Harry Potter: I Am a Dragon

Chapter 10: 10

I was in a terrible state. By the time I got to my room, I had calmed down. No, if it happened again, I would do the same thing. I don't know what that giant wanted to do, and I have no right to take the risk of leaving the little one with him.

Meanwhile, the baby wrapped itself around my neck and purred contentedly, occasionally licking my cheek. It would be nice to give him a name.

Picking up the baby, I looked into his eyes, peering into the essence of his existence.

"Dain Dreem Fakro, that is your name from now on. Welcome, Guardian of the Peaceful Forest.

At my words, Dain only growled, agreeing with me.

When I reached the living room, I sat down in an armchair, not hiding Day from Daphne.

Daphne couldn't take her eyes off the dragon sleeping on my lap. Another test for her. If she runs away, she'll go straight to Dumbledore, as the closest and strongest authority figure. In that case, he would erase her memory, and I would get rid of her family. If she turned me in to her parents, I would simply kill them. If she wrote to the Aurors, I would order them to kill her family and simply subdue the Aurors themselves.

To my surprise, she simply walked over, sat down on the armrest of my chair, emphasising her slender legs, and began to stroke Dumbledore.

"Where did he come from?

"The gamekeeper. Day was crying, I heard him and came to help.

"What about Hagrid?" I didn't answer, watching the girl's reaction. She smiled sadly and said.

"I'll keep quiet. Dai? Interesting name, but what are you going to do with him?" Her words made me smile.

"I'll send him to Lily, she'll take care of him.

"Won't they find them?"

"They haven't been able to find us for so many years, they won't find us now.

"Why do you call your mother by her first name?" - She just found out that her classmate and the man who lives next door to her just killed someone (half of him), is hiding a dragon, and wants to raise it. But she's asking these questions?

"It's a family matter.

We sat in silence for an hour. All that time, Daphne sat next to me, stroking Day. Eventually, she fell asleep, resting her head on my shoulder.

The morning began with me calling Lily. After briefly explaining what had happened, I received a disapproving look, which turned to joy when she saw Day.

"Oh, you were just as cute when you turned into a child, only you were black and had a crown on your head!" Lily gushed.

The headmaster, upon learning what had happened, just nodded his head.

"Hagrid, what a handsome boy he was as a child... I feel sorry for him." He did not blame him or say anything else.

At breakfast, the students were told that Draco, who had decided to take a walk at night in the Dark Forest, had been attacked by dark creatures, without specifying what kind. But the gamekeeper, at the cost of his life, was able to chase them away and save the child.

Draco himself could not say anything. But then it turned out that he had personally wounded several fiery creatures that looked like dogs made of flame. Like those dogs, they simply scattered into ashes in the wind when he killed them by the dozens...

At night, using the ring, I moved to Lily's house. Handing over Day, who happily ran out into the street, I was grabbed by the girl's tenacious hands. They hugged me all night, and I responded in kind.

In the morning, when I returned to Hogwarts, I walked happily to breakfast, singing a song.

Aldwin, Aldwin, burn the cities,

Scatter the clouds in the sky with your wings!

And enemies hear much trouble in the roar at dawn,

Alduin, decide their fate!

And it was written long ago

Of the beginning of a war full of blood and strife.

Ancient scrolls that spoke of the end of all worlds.

Alduin! Destroyer! Ancient evil!

King who brings death so easily!

Alduin! Alduin! Devour this world!

Alduin, may you exalt the Dragonborn.

The students passed by, looking at me strangely. I was pleased with how I had spent the night. Breakfast with Daphne was peaceful. All the students watched us eat eggs with pork, washing it down with juniper honey. These mortals were given oatmeal and... tea? Where's the pumpkin juice? The only thing that made the children happy was the absence of pumpkin juice. It turns out that all the pumpkins that went to the dining hall were grown by Hagrid using magic. Now, this strategically important fruit was in danger of extinction.

