley to buy a wand for my niece, then go to Hogwarts to find you. I didn't expect to meet you here by chance."
"It's all right. Didn't I see Miss Worley during the holidays?" Dumbledore winked at Cassandra. "The Sorting Hat has already placed her in Slytherin House." Hogwarts, established thousands of years ago, has perfected its systems. In this magical world, where pure-blood families monopolize everything, there is nothing unusual about privilege. In fact, Cassandra's entrance ceremony was a few days earlier than those of the other young wizards.
"Strange, Professor Dumbledore, why is there no one in Diagon Alley today?" Worley looked around, puzzled. Every time he came to Diagon Alley before, it was lively. "Who knows, I think it's because the little wizards have already started school?" Dumbledore speculated.
What else could it be? Because of his presence, people were scared away? Would he, the "greatest white wizard of this century," lose face?
"How about this, Mr. Worley," Dumbledore continued, "Why don't you hand your niece over to me first? I happen to be taking the students to buy wands too." The Worley family had been having some trouble lately. Otherwise, they wouldn't have delayed Cassandra's enrollment.
"Oh, that's really great. To be honest, I've been incredibly busy lately." Worley was overjoyed to hear that and bid Cassandra and Dumbledore goodbye before returning to America by Portkey. The thought of it was a terrible experience.
After the farewells, Dumbledore took the two young students to Ollivander's wand shop.
...
"You are also a freshman at Hogwarts?" Cassandra asked Kyle curiously, her eyes finally landing on Kyle's green scarf. "Slytherin? What a coincidence." She smiled. "My name is Cassandra. You can call me Big Sister!"
"Be my little brother, I will take care of you in school from now on!" Cassandra's tone was tinged with arrogance. But Kyle knew that this girl was tsundere. In fact, she was a cold-hearted person. But that was okay for Kyle. Even if Merlin were resurrected, he would still have to leave a few boxes behind!
"Oh, really?" Kyle replied. "That's great. You will be my eldest sister in the future. How about calling you Sister Ka? Don't worry, Sister Ka, I will save face for you later!" Kyle put on an excited expression.
"Sister Ka, this is really a strange name, but you can do whatever you want," Cassandra said with a cold look on the surface, though she was a little excited inside. She hadn't even started school yet, and she'd already taken in a younger brother. Really not bad!
"Okay, kids, here we are." While chatting, the three arrived at the door of Ollivander's wand shop. Ollivander was not only one of the "Twenty-Eight Pure Blood Holy Families," but also one of the three master wand makers in the wizarding world. Many foreigners would come to Diagon Alley specifically to buy his wands.
On the outside of the shop, it read "Ollivander, fine wand maker since 382 BC!" Kyle couldn't figure it out. What was the mindset... brandishing the slogan "professional cane making for two thousand years" for all to see?
"Professor, let me open the door!" Kyle tried to get to the front, not forgetting to turn around and wink at Cassandra. "Okay," Dumbledore smiled. He'd found another spark in Kyle. What a polite child!
The next second, "Bang!" There was a sound. Kyle kicked open the door of the wand shop, then swaggered in. "Get out of the way, my eldest sister Cassandra is here! Where are the people? Hurry up and greet them!" Old Deng and Cassandra outside heard Kyle's arrogant voice inside and suddenly felt a rush of confusion.
Cassandra: "???"
