Genshin Impact: Selling Pokemons in Teyvat

Chapter 29: Chapter 29

"Tianquan, you're too kind. I'm not worthy of such praise."

Li Pan replied calmly, subtly moving away from Ningguang to avoid falling into her schemes.

Seeing this, the amusement in Ningguang's eyes deepened. For every step Li Pan took back, she took one forward, maintaining the distance perfectly.

Li Pan sighed helplessly, waving his hand at Ningguang and gently massaging his temples, looking utterly resigned.

"Tianquan, if you have something to say, just say it. Don't play these games. I'm just a small merchant. I can't handle such special treatment from you."

Hearing this, Ningguang leaned back, a victorious smile on her radiant face.

"Dear Li, excessive humility is just arrogance. I've come this time not for anything else but to ask you to back me up."

Li Pan was momentarily stunned but quickly understood what Ningguang was referring to.

"The situation in Qingce Village?"

"Exactly. Based on my speculation, this incident in Qingce Village is likely related to the malevolent Chi sealed underground by the Geo Archon. This time, neither I nor Keqing want to involve the Archon or the adepti. That's why I've come to you, Dear Li."

Li Pan was both amused and exasperated.

He finally understood what this cunning woman was up to, she was here to ask for his help.

Truly, this was Tianquan Ningguang, practical to the core. When she needed something, he was "Dear Li"; when she didn't, he was just "Boss Li."

Li Pan thought for a moment. "Alright, I'll help you."

After all, even if Ningguang hadn't come, he had planned to send Landorus to assist the people of Qingce Village. This was a good opportunity to earn a favor from her.

A favor from Tianquan Ningguang was a precious thing, something many people could only dream of.

"In that case, thank you, Dear Li. Also, from now on, just call me by my name. Between us, there's no need for such formality."

Ningguang smiled, her beauty blooming like a Glaze Lily in full bloom, truly surpassing the fragrance of hibiscus and the elegance of pearls in a breeze.

With that, she stood up and prepared to leave with Baiwen.

Baiwen, meanwhile, was completely stunned. She had never seen Ningguang like this before.

After seeing the two of them out of Pokémon Home, Li Pang helplessly sat back down in his rocking chair.

This world is too complicated. Only this rocking chair can soothe my weary soul.

At that moment, Landorus popped out of nowhere, poking Li Pan curiously with its finger.

Poke poke.

Annoyed, Li Pan suddenly sat up, looking at Landorus with resignation. "What is it?"

"What were you talking about with that woman? How far have you two gotten?"

Landorus's eyes sparkled, its face full of gossip excitement, as if it couldn't wait to pull out a watermelon and sit on the ground to listen. In fact, it did just that—it somehow produced a watermelon, sliced it into even pieces with Swords Dance, and sat cross-legged on the ground, staring at Li Pan with burning curiosity.

It looked like a worried parent seeing their child talking to a young woman.

Li Pan was utterly speechless. He snatched the watermelon from Landorus's hands and took a big bite. "What relationship? That cunning woman came to ask for my help, to back her up in Qingce Village."

Spitting out the seeds, Li Pan wiped his hands and spoke nonchalantly. He had full confidence in Landorus's strength. After all, Landorus wasn't just any ordinary Legendary Pokémon.

In mythology, Tornadus and Thundurus were a pair of rivals, always fighting whenever they had the chance.

And when these two troublemakers went too far, Landorus would appear in its Therian Forme, shining like a hero, taking on both of them and beating them senseless until they passed out. Then, it would absorb the power of thunder and wind to restore the farmland.

This was basically the Groudon of the Legendary Trio! In terms of combat power, Landorus was definitely among the top-tier Legendary Pokémon.

Hearing Li Pan's explanation, Landorus stroked its chin, a thoughtful expression on its face. "Qingce Village… why does that sound so familiar… Oh, I remember! It's the Chi, right?"

???

Hearing Landorus's words, Li Pan felt like his head was full of question marks. He knew about the Chi sealed beneath Qingce Village because he had played the game, but how did Landorus know?

Wait, are you, with your thick eyebrows and big eyes, also a transmigrator?

Noticing Li Pan's suspicious look, Landorus quickly explained. "It was Zhongli who told me. I've been running into him a lot these past few days when I go out. He even brings me some delicious stones, probably local specialties. Little Pan, let me tell you, Zhongli is a really good guy."

Landorus rambled on, and Li Pan finally nodded in understanding. As for why Zhongli had approached Landorus, Li Pan knew all too well. With Zhongli's personality, how could he not keep an eye on a Legendary Pokémon like Landorus that had suddenly appeared in Liyue Harbor?

In fact, with Landorus's experience, if it knew Zhongli's true identity, it would quickly figure out what he was up to. But Li Pan had never told Landorus Zhongli's real identity.

"Since you know it's the Chi, do you think you can beat it?"

Landorus thumped its chest confidently and gave Li Pan a thumbs-up. "Me, Landorus, invincible!"

Over the past few days, Landorus had explored many places in Liyue with Zhongli and heard many stories.

Most of the time, Zhongli was the one talking, introducing Landorus to the customs and culture of Teyvat.

Occasionally, Landorus would offer some insights.

But for some reason, after hearing Landorus's responses, Zhongli always had a thoughtful expression on his face.

As for the Chi, Landorus had heard about it from Zhongli recently.

Based on the descriptions alone, Landorus could beat the Chi like a father disciplining his son, making it cry for mercy.

Hearing Landorus's confidence, Li Pan finally breathed a sigh of relief. At least he hadn't embarrassed himself in front of Ningguang.

"Mr. Yan Bang, have you contacted the Ministry of Civil Affairs yet?"

Qingce Village.

In the pouring rain, Xiangling thrust her spear through the head of a Chi beast, causing it to explode into a puddle of water. She hurriedly turned to ask Yan Bang.

Grookey and Guoba stood by her side, fending off the Chi beasts that lunged at her.

The trio formed an impenetrable wall in front of Yan Bang, but the Chi beasts surged forward like a tidal wave. Before long, Xiangling was struggling to hold her ground.

Behind her, Herdier loyally guarded Yan Bang, biting down on a Chi beast and letting out a fierce roar in the rainy night.

Yan Bang, meanwhile, frantically fiddled with a strangely shaped crossbow, his face drenched in what could have been rain or sweat.

Click—

After a while, he finally gave up. "Miss Xiangling, it's no use. The bowstring is soaked by the rain. It won't fire! We need to get out of here now."

Hearing this, the last bit of strength in Xiangling's body seemed to drain away.