The days passed quickly enough. My potions were excellent, and Snape, gritting his teeth, gave me top marks. I also mastered Charms, DADA and Herbology with the highest grades. Live with me, learn everything, and many Dragon priests were masters in many fields. When I taught them Tu'uma, my pride went wild. "How is this possible?! These humans have learned the Dragon language, but I don't know anything about their magic! This cannot be!" Such thoughts were in my head, for which I am grateful.

Daphne began to smile more often when we were alone. She asked me to help her with a few subjects, which I did not refuse, as it was not difficult for me, and I found her interesting.

About once a week, I visited Lily and Day. The dragon grew quite quickly, finding food for himself. At first, he hunted rats in the forest, then birds and rabbits. Now he is the size of a medium-sized dog. In ten years, he'll be able to destroy Hogwarts.

Lily greeted me with hugs that made me melt. When gentle hands touch you, pressing you against a large chest. When you are kissed passionately, any male turns into a puddle of happiness...

When I was away, Lily taught and trained Day. Soon I will make her a Dragon Priestess. My time with her is not wasted. During our caresses, the girl's magic intertwines with mine. Since my essence is stronger, the girl's aura changes. It's not critical, but in a year or two, she will be able to use normal magic and screams. Ordinary priests and greybeards had to study for decades...

May is almost over, and I've passed almost all my exams with top marks. The only thing clouding my existence is the constant harassment from red-haired Ron and blond Malfoy, who is unhappy about his broken engagement to the Granger family and the constant humiliation I subject him to after he attacks me. That idiot even challenged me to a duel, in response to which I hit him on the head with a miniature Wabbajack, turning him into a white fox. The spell couldn't be broken, but it wore off on its own after a couple of days. When I was called to the Headmaster's office to be punished, he just said, "It's just a harmless prank, big deal, you turned him into an animal, you didn't kill him!" Hehe, you should have seen Snape's face when Dumbledore asked him to stay behind...

Now back to Ron. That degenerate won't stop trying to be my friend! He tries to sit next to me during class or at meals. But Daphne, whom I have taught quite well, quickly pushes him away and sits next to me.

The red-haired idiot doesn't even realise she's saving his life! He looks at her resentfully and tries to complain to me. Seeing my state, Daphne cast a stinging spell on the redhead, driving him away from the source of danger.

Tomorrow is the last day of school, so I decided to deal with Quirrell. As Dumbledore informed me, Quirrell has been going through the traps in the third-floor corridor for a week. He stands near a huge crystal that was supposed to contain the Philosopher's Stone. Considering that I ground it into powder, he's doing it for nothing.

Continuing to check on Daphne, I took her with me.

When I spoke to the awakened Cerberus using animal magic, she blinked in shock. And when the three heads nodded, raising their paws above the hatch, she just stood there for a few seconds with a blank look on her face.

I sent a firefly into the hatch and saw vines. A couple of fireballs, and the barrier was gone.

"Can you talk to Cerberuses?" she asked when she regained her voice.

"Cerberuses, birds, wolves, fish, insects. It makes no difference. Why? Can't you?"

"No, I heard that sometimes wizards are born who can talk to snakes. This gift is considered dark, possessed by Salazar and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

"Hehe, I don't understand that. Talking to animals is magic. As I understand it, the gift of snake-speak is an innate gift of magic. Magic can't be dark. Just believe me." I remembered the fiery-haired girl with blue eyes. I remembered how she hugged me and smiled sincerely, remembered how I felt her love, her love for her son. She can't be dark.

The girl just nodded, thinking about her own thoughts and following me.

Entering the new room, I noticed a door and thousands of keys with wings fluttering above the ceiling. Near the wall stood a pair of brooms.

"Fus-Ro-Da!" A shock wave knocked the door open, letting us through. Daphne, just recovering from the shock, froze again.

"How is that possible?!" "Now move away quickly, it's growing."

