Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 750: The Overlord

Shane didn't hesitate and purchased the Bio-Armor Repair Kit…

At this time, Raze and the others were also purchasing some items on their own, so the appearance of the kit didn't surprise anyone.

After all, they thought that it would just be converted to points later.

Soon, Shane took it out of the Inventory and held up the Bio-Armor Repair Kit.

It was quite heavy, and it seemed really advanced…

"It's finally time to fix this thing…"

He reached down and tapped the unassuming black belt wrapped tightly around his waist—what appeared to be a simple accessory was, in truth, one of his greatest pieces of equipment.

[ Genesis Bio-Armor:

Classification: Advanced Bio-Tech Equipment

Form: Compact Belt (Deactivated)

Provides Enhanced Physical Resilience, Environmental Adaptability, Integrated Nanite Repair System, Auto-Sync with Neuro-Link, Armor Transformation Modes, Tactical HUD Support ( Thermal, Night Vision, Lifeform Detection )

Durability: 58% (Damaged)

Status: Inactive ]

With a nod, Shane placed the Repair Kit on the ground.

Soon, it detected his Genesis Bio-Armor, and just like that, mechanical limbs emerged from the pod-like container, surrounding his belt, and it started glowing faintly with repair nanites.

It was at this time that Raze and the others realized that Shane was actually not converting the item he purchased in the store. Instead, he was using it!

"That's your Bio-Armor, right? Is it badly damaged?" Raze asked.

"Bio-Armor… That looked so cool…" Tessa commented.

"Leader… If you found something better than that and you wanted to sell it instead, you have to talk to me first. I'll be giving you an offer you can't refuse." Kael said as he eyed the Bio-Armor…

Having its protection would surely be the best for a healer like him, who was always on the front line.

After all, who wouldn't want a Bio-Armor?

Soon, they watched as the belt twitched.

Then, slowly, some black matter came out of the repair kit and began to flow across the belt like living fluid.

Then, within moments, the Genesis Bio-Armor reassembled itself and it soon started fitting on Shane's body, exuding a soft violet glow from its power nodes.

As the description said, it only lasted for 30 seconds and soon, another notification appeared from the system.

[ Your Genesis Bio-Armor has been repaired by 25%. Current Durability: 83%. ]

[ Integrated Bio-Armor System is now operational. ]

"Ohhh… It's 25%... Not bad." Shane gently nodded as he recalled that the repair kit at a minimum of 15%.

Just like that, the others turned their heads as the transformation completed.

"Damn…" Raze muttered as she looked at Shane...

It had been a while since they had seen Shane wearing the Bio-Armor. After all, they were always managing the Springriver Manor while Shane would go to Eclipse Domain or New Genesis during the Zombie Wave.

"It's cool… How about you wear that during the event? No one will recognize you." Raze suggested with a chuckle.

"Right… I'm sure many of the Survivors, especially those evil ones who were hunting fellow Survivors, would be hiding their faces as well." Kael said sarcastically as Shane would look like a criminal if he was deliberately hiding his face.

"Shane's different. He's famous. Do you know how many survivors wanted to join our Shelter? We can't just accept anyone anymore. We will need to have a higher standard, or the shelters we have will be overwhelmed." Raze explained.

"Well… Sounds fair." Tessa muttered.

"I can agree to that. I will hide my face then. I'll wear a full-body armor… It might be this Bio-Armor, but I'm also considering whether to use a Zombie Lord Set Armor instead." Shane said after some thought.

There would be a lot of people at the event. 10,000 to be exact.

It might be better not to show his face to avoid getting too much attention.

"However… The others must also hide their faces. That way, it wouldn't be too suspicious if I wear an Armor." Shane said.

"Ohhh… That's not a bad idea. We can arrange for that to happen. Just one announcement in our Clan Chat, and that will be solved." Raze replied.

It was quite easy to hide their faces since they had masks, helmets, and other covers they could use.

