Harry Potter: BE a GOD

Chapter 419: Chapter 420: The God Prison

The moment Odin regained his ability to move, the two massive magical coils above and below the glass box had already activated.

Just as he tried to transform into lightning and escape, he found his magical power seemed to be frozen, unable to mobilize even the slightest bit.

He was also levitated by some force, suspended in the middle of the glass box.

"Roar!" Odin roared furiously, exerting all his strength to throw a punch. A tiny spark of electricity hit the glass box, failing to even leave a mark.

"Oh, a new arrival." Outside the glass box stood a bald man in a white lab coat, "This figure, could it be Odin?"

"Who are you?! And where is this place?!" Odin glared at the old man, shouting.

"Ah, my name is Leonard Tomich, a researcher. This is the Divine Research Institute, and you are our 19th research subject," the old man explained, pointing to a label in the upper left corner of the glass box that indeed read "No.19."

"Divine... Research Institute?" Odin was puzzled, "You know I am a god and yet dare to imprison me?!"

"It was somewhat unsettling at first, but after capturing many, we got used to it," Leonard said, "But if you really are Odin, you'd be the first main deity we've captured. The others were minor gods, usually revived through sacrificial rituals, with very weak divine powers."

At this, Leonard instructed his assistant, "Add two more coils and activate the liquid nitrogen cooling system to bring it into a superconducting state of magical power. A main deity's divine power must be very formidable; don't skimp on the magical power consumption. It would be disastrous if this guy escapes."

Following his orders, two additional coils were added in both directions above and below the glass box. The temperature inside the box rapidly dropped as white mist rose.

Odin, who had been subtly trying to mobilize his own magical power, found a slight loophole; the magical power around his head and feet seemed less frozen than other parts. He was attempting to concentrate his magical power at his toes, preparing to gather a thunderbolt to shatter this peculiar box.

However, before he could accumulate enough magical power, the enemy's maneuvers made the force binding him more than ten times stronger. He couldn't mobilize any magical power at all, and even his body was tightly bound. His long gray hair stood straight up, immobile like steel needles.

"What is... this?" he managed to say.

"Ah, the magnetic flux effect of magic," Leonard explained. "Similar to the flux pinning effect in superconductivity. The magical coils produce a vertical 'magnetic' field — well, it's not really a magnetic field, it only affects magic. We suspect magic and mental power are similar to electricity and magnetism. This 'mental force field', as I call it — ah, I digress. Anyway, this vertical mental force field fixes the magical energy defects or potential wells inside a magical object."

"Thus, your internal magical power, even the body that carries it, is fixed by the mental force field."

Seeing Odin's bewildered expression, Leonard sighed, "Alright, it might be difficult for you to understand this. Just imagine you're pierced by countless wires, suspending you in place."

"Your divine magic is too powerful; no physical material can contain you, so locking down your magic is the only method. This God Prison is the third generation. We've previously used magical shielding devices and magic laser pressure devices, but the mental force field has proven most effective."

The God Prison...

Odin clenched his teeth in anger. Humanity had once again created something capable of imprisoning gods!

"Mr. Odin," Leonard said, "As a main deity, you must have held a distinguished position. We'd prefer not to treat you this way, but given your destructive potential, we had no choice. However, if you cooperate, we'll make your imprisonment as comfortable as possible."

Odin was furious but cursed that he couldn't unleash any of his divine power in this so-called "God Prison." He closed his eyes and remained silent, ignoring the offer.

"Alright." Seeing Odin's reaction, Leonard knew he wouldn't cooperate, which was expected.

They had captured over a dozen "gods," none of whom were willing to cooperate. These gods seemed indifferent to all forms of damage; even if their bodies were burned to ashes and their magic exhausted, they showed no fear. The researchers indeed had no better means to handle them.

"Try to take some tissue samples," Leonard sighed, instructing his assistant before leaving.

...

On the other hand, Murphy's bombing had little effect. Although the monsters were cleared again, Dagda was still alive.

This deity's offensive power was far less than Odin's and lacked the latter's ability to blink across distances. However, he had a significant advantage.

Celtic mythology is the native mythology of Britain. As long as Dagda stood on this land, he was almost immortal.

No matter the attack, even if his body was blown apart, he could still resurrect from the blood and flesh remnants. When Murphy prepared to imprison him in the God Prison, the deity could abandon his current body at any time and be reborn from another beast's body.

Protected by his cauldron, the runes on Stonehenge were nearly all activated. The stone circle glowed with various colors, and at its center, a crack gradually opened, revealing a vast army of monsters stirring within.

Simultaneously, the disaster in Rio worsened. The Brazilian Ministry of Magic declined the Countermeasures Bureau's offer of help, claiming they had already contacted the Magical Congress of the Beautiful Country and the magic ministries of various member countries of the Wizards' Alliance. Wizards from these nations were assisting them, and there was no need for the Wizards' Union to intervene.

However, the wizards sent to address the "magical disaster" clearly underestimated its scale. They dispatched a small team of fewer than fifty people, who were almost immediately overwhelmed by hundreds of thousands of sea monsters upon entering the battlefield, failing to make any impact.

This delay caused the situation in Rio to change again.

Blood clouds rose from corpses scattered across the city, forming blood ribbons that converged and surged toward the giant statue on Mount Corcovado, seeping into the nearly 40-meter tall sculpture.

Soaked in tens of tons of blood, the entire statue turned blood red. Then, the blood color receded, and the statue shook slightly.

"Heh!"

After a loud breath, the statue's arms slowly lowered, taking a step forward.

"Thud!"

In front of the statue was originally an empty cliff, but after a deafening noise, it stepped onto a staircase made of light in the air.

"Thud!"

Another loud noise, and the statue's movements became more agile.

Blood surged from behind it, forming a disk that suddenly changed color, casting a brilliant golden-white light that illuminated the world. The statue stood in midair, bowing its head, overlooking the city that had nearly turned into ruins.

Then it spoke, issuing a command to the human world.

"Kneel before me," it said.

But before the words could settle, a beam of light struck its head, shattering stones and even compressing its massive body a few meters down.

Simultaneously, missiles launched from bases in both the UK and Sweden.