"Are you ready to find out? Keep in mind, there's no turning back, and you won't be able to escape.

"I... But the clang of metal prevented her from finishing. We were talking so much that we didn't notice how we had passed almost the entire next room with stone statues standing in two rows. The first row of statues drew their swords, blocking our way.

"What am I supposed to do with you... "With a wave of his hand, the statues flew at each other, obeying the will of telekinesis. A pile of stones was all that remained of the armed stone golems. "That'll do.

We moved on, and Daphne remembered what she had been talking about.

"I... I'm curious, but scared. Tell me just one thing. Are you human?

I remain silent as I enter the room with the table. Behind and in front of the doors, walls of fire appear. Several bottles appear on the table, which I ignore.

"Evernar." The first word of the Scream extinguishes any flame within a radius of several metres. The walls of fire begin to fade, leaving no trace behind.

POV Daphne Green Grass

Ever since I met Alduin, he had impressed me. At first, my father asked me to explore the possibility of cooperation with Potter and, in the future, to give me to him as a bride. The family needed a lot of money, and the Malfoys, who were responsible for our family's ruin, were asking for too high a price. In addition to me or my sister as a bride, they demanded our vassalage. My father had almost agreed, swallowing his pride... But then he remembered Potter and the rumours of his family's wealth.

Raised strictly and taught to think, I understood Alduin's character, or so I thought. Most likely, I didn't even scratch the surface of this guy's personality.

He agreed to help without asking for anything in return. Afterwards, he met with my father and gave him the money. My father advised me not to stray far from Alduin. I agreed with my father. Ald was quite handsome and intelligent. He stood out from the very first day. A new faculty was being created, whose symbol was a dragon drawn in black and white. It was a strange but beautiful costume. He intrigued all the girls at school, a mysterious prince who had defeated the Dark Lord. I was intrigued by his mystery.

After Alduin helped our family, my father received threatening letters that were aimed at me. It was dangerous to go to school, but I went anyway.

I joined Alduin on the train. During the trip, he threw out the sixth Weasley, followed by Draco and the rest of his gang.

At school, I sat with him at the same table, then he said that I would be in his faculty. At first, I didn't believe him, but he took me to Dumbledore's living room, which turned out to be the legendary "Room of Requirement." It was luxuriously furnished, with a hot tub and huge bedrooms.

The next day, the headmaster confirmed my transfer to Dovah, and Alduin gave me an invisibility amulet and a suit just like the one he wore. That suit, by the way, saved me several times from the spells of my former "friends."

Alduin and I talked a lot in the evenings about all sorts of things. A few weeks passed, and then I saw him running out of his room in his shorts, into the living room, and then into the castle.

Half an hour later, he returned with a little dragon. That's when I found out that he had killed Hagrid, but it didn't scare me. The thought flashed through my mind that he hadn't done it just like that.

I sat next to Alduin, stroking the warm scales of the little dragon. It was relaxing, and I felt so cosy and calm that I didn't notice when I fell asleep on the boy's shoulder.

He agreed to teach me. I already understood that he was not just a simple wizard. The spells he taught me were at the level of a third- to sixth-year student. With each passing day, Alduin seemed warmer to me, drawing me in like a moth to a flame. This thought both attracted and frightened me. I knew what would happen if a moth got too close to the flame, but I couldn't resist. Every day I smiled at him more and more. I wanted him to see my smile, only him.

Draco continued to plot, but each time he banged his head against an insurmountable wall in the form of Alduin. He tried everything: turning himself into a blond, funny curses. Alduin was just having fun, but there was one person he was ready to kill. The sixth Weasley drove Alduin crazy in a matter of seconds. On top of that, he took my place next to Alduin. I chased the redhead away, saving his life, and calmed my soul by sending more curses after him.

