Chapter 30: Chapter 30
"Got it!"
Xiangling stabbed the Chi beast that lunged at her, retreating while fighting until they reached the mountaintop.
The Chi beasts, like a tidal wave, seemed unable to venture too far from the water. Once Xiangling and Yan Bang retreated to the mountain, the relentless Chi beasts finally gave up the chase.
"Those damned things are getting more and more numerous."
Standing on the mountaintop, Yan Bang's face was pale.
When he first arrived, he had only found one Chi beast in the cave. But now, those creatures were everywhere there was water.
Xiangling didn't respond. Instead, she crouched halfway up the mountain, drooling as she watched the Chi beasts frolic in the water. "Do those things… taste good?"
This silly girl, after discovering that the Millelith had already evacuated the people of Qingce Village, immediately reverted to her true nature, wanting to cook and taste everything she saw.
Hearing this, Yan Bang shuddered, his face turning grim, as if recalling something unpleasant.

In the underground palace beneath Qingce Village.
Despite the flood above, not a single drop of water had seeped into this place. The air was filled with a golden radiance.
This was the seal left by the Geo Archon, which had suppressed the malevolent Chi for thousands of years. But this time, the Chi could sense that the seal had weakened.
In the past, the seal was unremarkable, showing no signs of its divine power, yet it had weighed heavily on the Chi's heart like a mountain. Now, however, the seal had changed, releasing its radiance without restraint.
This was not a good sign.
It only proved that the seal was now fragile, just like Morax himself!
He had ended the Archon War, but in doing so, he had also borne the curses of countless gods.
Every second of his existence was marked by severe erosion, far worse than that of his peers.
Thousands of years had passed. Even stone would have eroded and weathered by now. The seal was no different. Now was the time for the Chi to see the light of day once more!
A set of pale bones lay on the ground—the remains of the malevolent Chi. But now, its dismembered body had been reassembled.
On the ground, the dried skull had grown a layer of withered skin, and streaks of blood gradually spread across the pale bones.
Long-lost vitality began to reawaken in this desiccated corpse.
Crack, crack, crack~
The grating sound of bones rubbing against each other echoed through the underground palace. The skeletal figure slowly raised its head, its nose pointing toward the entrance as it greedily sniffed the air, as if it could smell the long-missed moisture.
Within the ribcage of the pale skeleton, a withered heart began to beat violently. Drops of deep blue blood pumped from the heart, flowing through its body. With each drop, the bloodstains on its body grew darker.
"Respected Chi, please wait a little longer. We've prepared a brand-new surprise for you, one that will not disappoint."
A spark of fire appeared in the air, growing larger and larger. In the next moment, a Pyro Abyss Mage materialized and bowed to the skeletal figure.
"I hope so."
The skeletal Chi glanced at the Abyss Mage, its hollow eye sockets burning with phosphorescent flames.
From the crumbling seal, it could sense Morax's weakness. It wondered what state that invincible God of War was in now.
Once it broke free, it would immediately seek out Morax, summon floods to drown everything he cherished, and revel in his grief and despair. The thought alone was enough to make its scalp tingle with excitement!!!!
The skeletal Chi shook its head, forcibly suppressing its excitement.
After a brief collaboration, it had found the Abyss Order to be quite reliable. So, it decided to give them a chance.
But if what the Abyss Order offered didn't satisfy it, then it wouldn't hold back. After all, it had delayed its revenge against Morax for this!
"Of course, great Chi. We will not disappoint you."
The Pyro Abyss Mage bowed deeply, a cold glint in its eyes.
What the Abyss Order needed was not an intelligent beast but an obedient war machine.
…
In Liyue Harbor, at the Heyu Tea House, Yun Jin on stage performed a dazzling spear flourish, earning cheers from the audience.
At that moment, Zhongli slowly set down his teacup.
"Huh? Zhongli, what's wrong?"
Beside him, Landorus, who had been enthusiastically listening to Yun Jin's performance like an old man, noticed Zhongli's unusual behavior and asked curiously.
"It's nothing. Just a naughty little one has run away and is causing trouble."
Zhongli's gaze was profound, as if he could see through space and witness everything happening beneath Qingce Village. He spoke with indifference.
"Oh, a rebellious kid at home, huh? Probably just going through a phase. A good beating will fix it. It's a normal phase. My kid's the same, always staying at home, never going out. If this goes on, he'll become a useless member of society who never carries money when he goes out."
Landorus cracked melon seeds as it complained about Li Pan, subtly taking a jab at someone.
Zhongli glanced at Landorus, and in the next moment, a stone spike grew from the stone bench Landorus was sitting on.
"Ouch!"
Landorus jumped up from the bench, clutching its butt in pain. Its cry interrupted Yun Jin's performance, and everyone turned to look.
Landorus quickly apologized to the audience, removed the stone spike, and sat back down, glaring resentfully at Zhongli, who acted as if nothing had happened.
"Zhongli, you jerk! You set me up!" Landorus growled in a low voice.
Zhongli, unfazed, picked up his teacup and took a sip like a seasoned official. "Sip~~~~ No such thing. Don't overthink it. Focus on the performance."
Meanwhile, Li Pan, who was lying in the shop reading a book, suddenly sneezed.
"Ah… Choo! Who's talking behind my back?"
On stage, Yun Jin cleared her throat and continued singing.
At this moment, Landorus leaned closer to Zhongli again.
"Zhongli, Ningguang went to see my kid yesterday."
"Hmm."
"Don't you have anything to say?"
"No."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes."
"Don't you want to know what Ningguang and my kid talked about?"
"The Tianquan is wise and has her own plans. Why should I know? Knowing too much can lead to trouble. I'm just a consultant at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, after all."
Zhongli spoke calmly.
Seeing his indifferent demeanor, Landorus felt frustrated. Why was this guy so unshakable?