For now, Shane decided to move with his Bio-Armor as he tried to see if the 83% Durability was already enough…

Shane cracked his neck, and the armor flexed with his motion. Then, he continued doing some movement exercises before he felt satisfied.

"It's good to be back at full strength."

Eight hours after the System's Auction Event Announcement.

Within a dimly lit chamber of the Overlord Clan's fortified stronghold, thirteen figures gathered around a huge table.

This was the inner sanctum of The Alliance, a coalition forged by multiple Clans to ensure that they all prosper in this Apocalypse.

At the head of the table was Lancelot, the indomitable Clan Leader of the Overlord Clan, and de facto leader of the Alliance.

He was tall, and he had a different aura around him.

He had completely changed after he had met Shane in the Waiting Zone.

He wanted to be the emperor of this new world, and he needed to be able to control the clans under him.

"Tomorrow, the Grand Auction begins—and we will not let Shane stand above us."

Murmurs rippled across the room.

The name Shane had become something of a legend… or a curse, depending on who spoke it. No one knew how many System Points he had—but every clan here believed it was more than half a million by now.

Some feared it was already reaching a million.

Although it seemed to be an exaggeration, they had already heard of the Mech Frames that he had. If Shane decided to convert those Mech Frames, they believed that it would give a lot of points… 20,000 Points for each of those Mech Frames may not even be enough.

Furthermore, based on their spies, Shane also had access to several mining sites. Silver, Gold, Spirit Stones… They were all being mined by his territory!

If that were the case, all the good items would surely come to Shane, and the gap in their strength would increase once again.

Lastly, the fact that Asad, the Number 2 Survivor, had joined Shane's lineup as well infuriated Lancelot and the others. After all, they had been trying to recruit Asad for a long time already.

Still, despite these unfortunate events, Lancelot was not giving up. He still had an ace up his sleeve.

"He's wealthy," Lancelot said…

"Too wealthy. And once that Auction begins, he'll be able to buy power that not even we can't even predict. We cannot afford that to happen."

Everyone nodded. They were aware of it, and they couldn't deny it. The Auction was more than just a shopping spree—it was also an arms race for survival, and Shane was poised to win all the good things.

They didn't want to fight over some crumbs.

Lancelot raised his arm and soon showed his Conversion Device II to others.

"I wonder how many points you've gathered so far… Well, 40 to 60,000 Points should be quite a decent haul already. However, if we want to beat Shane, this is not enough." He said…

"That is why you are here."

Silence fell again as they waited for him to finish.

He turned to the other Clan Leaders seated before him. A dozen men and women, each commanding their own domains. None of them spoke.

"You will give me your finest materials," Lancelot said flatly. "Essence Stones. Power Cores. Sacred Artifacts. Anything rare or hoarded. I will convert them. I will battle Shane at the Auction. You will fund our victory."

A few jaws clenched as they shifted their gazes but no one spoke out.

Of course, they all wanted to beat Shane. However, they didn't want it to happen with their sacrifice.

After a few moments, one of the Clan Leaders nodded.

"Y-you're right…"

"That's the only way…"

They couldn't refuse him—not because they completely agreed, but because they knew the truth: the Overlord Clan had grown too strong.

And Lesley, Lancelot's right hand and the terrifying vice-leader, was ranked within the Top 10 of all survivors, possessing the rare and deadly Petrifying Gaze Talent.

It must be remembered that it was a Legendary Grade. It was on a completely different level of petrification talent that Shane had previously looted.

Indeed, as soon as Lancelot had given this command, Lesley made her presence known.

She was actually hidden within the room until now.

Still, she didn't move and just watched the room silently.

This wasn't a negotiation. It was a decree from Lancelot.

Reluctantly, the leaders began to nod, and one by one, they gave up some of their precious items to help Lancelot gather enough points.

They had no other choice. The protection of the Overlord Clan was also necessary for them. They didn't want to be the next Blood Talon Clan, which had been left behind after the Fourth Zombie Wave because the Clan Leader, Reylin, couldn't read the mood.