Today, Alduin said we had an important mission. Passing through the forbidden corridor on the third floor, we encountered Cerberus. I stood behind the guy, ready to help him, but Alduin just growled at Cerberus, who nodded his heads and opened a hatch for us. He spoke to the cerberus? And, as he himself confirmed, he can talk to any animal. He said that magic is never dark. He spoke so confidently and with such love that I had no reason to doubt his words.

Then he knocked the door down with a strange force created only by a strange spell he shouted.

"How is that possible?!" I managed to form a question.

"Are you ready to find out? Keep in mind, there's no turning back, and you won't be able to escape." I could tell right away that he wasn't lying. I was faced with a choice that I would have to make. Maybe not today, but eventually.

"I... The metallic clang of swords held by stone golems prevented me from answering. Alduin simply moved them around using magic, that was all.

"I... I'm curious, but I'm scared. Just tell me one thing. Are you human?

Silence was my answer. As we entered the next room, the entrance and exit were blocked by walls of fire. Another strange spell without a wand, and the fire disappeared.

In the new room was a huge crystal, next to which stood Professor DADA.

"Ah, Potter and his girlfriend..." Did I blush at those words?

"The Lord said you would come. Tell me, do you know how to get the Philosopher's Stone out of this crystal?" - I was so tired of being surprised today that I didn't even pay attention to the words about the stone.

"It's not there. I destroyed it a long time ago.

"You're lying!" Professor Quirrell shouted, even stopping his stuttering.

"Let me talk to him..." said a new voice.

The professor began to unwind his turban, revealing...

"Hello, Voldy, long time no see," said Alduin. Is that the Dark Lord?! But how?!

"Hehehe, you insolent fool... Potter, what do you want? Money? Power? Authority? Or maybe you want me to bring your father back? I can do that.

"Hahahahaha. Why would I want what I already have? I'd rather kill you than let you bring that idiot back to life!

I waved Alduin's wand, which had always seemed rather strange to me. A red spark flew over the Dark Lord, who managed to duck.

"Avada Kedavra!" - The Dark Lord's death curse flew towards me. Shocked and taken by surprise, I stood rooted to the spot, unable to move.

I had already said goodbye to life, regretting that I hadn't managed to solve Alduin's riddle and that I wouldn't be able to be with him.

"You shouldn't have." I open my eyes and see Alduin standing in front of me, shielding me from the deadly curse that didn't harm him at all.

"What?! Avada Ked...

Before the Dark Lord could finish, lightning struck him, piercing him through and through.

Alduin approaches the lying, still living body, from which two heavy breaths can be heard. A black sword with red veins appears in his hands. The sword exudes death and despair.

"We continue the tradition of cutting off the heads of Dark Lords!" Alduin says joyfully. With a swing, the heads of the Dark Lord and the professor fly off to the side.

A second, two seconds. The sword vanished, and a dark mass rose from the professor's body, in which a human figure could be discerned. This shadow began to fly away.

"Where did it go? Did I give you permission to leave?!"

Alduin opened his mouth, which began to draw in the dark spirit. The soul had already gained momentum and was about to enter Alduin's mouth when...

"I'll save you!" Ron Weasley runs into the room and knocks Alduin off his feet. The soul, now free, flies away.

"You made it! Who knows what could have happened to you if it had caught you! Come on, we have to tell them what happened.

I saw Alduin's eyes turn red and how he was shaking, clenching his teeth. I was scared, no, not for myself. Rage surrounded me and was directed at the redhead. Only now was I able to move.

"Daphne... Knock him out and get him away! Another couple of seconds and there'll be two dead bodies here!

"Yes." I cast a knock-out spell on the clueless Weasley. I levitate him and start to leave. I stop at the door and turn around.

Alduin is kneeling, his hands pressed against the stone floor, which has already begun to crumble. I run up to him and kiss him on the cheek. I don't know why, but I did it. Blushing like a tomato, I run out with the redhead's body.

I've changed a lot with Alduin around, but I don't mind...
